I know it's a little early but I may not have another chance to get on here before midnight...I woke up feeling kinda sick..maybe it's just allergies...the weather is nuts as usual 70F outside...this is the last year I have to live in this tipsey turvey Ga with it's warm winters when everyone else is getting snow!!! BTW Made those pics of snow are wonderful!! Anyways have a safe night everyone!! I will try to check in here later today!
To those of you who are fighting off various bugs...feel better soon!
To those of us who are sad as the season we love fades away...be of good cheer!
We begin again...preparing for Christmas 2013 right here on this board!
Happy New Year to all!
Just put the Razzleberry Pie in the oven should be done in a alittle over an hour...I guess I will go through the motions tonight..we are just having a very small get together with another couple here at the house..I Just want to get through these next 2 days and I will be okay..there is a lot to look forward to this winter..It usually takes me about 1 week after New years to get back into a swing...but before then I just usually lurk around the house looking for things to do.lol oh and tomorrow is the dreaded taking down of the decorations!! We need a support group here for post Christmas trauma!!
When growing up my parents would rent a movie projector from the library and we would watch a couple of movies on new years eve. We also played bingo, dad would buy the strangest gifts as prizes. We ate lots of croquettes, olie bollen and assorted other snacks. Lots of fun and great memories. I continued this as my kids grew up.
Your kids will remember these moments for a life time so have fun with it!
Thank you all, seeing this support has brought a tear to my eye. I finally worked up the courage to go for something new, and I think it is time.
Xmas365, thanks so much for the thread, Christmas Song A Day, All Year Long! It's a great song by the wonderful Perry Como to end the year with!
Everyone should take a look at the thread for a quick Christmas fix full of songs!

What time should I get there?I will try to get on at work, it depends on how many customers we get. Not expecting a lot since most will be at parties, most likely will just end up with a few drunks...but they ususally over tip so that works for me! LOL
Here is what the house looked like all lit up December 27 during the snowstorm.

So Christmassy!
I just Checked and I only had 520 posts this year in the countdown thread.. I guess I should check the 2011 one because I know it was down this year but I did not know it was only 520! I really hope to be around more because you guys are my family too..I get support and encouragement and don't feel like a dolt for loving Christmas like I do.. maybe in 2013 we can get to 40k posts!
I think there's a section of the forum called Classics---where the "retired" Countdown threads and other "keepers" go. I think the "song a day" thread should be archived there so it'll be available to members for a long time to come, where future members can find it and enjoy it.

ETA: I had 1009 posts in 2011 so I certainly did not talk as much this year!!!

It was an amazing thread !! Xmas did SUCH a GREAT job !!! xo
For the 1st time in years I actually stuck to my new years resolution. This time last year I resolved that my wife would not pump gas anymore. About twice a week I would ask her what her tank read and if it was anywhere near a quarter, I would take it out and fill it up. Up until two weeks ago she had only filled it twice during the year and I couldn't really control that since she was out of town. She did have to fill it up recently because I was working late & couldn't get to it and she jokingly harrassed me about it for days.
I haven't come up with a new resolution yet but I will continue last years. For all of you guys out there, your wives will greatly appreciate this gesture.
