Christmas Countdown - 2013

Good Thursday afternoon everyone. Hope all stay safe from the storms in the midwest. Not much going on here. High School baseball is back after last week's spring break. We lost Tuesday and play again Friday.

I believe I said before, my son a HS junior, plays and has covered high school baseball for our weekly newspaper for the last 3 years. Since there were no games last week, he was asked to write about how the county's middle school baseball team's season was going. Our newspaper is now partially available online so please excuse me for boasting but here is a link to his latest article;

He loves baseball and wants to be a writer so it is good experience to have to write a weekly article and meet a deadline.

It just premiered last night. It's based on the Grand River Singers from my hometown of La Crosse. Going to be interesting & filled with drama, drama, drama!! But it's neat to see La Crosse & all of my old stomping grounds!!!

Good Morning!

Ran the air conditioner last night, it has been very warm the past few days, almost 90 degrees. Woke up to very chilly weather, 48 degrees and rainy right now. It will be cool the rest of the week. Yay!

My granddaughter is with my mom right now but will be here in a few minutes. Thanks to those who have been asking about her, she is feeling so much better!

We had a busy day, we went on a 3 mile hike today around Lunden Pond and up Peaked Mountain. My legs are feeling it but the boys did a great job, I got some great pictures I will post soon enough. We saw snakes, tadpoles, salamanders, and hawks, nothing cute and cuddly though. Watching the Sox now, and relaxing.

I'll be hanging around all evening. ttyl

Sounds like you had fun and got to see a little of mother nature... As soon as I am recovered from the knee surgery, I will be out and about myself as well.... Gotta loose some of the winter blanket that sort of gathers around the middle........:lol:

We are under a severe thunderstorm watch, on the way home it was raining so hard I could hardly see where I was going. It is stopped right now, but there is more to come.

Nice to be home and relax. Have to finish off a few more pieces for the cake.

I had a few minutes and was looking at the weather at my new home in Utah and it is 28F right now and in mid to late April they are under a freeze watch!!! this is awesome..this coming winter I am going to have more snow probably than I ever wanted to see. I liked living In ga because the once or 2 times a year I drove up to the Mts to see snow was that much more special. But to actually have the white stuff falling outside my home next year gives me the butterflies in my stomach...People that always see it just don't realize how special it can be. I already picture us putting up the tree with snow falling outside and the fireplace crackling. I may even see snow before Halloween!

When the oppourtunity presents itself, please post some pictures of it....:thumbsup:

Good evening! I just got back from walking the dogs. It is starting to drizzle out now but the rain is supposed to be gone by morning. Two of my girls are doing homework and one is working. My daughter called me from her job earlier and told me the managers want to train her to be a key holder. She sounded excited, said there will be a two dollar per hour raise. She will fill me in on the details later. And my husband got home from work a little while ago and is working in the living room tonight. We had a mirrored wall that he decided he didn't want anymore so he took it down. I had to hide in my room with the animals for a little bit because it was kind if noisy and they were scared. Anyway I hear the vacuum so he should be finished soon. He said he will start hanging sheetrock tomorrow night. That will make me happy. All I have seen him do lately is demolish things!
