Hey, Murphman. You have a great week, too! Any snow for you?
Nope, just a lot of wind yesterday and a yard full of small limbs & debris. Last Fri we had a lot of freezing rain that caused problems on the roads.

Thanks for sharing your news with us! We do indeed have a wonderful little community here. One of the best days of my life has come to an end. Now, the nightly prayers for a healthy baby will begin (although there have already been about 50).
Isn't it funny...the only people in mY life who know are people that I have never met....
I think that speaks volumes for the tight-knit community we have here.
Thanks for the well wishes. It only made my night better.
We woke up to just a dusting of snow that covered the cars and the ground. The roads were clear except for patches of black ice. Forecast high today is 34 with 2 more inches of snow coming tonight. I'll take it but I wish it was 2 feet instead of inches.Happy 82nd Birthday to your dad, MGRamsey. I hope your mom is doing well. Keeping her in my thoughts and prayers.
Our winter weather has been a big disappointment too. Normally we get some cold temps but not many this year. I wonder if your "dusting" of snow will end up being more!
Seawaters- Enjoy your final day tomorrow!!!

Good Thursday morning everyone! it's my last day at work until next weds as I am taking a few days off to go snow skiing at Canaan valley Wv. They are expecting snowfall all weekend. We are leaving first thing Friday morning so should be there Friday night. I will miss wife and kids and this is my first time away from them since they were born. It will be fun to have some guy time though with my buddies I guess. I will probably be on the slopes until late sunday since they have night skiing and will miss superbowl but have dvr'd it mostly for commercials.lol My teams are not playing sadly. I miss everyone here and I vow to visit more when I get back from Utah the following weekend in feb. as this place really keeps my spirit up especially this time of year! Have a great weekend everyone and enjoy those chicken wings on sunday!!!!
Good Morning, Folks.
The day between.
(Between 'Pines Day and Weekend Eve, that is.)
A day to relax, savor the past and anticipate the future.
And while you're at it, savor this:
Days to the Season: 286
Days to Christmas Day: 328
We are a scant 12 days off now from Milestone #2, the one quarter Season marker.
(So close to single digits!)
Another nice warm one yesterday but it was rainy and quite windy in the evening as a line of severe weather passed by, the same one which created the tornadoes earlier in the day to the west. (No damage for us.)
It is 47 degrees here right now and should be cooler than yesterday (albeit not as cold as tomorrow will be)!
You have a Thrilling Thursday and an Exciting Eve Anticipation, Everyone!
Good morning everyone!
We're closing in on the first weekend of February! In Ottawa, people seem ready to leave the coldest month of the year behind us. I don't mind January though. We had a good mix. A couple record setting days for warmth and also a stretch of very cold days where we were lucky to reach out of the -30c's! Judging by the long range forecast, there is no forecast for a warm or cold spell. This will be great for the outdoor rinks. It would be nice to have at least a few more weeks of enjoyment out of them.
Last night was relatively quiet. The gym was fun, as usual. The only real frustrating part right now is having to run 40 minutes for rehabilitating my knee. I've gotten over the fact that I cannot powerlift just yet, but 40 minutes on a treadmill isn't the greatest of times. It is all for a good cause, however. I can't wait to finally be medically cleared for high impact activities. The good news is that there is an end in sight. It can't be any later than the end of February. We'll see after my appointment next Thursday.
Lots of happenings on here. Congratulations, again, to ballcoach on his most excellent news of a baby! All the best health and happiness to his wife, too! Congratulations to Seawaters on her retirement part as well. Wonderful events!
Most of my colleagues are at a meeting this morning. I am left with only a few things to do... Or that I want to do. Have a great Thursday, everyone! The weekend (and February) is only a day away! Get ready to turn that calendar!
I agree. Great speech, Seawaters! The world needs more MEAN teachers. I'd be the same way - if I finally found a position. My favourite teacher was the exact same way and he was my most influential teacher. I'm sure that you had a similar effect on many students, too!
You are my favorite MEANie!
Thank you for giving us the honor of knowing first. We'll be sharing your excitement, your anticipation, even your nerves. Congratulations, pop-to-be!
I have missed so much the past couple of days. I am glad that I popped in tonight so I didn't miss the great news from Coach, of course! Congratulations again :]
I am exhausted so I am heading back to bed. I haven't slept well for a week or so, I could really use a good night's sleep. My stomach has been iffy for the past couple of days so I think once that goes away I will sleep better. We have really been having the wacky weather here. Six inches of snow, then it warmed up to almost 70 degrees today, and then tons and tons of rain. It's crazy! Tomorrow we're supposed to get snow and another 3 inches this weekend. I think I'll be taking vitamins to avoid getting sick!
I am going to try my best to catch up tomorrow since I have a day off. I hope you are all well and healthy. Praying for you and your families, as usual! Good night!!

...I don't have any news that can compare to Coach's news, so I'll just say...
I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Healthy children is all we can ask for, and I pray yours will be.
BTW, Brad is a pretty good boy's name! cheesy

Enjoy your retirement party. I would retire today if I could.
I just had a great idea!!! Would some of you post a note to me to read to the kids in my classroom about my last day as their teacher? I will get online and read them out loud to the kids. We are not really supposed to use the computer for personal stuff, but what are they going to do, fire me??? Also, could you congratulate Giordan for being Student of the Month and encourage him to keep up his improvement in behavior??? Thank you in advance for those who wish to do so!
Congratulations on your retirement Seawaters !!! May you have lots of time to surf and shop and all that you deserve to have time to do !! Big CONGRATULATIONS TO GIORDAN !!!!!!! Way to go !!!!
(((HUGS))) to all !! xo
Thank you, CM3. I will read that out loud just before the party! He will love it!
