I was watching the Nascar race and all of a sudden a familiar face popped on the screen. Yes, Carl has gone hollywood on us.

Oh, that is so Carl!

Good night everyone!!!

Does anyone have cicadas?

No, That's funny, because I was just wondering where are they? I mean all I kept on hearing about on the news was this cicada event that was going to take us by swarm... lol get it, by swarm...

No seriously, I have not seen a one, yet....

A nice day. The sun finally came out this afternoon, although it was windy and very chilly. We went out for lunch with a friend who in the past has had a tendency to be prickly and acidic at times, but today she was cheerful and just as nice as pie. So we had a very pleasant visit, and we're going to have her over in July to see our Technicolor print of "Stars and Stripes Forever," at her request. Mr. went out to visit his mom for a while, so I loaded up the iPad with plenty of music and videos for our upcoming vacation travel. Then we watched the end of the Memorial Day concert in D.C., watched The Two Ronnies on DVD for a while and are about to hit the sack. Looking forward to the day off tomorrow.

Remember to spare a thought or a prayer tomorrow for those who have given their lives in service to our country; Mr. Lincoln called it "the last full measure of devotion."

Good night and pleasant dreams, everyone.

I seem to remember them coming out later in the summer, say in July.

Good Morning, Friends!

Well, here we are once again at the begining of yet another week.
They are coming and going like ghosts.

Let's take a look at today's haunting figures:
Days to the Season: 170
Days to Christmas Day: 212
Barely 12 days away now from the grand opening of the 200-day Christmas Day Window!
(Now, that's really scary!)

A touch warmer yesterday but really nice, with still low humidity figures, plenty of sun and no precip of any kind.
The kind of weather that makes you want to sit on your front porch and watch the world go by.
We have started the new week with 54 degrees here in the capital city.

You have a Marvelous Monday, Folks.
And here's hoping your new week is off to a great start!

My little dog, Maris, is keeping us busy. It's like having a toddler in the house but overall, she is doing very well! No matter what we must keep an eye on her at all times to make sure she don't hurt herself, get into things she is not allowed to be in and watch for potty habits. She has lived in the streets and has never been in a home so we are teaching her how to live here with a very gentle approach, it's the only way to to do it and it works! We also keep plenty of chew toys around to distract her from the things she is not allowed to have. We already have a round of her immunization shots done and getting her spayed Wednesday. When she is caught up on all shots we are anxious to take her on outings. She does really well with everyone and loves children so I know she will love going on outings. My other dogs seem to do fine with her so I am glad of that. She has done fantastic so far, adjusting well and we are proud of her!

No big plans for us today. We are closed today at work but Wayne and I will go in to feed all the critters. Not sure what else we will be doing, maybe just rest!

I hope everyone has a nice Memorial Day!

That is wonderful CAH, I'm very happy to hear Maris is adjusting so well.

Good morning, friends~

Today, we celebrate freedom, but remember the cost.

To all of those in the military, and their families, thank you for the sacrifices you've made.
