Hey guys I was going to post about my plans for the day. But I just read in another thread that today is Louanns funeral and Wishbone is not eating becaue he misses her. I am so weepy and sad. This is absolutely heartbreaking. I need to pray.

Oh yea, you got me there! 10 lbs...sheeesshhh, that's a bundle there... Let's see, the last words my wife said to the Anesthesiologist during the delivery of our second as the epidural kicked in was ..."I Love You....

I believe both of our children were around 7.6 lbs ea. The first one, my son, she unexpectedly delived natural, well, with a local injection only! She went to 2cm dialated to 8cm in about 2.3 seconds and the doctor was not at the hospital yet.

They had to assemble an emergency team from the staff on duty to delivery him and the umbilical cord was wrapped twice around his neck. So everytime she had a contraction, it was choking him. We almost lost him that day, he was delivered without a sound from him and they worked on him for about 30 minutes before we heard a cry. If it wasn't from the skill of the staff there on duty there that day, we would have possibly lost him...

So, I remind myself all the time, (now that he's a 20 year old and when you know just acts like, well, a 20 year old) Thank the lord for miracles!

Your son is a miracle!! I bet you feel extra blessed to have him in your life!!

Good Morning MMC!!!!! It's going to be rainy day here in central Indy with falling temps throughout the day. I don't have much going on today. I was thinking about starting my spring cleaning but I don't think I have enough energy. Plus I'm going to have my niece's all weekend so they would just mess it right back up. So I think I'm just going to do a light cleaning and then wait to see if my friend shows up. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think much work would get done with all of our talk about Christmas...and you making me laugh so much with that humour of yours! Hahahaha!

Don't worry, I'm not nearly as funny in real life.

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

Jacob and I finally went fishing yesterday afternoon. We caught a few 1 - 2 pound bass (I won't bore you with a story about "the one that got away"), nothing to write home about, but it was great to get back out on my Grandfather's pond. I know that pond like my own back yard, and it never changes.

My brother put the engine in the Camaro without me! I really wanted to be there, but I didn't complain. He's done so much for me on this project, there's no way I could complain. It looks great! I still have to get a starter, alternator, power steering pump, water pump, exhaust, etc. You know; minor details.

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

So, that's the x-ray over and done with. Took the opportunity to get some grocery shopping as well so I can lounge about for the next 3 days without having to worry about what we're going to eat.

The prime minister that died - Margaret Thatcher - resigned back in 1990 so she's not been on the scene for quite a while. Some of you might better know her through the movie The Iron Lady - Meryl Streep got an Oscar for playing her!!

I noticed on Louann's obit that her funeral service was last night but the interment is today. Is that usual?? Here it generally goes from the service immediately to the burial or cremation.

Just wondering......

Have a good day everybody!

Hi my beloved Christmas friends.

MChaney, Louanne´s niece has contacted me on facebook...because of work and the funeral she doesn´t have the time today to come on here....She wants You guys to know that poor little Wishbone is not doing well. The poor baby won´t eat...He is grieving...as we all do...just that he is very sick :(....Louanne was so concerened about him...it would be so sad if he has to die, too now....on the other hand...he would be reunited with his Momma!
MChaney also asked us for prayers today....for her, the family, loved ones and of course the furbabies.....

Dear Lord...
today, as Louanne´s body is laid to rest in her final place, I ask You to lay Your arms around her family and every who loved her, including all the members here on this message board and of course Louanne´s beloved furbabies, Wishbone, Clancy, Hermione, Smokey and Lilly....We all miss her, and are sure she is happy cradled in Your arms right now.....Please give comfort to all who are mourning our Angel....Amen

Louanne...You won´t ever be forgotten!!! You left Your fingerprints (from typing those beautiful messages) on in our hearts! Rest in Peace

Not sure. The ones I've been to are usually the wake/visitation the night before, the funeral mass the following day, and then the burial/cremation ceremony at the cemetery.

In our area, it generally goes by your own family's traditions. For my Dad we had the ministers and congregation come right to the funeral home for the service right before the burial, but the service doesn't have to be just before the person is buried. One of my friends had her service at the church the day before, with the coffin having to be carried up a long flight of stairs to get it into the Church itself. Others who may not be particularly religious often have just a gathering right before the burial, with friends and family members giving eulogies for the deceased. It really depends on what you want. Being a Church organist, I think I've seen it all when it comes to funerals, but I think the most involved funeral/ viewings I ever saw was for a friend of my Dad's that was very involved in his church and in the Masonic order. He had several services during the different viewings (Three day viewing, twice a day) presented by different branches of the Masons, and then he had a huge religious service just before burial. So, it can be pretty much anything you and your family want to arrange.

I'm sure Louann was as friendly and kind in 'real life' as she was to everyone in MMC, so I'm sure her service was packed with friends and relations. I wish I could have traveled to it and participated.

PHEW - back online after nearly 48 hours without! Darn Comcast! I missed the Valerie chat, grrr!!

Good morning Shellie! One of my yorkies is like your boxer, very needy. She would let me rub her belly all day, lol.
So sad about the prime minister, can't believe how disrespectful people can be.
Hope you have a wonderful day!

it sounds a wee cutie to. guess ma not that sad about it, never knew her way. but hell its not good in england they are having party,s. wood you beleive it, as well its taking 10 million to bury her as she is having a big funerial that i take is not right as that money could go towards a lot of better things. out health service is a disgrace, and there is so many outta jobs

I wouldn't say it's unusal, but it's not common. It happens a lot when the family wants the funeral to be open to the public and the burial to just be a family event. Also when the funeral is later at night like Louann's was, it is pretty common.

Having the visitation and then the funeral back to back is almost standard here anymore. It's kind of bad to say but it's just cheaper that way.
