Hey guys...I gotta tell you something. I had the nicest note tonight from Louann's sister, Margaret. She is so nice and gracious. I have extended an invite to her to stay here on MMC. If she does would one or more of your volunteer to show her the ropes and to explain how the countdown works and how to navigate the forums and such. It would be a delight to have her around as a regular.

Snowflake, I have at least a dozen of those Yorkie plates from Danbury Mint. They are so pretty I couldn't stop buying them. I don't even have them all out but I do rotate them. Some are seasonal!

Well, the Martins are flying...I'm watching around 15 birds swirling around in the wind....listening to some music....drinking some coffee....and thinking....
Went to the baby doctor today for an official gender check....
It's a girl.
A GIRL.
So on my way home, I enrolled in karate and a concealed weapons class.
A GIRL.
I was so excited to be able to have a son...teach them to spit sunflower seeds, turn double plays, teach them how to treat a woman....
But you know...now my wife is going to be so spoiled....because I will show our daughter how a woman is to be treated by a man....and while it's won't be a boy....a boy can't be Daddy's little girl.
She is going to have me wrapped around her little finger.....I'm in a lot of trouble...
I've already practiced the conversation for her first date....goes like this....
Boy: I'm here to pick up your daughter.
Me: No you're not. Leave.
Oh me....what am I going to do with a girl.....
We are going to name her after my grandmother....my Dad cried...special moments....
Well, I'm off to clean my gun.
Good morning everyone.
I have been absent a bit again. I apologize. Glad to see an outpouring of support for Louann. I haven't said it in this thread yet, but she'll be missed. There's a reason why the Countdown is in the Christmas Together section of MMC. We're in this together - like family. Together, we'll share the wonderful moments and remember those moments of the past as we countdown to the greatest time of the year.
For me, not much has changed. I'm still rehabbing my knee. It could be ready in a few weeks. I'm anxious. The snow is melting, weather is warming and soon the trees will be budding. We're nearly a month behind in Ottawa. Hopefully the forecast continues to improve... although it appears as if we may not see double digits until early next week.
I am going to try to be more active on MMC this month. I've just been real busy with work and searching for a stable job. My current job ends again mid-May and I will be very disappointed if I cannot find full-time employment as soon as my contract ends here. All I can do is keep trying. Again, it is quite a shame when someone with eight years of post-secondary education cannot find a position anywhere. Still, things could be worse.
I hope everyone has a great Tuesday. We're nearing another great visit to the 'Pines!
How WONDERFUL, Coach! I'll let you in on a secret I learned...little girls love their Daddy's the best!
And I recommend forgetting about concealed weapons. I suggest cleaning a shotgun in your lap while sitting in a rocking chair on the front porch, preferably when it's time for the boy to arrive. I'm not there yet (thank you, Lord!), but I have several shotguns that need regular cleaning. That usually happens on Saturday evenings...on the front porch.
When Elizabeth was born, I had no idea what I'd do with a girl. Now I wouldn't want to live a life without her in it. Little girls own your heart instantly. Good luck!
I'm so happy for you and your family! cheesy
Hmmm. I wonder if Bradmac has been invited as a professional/political courtesy?
absolutly, but he has to come in that official car of his!
