I am 90 miles west of Boston, MerryCarey was flying home from Maryland today. I hope she got in and home already if she was flying in to Logan in Boston. Boston is being evacuated as we speak, this is scary stuff, they found two more explosive devices at the finish line area and are disarming them now.

I've got the scanner on and it sounds like one of the devices was found at the library. I'm not sure about the second.

Rachron I believe is southeast of Boston, I hope we hear from him soon, today is a holiday in Massachusetts, Patriot's Day, so I know a lot of people go into Boston on Patriot's Day for the Marathon and the Red Sox game which ended not too long before the explosions. I am not too familiar with the area where it happened.

Normally the Elks have reservations at many of the hotels around the cities where the conventions are held. If anyone is serious about meeting up in Indy, I would suggest looking for reservations now. I will be staying with the California-Hawaii delegation. All the states will be assigned a specific hotel. I will try to find out where they will be. The hotels do not reserve all the rooms just for Elks; there are still rooms available for regular customers. Oh, man. I hope many of you can be there. This will be so much fun!!!

like I said , only a 7 hour drive for me so I will be there. Let us know and I will get on it right away. Thanks, I am excited already!

NOw they are saying there was an explosion at JFK public Library but not sure of the severity...I hate when things like this happene because when it first happens every news reporter says something different. But like Xmas said also that 2 more bombs were found but dismantled. I am glad Merrycarey was not at work today,, I hear today is like a holiday in Boston anyways, which could be a good thing that more people were at home.

Wow it looks like there was 2 explosions at the Boston marathon finish line...looks like some folks got injured..the pictures look really bad...it just happened..gosh I hope this is not too bad.! anyways this is not a good thing to see just as you turn on the tv!!

I've got it on too. It looks pretty bad. Fox just said 2 confirmed dead and some of the video's showed what appeared to be amputee's.

Okay so that is what I saw..the guy in the wheelchair I kind of thought looked like his leg was missing but I did not know If my eyes were playing tricks on me. He must have been in shock because he looked pretty calm..wow bad stuff.

Yeah it sounds like one explosion to draw the first responders in and then a second to injure as many people as possible.

I am praying for all those in Boston, and praying for our nation. This craziness has got to end.

I know we have some MMC folks in Mass. Is everyone from the area on MMC accounting for?

If this was terrorist,not saying it is but IF it is I think it would be the first attack since 9/11. Then you have to determine was it domestic or international ie.9/11 style attack. There was the London subway bombings which I was living there then,then the Madrid subway attacks. It could be something totally innocent like a gas line rupture but it does not look like it to me. It stinks we like in a world like this nowadays. Im glad there is still good in the world like Christmas!!! We need all the cheer we can get!
Brandi has not come home yet but she grew up in Boston,sure she will be interested in this story. MerryCarey do you work downtown?? they said they have shut down all cell service in Boston right now.

I am praying, too. So tragic & sad.

Hello everyone. I hope you are all having a great day so far. My youngest ended up coming home from school today because she didn't feel well and I decided to take her to the doctor. She was sick a couple of weeks ago and she has a cough that just wont go away. But the doctor said she sounds fine. Sometimes those coughs linger for awhile. Anyway, I was trying to catch up with some chores when my mother called and told me to put on the news. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by the bombings in Boston. It's so sad.

Boston police said there was an explosion at the JFK Library 30 minutes ago, they don't know if it is related, but treating it as it is.

Can't believe it's already 5 I don't know what is for supper..to tell you the truth since I had a large breakfast I am still not hungry...I think we are having meatloaf,I sure hate to have to go cook it,but me and B. are stuck to the news right now so maybe we will have a late dinner. They have postponed tonight's Bruins vs Senators game, that is definitely the right thing to do, my thoughts are with all the victims.

They also have shut down Logan Airport in Boston, I hope MerryCarey is in.

Listening to the scanner, they have the Bomb dogs from the airport out checking suspicious packages around town because they are being overwhelmed right now.

Some have speculated on the news that is will more than likely end up being a Unabomber lone wolf type accident. not like 9/11 where a very large structured group was behind it.. I bet they will know everything in the next few days..I just hope it is some lone weido behind this and not some big thing we have to start worrying about everytime we go to a ballgame or something like that..jeeze the world is just so dangerous right now...anyways I just put in a meat loaf I half heartedly did it so who knows how it will turn out.. Stephen Baldwin got fired on Celebrity Apprentice last night..I slept through it as usual and had to google it just now...Does anyone else watch this show? I wait for it all year then I always forget it's on Sunday night and miss it! anyway I am waiting on my meatloaf to get done when Brandi informs me we are having fried fish..well SHe can go out and fry the fish in my oudoor fryer but I am eating meatloaf..I think we could be having a communication problem here lately. I had to turn off the news just too depressing but I am praying for all that were hurt or had to witness this in person..it really can be traumatizing to see things like that. Half the soldiers coming home from war end up with PTSD from seeing people getting blown apart.(sorry) but it's true. I will check back in after dinner..!
