Hubby is always saying that he doesn't need hi-tech stuff. You should see his phone with its duct tape holding the battery cover in place. He hates to spend money on phones! He said he can always use mine if we are on a trip!

You win! I just got laughed at by co-workers at the office.
Mr. and I got ours at about the same time---both freebies with the phone contract---and I'm pretty sure mine goes back to about 2005. But it's functional. We haven't needed anything flashier so far.

You are such a good thinker and planner! Hmmm. That would be a good class you could take and even become a professional planner and a professional questioner who comes up with ideas to check out before making a purchase. Would that be a professional shopper?

Car trips we pack whatever and a lot since there is plenty of storage and have a couple of coolers full of food on top of that.

When I travel any other way it's all carry on luggage. You should have seen it when I use to travel by train for a 10 day vacation for myself and my 2 kids. I packed for the 3 of us in 2 carry on suitcases. I also hate to check in luggage. The whole key to making it work, make sure you check into a hotel with self laundry facilities. We find one day and only takes a little over an hour of our time to do laundry and you got clean clothes for the rest of the vacation. Basic clothes and shoes to mix and match where it doesn't appear you are wearing the same thing all the time.

I have been doing that for over 20 years because the first time I flew to Vegas I over packed and was miserable lugging all that luggage around. I was hurting all over and back went out! I learned right then and there and never again! =)

You are so right about her knowledge, CAH. I like how we each have our areas of knowledge or help that we can offer each other. That's one of the things that makes MMC so special.

You're full of vintage film and knitting advice! Nothing wrong with that!

One of these days I plan to take up knitting and you will hear from me with questions! =)

I am "home alone," and just checked the Kureig supply. SIL and BIL are at work, and Hubby is out with our nephew digging the area for his Eagle Scout project. I decided on Macadamia Nut Cookie coffee. SIL also has Island Coconut coffee.

Hm ... I still have a few bags of Creme Caramel tea here at the office ... maybe that's what I'll have for a pick-me-up this afternoon.

Oh CAH would be excellent at this !! She already is !! xoxo

Man, what mistakes were in this post, LOL! We came to Madera to visit SIL and BIL. Hubby, not Hobby, had to drive the truck with his trailer so he could bring all his tools. We also thought we would need to make a quick trip back home for a doctor's appointment and did not want to drive back in the truck, so we opted to bring two vehicles. I also needed access to a car with everyone having to be at other places during the day. However, it seems that most of my day has been on the computer so far to get caught up on MMC!!!

I AM having problems typing on this phone, so please forgive errors. Just south of Stockton waiting for Hobby who had a flat tire on the freeway. We are in separate cars which I will explain when I get to a really computer at SIL. TTYL8R. I did not want to type TTYL8R but I don't know how to turn off the blasted "automatic fill-in" on this phone until I get to Madera.

Yes, you have, XmasTidings! I don't mind, though, since it's the only snow I'll get, LOL!

Heh-Heh-Heh, things seem pretty quiet around here, a little too quiet! So, I just launched around 25 snowballs just to liven things up just a bit....

Gotcha......lol!!!!

Smart idea, Snowflake! Will you share your list? I hand-wrote mine on scratch paper, but I would like to make it better organized. Give that sweet baby a kiss from me!

Good evening, MMC!!

How are you all doing?

I feel like I got a lot accomplished today!
I did some studying, watched a lecture, did laundry, helped Adrian with some of his mailings, and finished sorting my DVD's. I made a list of all "Holiday" movies, and printed a Word document of them, and stored it in my tote with the movies. That way, when I go searching for one, I'll be able to find it much easier. I aslo alphabetized them.

It's such a nice night, that I think we'll take Harlowe for another walk.

Well, hope you're all having a great Wednesday!

See you at The Pines later!

Smart use of those coffee cups, Meceka. What is a cold frame? Hope you enjoy your book. I haven't read for a few days because of appointments, but I do plan to read some of SIL's magazines while I am here. She has several subscriptions that I don't have, so I am going to take advantage of reading hers!

Good evening, MMC!

My, it was a chilly day today. I took a walk around the yard - still soft in spots. There is a big ice block in the seasonal creek which could cause a flood in the back yard should we get the rain that is forecast for Easter. I do not mind rain, but I certainly do not want a flood. In the next day or so I am going to start some plants for the garden. There is huge stack of coffee take-out cups that I have saved. They are deep so hopefully there will be good roots formed! Might try to build a cold-frame, too. I've always wanted one, but we shall see. I am going to relax for the rest of the night and read some more of the biography of Saint Teresa of Avila I started reading a few days ago.

MERRY dreams!

Are you guys taking pictures as you go along? Great use for the phone!

Good evening everyone. Not a whole lot going on here tonight. My husband is doing some work in the kitchen right now. The only way this project is going to get done is if he does a little something every day. He's doing some plumbing work right now. I think I'm going to visit my daughter at work in a few minutes. She works at a frozen yogurt place, so I'll have to bring some home for everyone. I hope you are all having a wonderful night!

Absolutely!

...it's just an alphabetized list, including all movies that have to do w/ any holiday. Mostly Christmas, but some Halloween/Fall movies, etc.

I wonder if I'm able to attach a Word doc.? Anybody know? If not, I'll just copy & paste.

I will post a list later, when I can get onto my desktop ;)

P.S. Harlowe is sending some hugs & kisses back!! Xo

Praying for your co-worker and his family right now, Xmas. I was just reading an article last night on Patrick Swayze who had stage IV pancreatic cancer. He lived for two years after that diagnosis even though his doctors had given him only a few weeks to live. When asked how Patrick managed to outlive his prognosis for so long, his wife said that he "refused to accept limitations. Cancer wasn't going to tell him how to live his life." She also said they had lots of mini-miracles, like responding well to a clinical trial and experimental chemotherapy. She also said that when that stopped working, he had success with other chemos, and when other problems presented themselves, they seemed to be a way to fix them. Then she said, "Or maybe it was that so many people were praying for him. It just seemed like angels were watching over us." Your friend is so young to have to deal with this, but then, cancer is no respecter of persons!

Good evening,

Back from work, just watched my Bruins lose the game in a shootout. Just winding down now. Inventory went fine, just took my time and did a thorough job. I was looking at the hams I have left, I think I am going to run out of them on Friday the way it looks tonight. That never happens, I usually have more than enough. I am going to have some angry customers on Saturday. I will try to place an order for more tomorrow.

I have a special request tonight, a former coworker of mine is dying. He has been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He is only getting medication for the pain at this point. He is only 36 years old, and he took in his sisters 4 children within the last two year when she passed away during surgery. He also has 2 of his own children. If you could please keep him and his family in your thoughts it will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Good night everyone.
