Does anyone have cicadas?

Glad the party was a good one. Is it some sort of holiday tomorrow? Oh, wait..., LOL!

Hello :-D
The graduation party was very nice. I can't believe how fast these kids are growing up. It's amazing. I just finished cleaning up the kitchen from dinner and I really need to catch up with some chores now. I didn't do any laundry today, I have to get a couple of loads done or I will be sorry tomorrow. Other than that, I am staying in and taking it easy for the rest of the night.
Hope everyone is having a great day so far!!!

I was watching the Nascar race and all of a sudden a familiar face popped on the screen. Yes, Carl has gone hollywood on us.

Definitely that's Carl!

I'm all out, but they do stay crispy in milk. cheesy

 So funny and disgusting at the same time! I haven't seen any since my childhood---it was scary to suddenly come across one in the grass, especially barefoot. I remember how they sounded in the summertime.

Same here---I've only been to concerts of local groups (barbershop choruses, etc.)---I've never been to a rock concert. We saw Straight No Chaser twice, and I saw Woody Herman and his band at a concert at my high school when I was a student back in the 1970s. Otherwise, just recorded music (and lots of it).

I would love to see Straight No Chaser and have always wanted to see Transiberian Orchestra.

I have seen a lot of rock concerts in my teens and early 20's then did not start going to them again until about 7 years ago. I have seen Journey, Ozzy (3 times), Guns n Roses, Alice Cooper (twice), Styx, Foreigner, Ted Nugent (twice) Sammy Hagar, Van Halen, Rush (twice), Loverboy (3 times), Triumph, Kiss, Judas Priest, 38 Special, Motley Crue, Dire Straits, Bryan Adams and there are some more that I cannot think of right now. The funny thing is, I am not that big of a fan of some of these groups I mentioned. It was one of those things where someone had tickets and invited me to go. Something to do I guess. Out of all of them, just not much into Ozzy, Judas Priest, Motley Crue or Alice Cooper but they put on a good show at the time. I still love Journey and Rush!!! The rest are okay.

I have seen Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians many times but she was from here where I live. We saw her locally quite a bit then on tour she they got a record deal. Not sure if you heard of her but she was big in the late 80's and is now married to Paul Simon. I still love their music and listen to it often.

Wayne and I seen Rain 4 times. A Beatles tribute band that was on Broadway for awhile. They toured here in town a couple of times. We plan to see them again when they return.

Of course the best concert ever and plan to see him again and again will be Sir Paul McCartney!!! Seen him 3 times so far and ready to go again! We have traveled to other towns to see him twice, stayed the night and came back the next day. Just like we did several days ago.

Now we need to go see Straight No Chaser and Transiberian Orchestra!

WOW! That is a lot of concerts!

That's right, I did see a Beatles tribute band last year. I forgot all about that. The biggest problem for myself is that all my favorite groups and artists are either broken up, or passed on.

My favorite, Roy Wood, is in Great Britain and rarely tours the US.

I know what you mean! It would be really nice to see The Beatles!!!!! Then to the other extreme on the music genre, I would love to see Patsy Cline! She has an amazing voice. I love her music!

I forgot to mention that we saw a Blues Brothers Tribute band and few other Beatles tribute bands but Rain was the best!

I love the Blues Brothers, I have a couple of their CD's. I have always loved the original movie, ever since my parents took me to see it at a drive in when I was 5 years old, not really appropriate for that age but I have loved it since then.

Not compared to what is out there today! Very innocent! Ha ha!

My parents took me to see it when I was in my early teens. I remember the audience laughing through the whole movie. I love the Blues Brothers movie and their music.

Made, after we decided on the name Maris it dawned on me about MAR being part of her name so I figured you should be happy about that! I am glad you noticed it.

I didn't watch the show. What is the significance of the choice? I like to learn how people and animals get their names; it is really interesting to me.

I am not really sure! Wayne mentioned the name the other day and I thought of the eccentric and uptight Maris on Frazier. I didn't want my sweet baby thought of that way but I thought the name was different and cute for her. It's not a name I have heard for someone's pet and that's another reason. I am sure someone out there has that name for their pet but I don't know anyone personally. Anyway, we thought over a few names and that one just stuck with us.

Not sure how many post I have missed and skipped over but a little busy here and keep having to leave the computer. Not sure I will be able to catch up but will do my best later.

Take care my Christmas friends!
