Omg. I could smell those threw the computer and it dragged me out of bed. I'm heading to my truck now. I'll see you in the morning!!!!!

So, Like I just told CS, we just got back from a late walk with Harlowe, because she really needed one…

...And it's 4° outside! -7 windchill.

My fingers and ears are still numb, and I Dressed like Randy in A Christmas Story... That's how much I love that girl!

At 7 AM tomorrow, it's supposed to be -2° outside. Oh my goodness, My blood has definitely thinned out ;-)

Yes, I'm still so happy to be here!!!!

Here's a picture of Harlowe on A walk we took a few days ago ❄

Good night Christmas friends! I had a full day...everyone of my friends has the flu so me and brandi have been taking soup and ginger ale to all of them and checking on them all evening..Now of course we have our fingers crossed we don't get it.lol actually I think I had itlast week. I did not have a fever or anything I just could not keep anything down. More importantly I hope the kids don't get it...I think every state in the country is reporting epidemic numbers...and of course this crazy weather is not helping either. One day it's cold then the next it's hot...anyhow I still find myself with the PCB"s they rarely have lasted this long.

I think my problem is that All fall and December I was running around waiting for the baby to come, then once he did everything just moved so fast I could not catch my breath then before I knew it it was Dec 24th!! Next year should be much slower.. Still I wish I would have absorbed more movies and had time to come here more often to get recharged. that is the good thing about being here year around! Anyhow in a few hours it's rise and shine time...Good night everyone have a great Monday morning!

Good Morning, Friends.

"Sunrise....Sunset....Sunrise....Sunset.
Swiftly goes the count."

The neverending cycle back to Christmas.
Year after year.
How long will we go on counting together here?
.....Haunting to ponder.

Well.....this might be an easier ponder:
Days to the Season: 303
Days to Christmas Day: 345
Now under half a week off from the grand opening of the 300-day Season Window.
Will you be here for that auspicious moment?

Beautiful here yesterday!
Highs in the 70's.
Gentle breezes.
Lots of sun.
No rain.
(If this is global warming, here's to it!)
I read 61 balmy degrees here on our thermometer.

Have a Marvelous Monday, Everybody.
And a Stupendous Start to your work week!

That's the idea!

Exactly!!! Monday is a Marvelous day! Not a gloomy one!!!

I feel everyday is a blessing. My pastor had a sermon yesterday (not preaching here, good word for all faiths!) Change the attitude from, "I have to" to "I get to"!

Instead of saying, "I have to go to work" feel blessed that, "I get to go to work". That saying should go to everything we do!

It's hard to stay in that mode all the time but even before I heard that sermon I have always tried to adopt that attitude in times that seem tough or things that I do that seem like mundane task! I just love the way he worded it!!!

That's the exact Keurig system we have, Platinum Plus! Ours in cinnamon colored. I think that color was only available through QVC? Not sure I seen it anywhere else.

Those rolls look yummy! It would have to be dessert for me later in the day. I never could eat sweets in the morning, not even as a kid. I felt sick all day afterward. :-o What a weird kids I was! LOL!

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

It was a long day at Bernie's last Saturday, but I did leave long enough to have lunch with my mom and some family friends I haven't seen in 35 years. They came for a quick visit while passing through, and it was good to see them. One is a retired doctor whose only vocation these days is, apparently, golfing. He said he could get me tickets to the Masters! He's my new best friend!

I have a short day at work. I have an appointment with the cardiologist this afternoon. Just a checkup, no problems.

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Good idea about the "I get to." I try to remember (on Monday mornings when I just don't want to go to work) that there may come a time in life when I look back on these days and think, "Man, what I wouldn't give to get up, go to work, then come home to my little kids being loud again."
Sounds like it was a great sermon and thanks for the encouraging word!

Happy Mondy

I hope you all have a great Monday. It's cold here in Oklahoma, but Friday it was almost 70! It was a good chance for the kids to go outside and play and burn off some of that winter energy. Now, it's back indoors for a while until things thaw out again.
Have a great week!

Question

I have a question. On some posts I've seen a line at the bottom indicating they were posted using an app called "Typepad" or something like that. I just got a Kindle Fire HD and woud love to have a MMC app on there. Is Typepad good? Is it easy to use? I'm new to the world of apps and tablets, so I'm working with a very limeted knowlege here.

wow, Saturday is almost over and I am just checking in for the first time!
Spent a good part of the day with my mom, went shopping, did some errands and had lunch together. Then me, LittleCS and a couple of friends went out to a luxury restaurant for a fine dinner (hot dogs at Costco) and went to watch "Parental Guidance"..a great movie, highly recommend it.

I have to drop my eldest off for work soon and stop at the drug store for some sore muscle rub in hopes that the pain in my arm will subside and I can sleep tonight.

Hope you all have a good sleep, talk to you in the morning!

I hope you are pain-free today!

Do you mean Tapatalk? I think it's available on Kindle Fire for a few dollars. I've used it on Kindle Fire and now iPad, and I like it.

Too much weekend and not enough rest, I think. Looking forward to next weekend being quieter.

Thanks for the attitude adjustment, CAH! I don't know if I can keep that positive every day, but it's something to shoot for. I GET to reread a 100-page brochure because the design didn't leave enough space for the translations into five other languages! (Maybe not today, but it's coming.)

Work may get tough sometimes, but I can always come here afterward.

Hope it's a good week for you!

I just had to go back and re-watch the Lula song. Cracks me up! Thanks for your kind words on promising students. It is so funny because the "counselor" sometimes decides which teacher gets which students (normally the "problem students"). She always seems surprised that I can like them so much and they end up liking the "mean" teacher. Sometimes it just takes a simple solution. For example, I have five students just on the front row who constantly play in their desks, disrupting the classroom with the noise. The solution: turn their desks around for a while so they don't have access. Then when they tell me they can sit a little quieter, we turn it back around. They get tired of having to get up and get what they need.

We did!

By "promising," I meant to include those who have potential that only the good teachers see and build upon. Without teachers like you, their gifts may never be given to the world, because a good teacher needs to help them to reveal those gifts.

I got a gift card for the Vermont Country Store. The movies we watched would leave you saying "huh?!" We watched a Columbia short comedy starring Smith & Dale, and a few Vitaphone short subjects starring vaudeville/Broadway stars of the 1920s, both on the video projector. (I bet you'd love Trixie Friganza!) Our friend brought along a recording that was made by Capitol Records as a Christmas greeting to record shop owners---a seven-minute audio sketch with Baby Snooks (Fanny Brice) and Daddy (Hanley Stafford), plus Sylvester the Cat and Tweetie Pie (Mel Blanc). So we got to hear Sylvester and Tweetie sing "Jingle Bells"!

Re Trixie Friganza---here she is on YouTube. This isn't the one we watched today, but it'll give you an idea of what she was like.
