Christmas Countdown - 2013

I downloaded a general countdown app, took a shot of it:

And you can make a countdown for any event here! They have default pics, or you can upload one from your camera roll. That's what I did.

I have a Halloween background app:

I also have a countdown to vacation that I made, put family birthdays in there, etc. Best countdown app IMO!!

You title your own countdown, set the date & time, put in your background, and it's pretty much done!

Come to Oklahoma. After three weeks of spring (aka severe weather) it has jumped right to summer! cheesy

I am sure it will hit here soon too, just is taking a long time this year. Soon we will also be complaining about how hot it is.

Snowflake, I just downloaded the apps. This is great! I can make all sorts of countdown apps. I'm a sucker for the countdowns, for some reason.

I know we have a Christmas Blossoms thread (which I love!) but maybe during the heat of the summer we need to post some fall blossoms! Snap some pictures of fall decor we see and share so we can all long for those days when the leaves change and it is not 100 degrees!

Hello everyone. Sadly, vacation has come to an end.

I spend last evening applying for various jobs online. I really hope I hear back from some of them. I am blessed to have a job now, but I know this is not what I want to do career wise, and I am ready to move on and find my career.

How is everyone doing? I downloaded a Halloween countdown app yesterday and it got me excited! I always start the Christmas season November 1. I know we have a long summer to get through, but the fall will be here before we know it! :???:
Speaking of a long summer...highs may hit 100 this week here in Oklahoma! They will at least be high 90s.

It is always hard when vacation is over. We will be praying for your job search. I don't envy you with those temps.

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

Mom's birthday party Saturday night was a great success! We had about 80 people, and they were all able to keep the secret, so she was super surprised when she arrived. My brother has a 1930 Model A Ford that he stores at his shop, and he picked her up at home in it. We told her we were all just going out to eat for her birthday, but he brought her out to the masonic lodge where the party was setup, and she started crying. LOL

We finished up around 11pm, and I was beat from jousting with the huge charcoal grill. I cooked 120 hamburgers and 140 hotdogs. Whew! But it was a blast.

I spend most of the day yesterday cleaning up the lodge and returning everything we had borrowed for the party. It was fun, but now I'm glad it's behind us.

This week, we have Vacation Bible School, so I have to get back to work.

Glad your mom's birthday party went so well. Several years ago we did a similar party fopr my dad's 75th. Great memories, hope you took a lot of pictures.

Our the Vacation Bible School is in July. My wife is director this year. She keeps trying to assign me more duties. I'm trying to be like Nancy Reagan and just say 'no' but it isn't working.

When are y'all headed for the mountains? Hwy 441 across the GSM Parkway is open again.

Haha...I hear that! I've been in those types of situations where I tried to say no too. The tasks still kept coming though.

My kids are at VBS this morning at my in-laws' church. Our church is going to several camps this year, but with our facilities being used in storm relief efforts and our volunteer force spread pretty thin with clean-up efforts, looks like we won't be having a VBS this year.

Our summer is almost completely filled with church functions, from VBS to Camp Meeting to Walk to Emmaus. It looks like it might be the end of July before we can go. I'm so ready!

Good luck with the job search! And I know how you feel about longing for fall! I am full on Autumn mode all of summer...and tech. summer has not even arrived yet!! Just 120 days or so until I drag the Halloween décor out...it's just such an amazing time of year!

Well, we check out in the morning, spend one last day with Gloria, and start our long trek home tomorrow night. I always feel so sad to leave our beautiful surroundings, and we always miss Gloria terribly, and it's tough to go back to everyday work and worries. But we've had some beautiful times here to remember. And Gloria is determined to master her iPad so she can stay in touch via email. We'll be back home Tuesday evening.

Have a safe trip home and I hope you get back into the swing of things soon! The post vacation blues are hard to get over!
