I know these few days I find tough, I am just not ready to let this season slip away yet. I just cannot take down my decorations down this early, even w/o my birthday traditions. I took them all down on January 10 last year so I know the kick in the pants to take things down will come soon. I will soon erase 98% of my Christmas DVR'd stuff, I did record 4+ hours of Christmas Music Choice for the rest of the year. I have The Real Story Of Christmas documentary I will save. We all have our ways to deal with it, and I hope you find your way through these blues 'dawg.

When growing up my parents would rent a movie projector from the library and we would watch a couple of movies on new years eve. We also played bingo, dad would buy the strangest gifts as prizes. We ate lots of croquettes, olie bollen and assorted other snacks. Lots of fun and great memories. I continued this as my kids grew up.
Your kids will remember these moments for a life time so have fun with it!

We'll rent you a movie projector!

Xmas365, thanks so much for the thread, Christmas Song A Day, All Year Long! It's a great song by the wonderful Perry Como to end the year with!

Everyone should take a look at the thread for a quick Christmas fix full of songs!

I think there's a section of the forum called Classics---where the "retired" Countdown threads and other "keepers" go. I think the "song a day" thread should be archived there so it'll be available to members for a long time to come, where future members can find it and enjoy it.

I just Checked and I only had 520 posts this year in the countdown thread.. I guess I should check the 2011 one because I know it was down this year but I did not know it was only 520! I really hope to be around more because you guys are my family too..I get support and encouragement and don't feel like a dolt for loving Christmas like I do.. maybe in 2013 we can get to 40k posts!

ETA: I had 1009 posts in 2011 so I certainly did not talk as much this year!!!

I will try to get on at work, it depends on how many customers we get. Not expecting a lot since most will be at parties, most likely will just end up with a few drunks...but they ususally over tip so that works for me! LOL
What time should I get there?

The movie show starts soon. Hope it will pep me up---just not feeling festive today, which is unusual. I usually really look forward to our New Year's Eve here at home. I'll stop in later to read the end of this Countdown and the start of the new one. Looking forward to another great ride to Christmas with you!

Don't feel like a dolt for loving Christmas, everyone has their "thing." Yours like many here is Christmas, some people I know love things like craft beer, fantasy sports, video games, baseball cards and so on. My family still thinks my love for Christmas is "odd." But they know it is what makes me, me.

For the 1st time in years I actually stuck to my new years resolution. This time last year I resolved that my wife would not pump gas anymore. About twice a week I would ask her what her tank read and if it was anywhere near a quarter, I would take it out and fill it up. Up until two weeks ago she had only filled it twice during the year and I couldn't really control that since she was out of town. She did have to fill it up recently because I was working late & couldn't get to it and she jokingly harrassed me about it for days.

I haven't come up with a new resolution yet but I will continue last years. For all of you guys out there, your wives will greatly appreciate this gesture.

What a coincidence! In 2012 I resloved to not pass...uh...never mind!

(Didn't keep it anyway!)
