Happy memorial day!

Merrymistletoe- I hope your daughters surgery goes very well! And congratulations to your son!

It is so chilly outside today! So far it is rainy and yucky! Hopefully it will improve this afternoon. We don't have any plans today. We are still at the lake, I am sitting in my chair crocheting right now! LOL! My hubby went uptown to get breakfast but I did not feel like getting ready to go anywhere, so I am sitting in my chair watching TV and Working on my afghan! :)

I am going to go back and read some posts – it looks like you all have been busy on here since I was last on Thursday. :)

I hope you are all having a wonderful memorial day weekend, while remembering our servicemen and women all over the world!

Merrymistletoe, congratulations to Will. That is wonderful news.
It is so nice to see you, I hope you are feeling well. I am sending up prayers for you and your daughter.
See you at the bbq :-D

I will try to leave you all alone with all this Paul McCartney stuff but wanted you to see these 2 videos that we took. The whole experience is like Christmas to me! :D

This first one is to show you how close we are. You will see me pop my face into the screen briefly so you can tell how close. I am amazed because he was a dot on the stage in the past. Front row tickets cost $2000.00 face value (includes sound check) rows 2-5 are $1500.00 (includes sound check) so us getting these seats for a much lower cost is a dream come true and we had the view they had (to the side of course)! This is before his first encore, you will also see where Paul walks off behind stage. Not too many people can see him in that area.

The second video is his song, Live and Let Die, with lots of pyrotechnics. Being that close you could really feel the burn and the floor shake! Even when I saw him at Cowboys Stadium in nosebleed seats you could feel the heat.

If you're not interested in the song you can skip to, 0:25, to see the explosions.
Sorry the video is shaky, we are amateurs.

A Frasier fan, right?
:snowball:

Oh yes, love that show! I guess you don't remember you and I talking about this before. I knew you were a fan. That Maris is a mess even though we never see her. Ha ha! My Maris is a mess but in a much more positive way than Maris on Frazier! =)

Good morning, MMC!

Gorgeous out right now. I am going to take advantage of the beautiful weather and clean and organize in the utility room. Wish me luck!

Have a MERRY day!!

Good luck!! Xo

In honor of Memorial Day, I'd like to share a famous poem that our CEO often shares with us in an e-mail before the office closes for the holiday. It was written by Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae of Canada, during the First World War.

"In Flanders Fields"

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

The story of how the poem came to be written is told on this website.

I thought you and I have talked about his before! I must be getting old again.

After a series of gray, wet, chilly days, we have brilliant sunshine today, and it's supposed to get to the low 70s(F). Hooray!

After today, a four-day workweek, and then we're off for a week to visit dear Gloria! (That's her above, squashing her nose against the window.)
