We just ordered a new laptop! Our's has still really been acting up. I think we are going to see if someone can wipe out the old one and see if it is good for just games, for EA to play on.
Can't wait for it's arrival!

Good morning, Christmas friends. It is overcast and quite chilly here in northern California. Hubby and I will be having our Christmas dinner today since my lack of energy prevented us (me, really) from doing anything during the week of Christmas. The turkey is almost brined, the croutons are being dried and then will be toasted, the crockpots are ready for the gravy and stuffing, the rolls will soon be rising, the pie is store-bought, the eggs will soon be deviled, the potatoes are soon to be cooking, and the peas and cauliflower will round out the meal in addition to cranberry sauce. I think that's it. Hope I haven't forgotten anything!
I bought one for the mrs this Christmas and Its neat and all, but beware, (and of course, this is only my opinion, (I do not want offend anyone)) but Windows 8 - it's a real stinker.... (It's a perfect example of geeks going wild/ too far to be too cool...).
I mean, you can become used to it, but it's not Windows 7 or XP, I'll take them any day of the week. And it's not the user, it's the platform, it's way too complicated and totally useless for someone, that is just a basic operator/ user and wants or needs only just basic functions.
I'm telling you the world is becoming way to complicated for itself and in some cases, like this, unnecessary. There is a point as with all things, that simpler is better, why complicate things all the time? Life is stressful enough, why make it worse.... Just my blah, blah, blah for the day!
My nephew who was in an asthma-induced coma is awake and talking. Thanks for your prayers and kind thoughts!

Well, the ornaments are all back in hibernation, but I'm leaving the bare, lighted trees up for tonight so I can light them up for Twelfth Night. Then I'll pack them away tomorrow.
We've been up since 6:30 a.m. and we've starving. Time to grab some lunch, fer sure!
There's a file that you can download online and burn onto a CD or DVD; then you boot the computer with it, and it wipes everything. Caution, though ... it wipes EVERYTHING, so if you want it for games or something, you'd have to re-install the OS. I used it to wipe an old laptop before I took it to Staples for disposal.
 When and where you'll pick us up for dinner?
Only one house on my street has their outside Christmas lights still up.

As of yesterday, we have quite a few in our small town.
