Good morning, Christmas friends. It is a clear-sky, breezy beginning to Valentine's Day here in northern California. I went to the doctor yesterday, and she changed my meds because the pain was not becoming less. WOW! What a difference! I have one tablet that lasts for almost eight hours (really!!!) and then one other prescription I take for any break-through pain. (Well, it lasts actually closer to six and a half or seven hours, but who's counting?) I was amazed that I slept the WHOLE NIGHT, almost seven hours! I did have a lot of pain upon waking, but the meds quickly brought it under control! I feel so much more rested than I have in a long time!

It's upsetting that you're still in so much pain that it requires daily medications to control it. Is it supposed to eventually decrease and go away? I sure hope so. You've had enough suffering.

They're calling for 3 to 6 inches of snow on Saturday ... NO, it's too soon! Too soon! And the possibility of another snowstorm toward the end of next week. Somebody tell the Snow Miser to spread some around to the folks who've been wanting it! We've had our quota for a while.

Going to try a new hair salon closer to home tonight. Wish me luck.

I just noticed that my post should have read, "We're NOT going to be able to visit my beloved Smoky Mountains this weekend."

My hands don't move as fast as my brain sometimes.

Thats ok, I can relate to that. Sometimes my brain doesn't think as fast as my mouth moves... And that can lead to some interesting moments with the mrs....

And her response:

I guess that says it all......

Beautiful day here! Tomorrow night we are expecting snow flurries! Today I have sat outside on my porch swing soaking up some sun (not too much!) and reading some magazines. We brought our tortoise, Alvin, outside to roam around and soak up some sun too! He loves it out there. Then I went out for a bike ride.

They are interviewing people on the Triumph ship right now by phone on the news. They should have the ship in by this evening. It's really interesting to hear how people are doing on there. It's so weird to see that ship and to know that Wayne and I were on it last year! I know everyone is uncomfortable on there but thank God they are safe!

Now it's time for me to get some chores done!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Yes, it is supposed to decrease and should have a long time ago. I just could never get on top of the pain completely until now. We are also going to do some x-rays via CT/MRI or something to see if there is a cause for the continued pain. Of course, the thing that comes to mind is bone cancer, but I refuse to allow that to bring me down. Being basically pain-free for the first time in almost a year has really bolstered my spirits today. I mean it; the new meds have made ALL the difference! I feel like one of the lepers, the blind man, or the man who was lowered from the rooftop and healed by Jesus. I just cannot keep from saying how great it is to feel this way and to be almost human again!

I do wish you luck. Nothing like finding just the right hair salon. I will send the Lear to collect some snow for me!!!

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone. Things have been very busy. My wife's birthday is tomorrow, but we went out and celebrated Saturday. I have one more present left for her to open tomorrow, although I gave her her big one last weekend, and then something today. I promised I'd never combine her b-day and Valentine's day...that would be a rip off for her!

I found a Valentine's gift waiting for me, too. She got me the blu ray of Skyfall, so there's going to be some James Bond watching in my future, once all this birthday celebration is over.

I hope you all have a great Thursday!

Good afternoon everyone! I am on lunch break right now. Oh and Happy Valentines Day too! It's mine and Brandi's 3rd year together but 1st year married. We have no specific plans for tonight. I am just cooking a pork roast with mashed potato's and rolls and corn on the cobb. Brandi is out of school today and tomorrow on "winter Break" I think she goes back on Monday but does not get the kids back until Tuesday. This semester is just going by so fast. Oh and the househunt last weekend was good but my goodness I was spoiled by the low cost of living and houses in the southeast!! we are looking to rent at first maybe signing a year lease or less. but it has to be 3 bedrooms and a house no apts! or condo!! I loved Utah though it is beautiful!Anyways I better get back to work! Have a great afternoon though and enjoy your valentines day...don't eat too much chocolate!
Congratulations!

After the doctor's visit, Hubby and I went to Bed, Bath, and Beyond. We bought the crockpot combination I mentioned last week. I cannot wait to try it.

Thanks for all the gracious comments on the newspaper article. I am getting ready to go to the school to take care of the student body account for my classroom and will see the kids' reactions to the headline for the article. I will let you know what the kids say. TTYL
that is wonderful! Always a relief when pain takes a break for awhile

Glad the new meds are helping you so much!! That's wonderful. It's amazing the difference a good night of sleep makes. Hope it continues for you.

Can't wait to hear about the kids reaction ;) Have fun!
