Christmas Countdown - 2013

Another 'Pines Day has arrived. Yes, it is nearing the official midway point of the week and the weekend is just around the corner. Yesterday was quite the adventure. Someone had dropped a "suspicious package" at one of the main bus stops, which is one over from where I work. Anyway, they had to divert traffic from this spot. On top of this, it was also snowing pretty well. In the end, it took me about an hour and a half to get home from work. Normally, it is only a 15 minute trip. Frustrating. But something good came from the delay!

As we were slowly moving along with traffic, I noticed two Christmas-style guard figures (not Nutcrackers) standing outside a store. Then, between them there was a wreath on the door that said "Merry Christmas!" Could it be? Then I looked up at the signage and read "Tinseltown." Yes. Ottawa now has a year-round Christmas store! I wanted to exit the bus immediately. Tinseltown was calling my name! I cannot believe that I did not know of this store's existence until yesterday. After doing some research, I have discovered that it opened quite recently (sometime last year). I informed Kim of my discovery and we agreed that we must go very shortly. I think I may need a little Christmas (store) fix.

My plans were a little messed up with my delay yesterday, so I could only do my 40 minute run at the gym. It was boring as usual. Still, it is decent rehab for my knee. I have another appointment tomorrow. It could be my final appointment, or my doctor could also recommend I get a $500 PRP Injection, which could have me healed in a just over a month if it works... The only real problem is that $500 is a lot to come out of my pocket. Still, it is mighty worth it if it works. We shall see.

Anyway, I hope everyone has a great 'Pines Day! Carl has the place looking great.

Isn't it great that when you are forced to slow down in life that something amazing happens?!

500 bucks is a lot! I hope you are able to get that injection and heal quickly!

It is fairly amazing. It has been a while since I traveled down that part of Wellington Street.

It is a lot of money, especially since I've probably spent about $700 on my knee already. It's still improving and getting closer and closer, I just want to make sure that it entirely heals. The injection might be the best option.

Good Afternoon Everyone!!!!!! I'm so far behind on here it's not even funny. I'll try to get caught up later today or tomorrow. Mom is doing okay. Her handwriting is getting better but it's no where near where it use to be. It's probably better than mine though. She's walking pretty good too. She had the MRI this morning and it did show a spot on the brain. So they did another one with contrast. Now we just have to wait until tomorrow to see what the doctor says. I let her drive home from the hospital on the country roads and she did fine so she decided to go ahead and drive herself back to work. I don't know if she'll want to drive friday morning in the snow but at least I might get tomorrow off from driving her to work. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!

Lazy day here, still storming but not as bad as yesterday. We have not had this much snow for so many years I have forgotten how beautiful it makes everything look. Also forgot what a pain it can be to get around in! LOL

I'm wishing, really really wishing for some snow... Let's see, a good Noreaster would do right about now, and say dump about 5 feet of snow here... Yup, that would do it for me!

Since everyone's ringing in with their forecasts---they're telling us we might see plowable snow again this weekend. Third weekend in a row. xmastidings, this one's for you, if you want to come up and take a load back to Maryland ... the wind we had with it last Sunday should have blown it all the way to you!

With all the "war on Christmas" hype, it's nice to know that there's enough Christmas love out there to support year-round Christmas stores, especially recently opened ones.

I want snow too!

We got some sleet this morning but nothing more than rain and chilly for the rest of the day. It's a good day to stay in, get some cleaning done and watch a movie!

Happy Pines Day everyone! What crazy weather we have had this week. Monday I went to the lake, walked the bike path, grilled out for supper & by Tues morning it was so blasted cold & windy you couldn't stand to be outside more than a minute! Bone chilling! Gotta love Ohio! Today is miserably cold too! It has been snowing & blowing off & on all afternoon! Very pretty - from the inside, looking out!
