Traveling mercies to you, MGRamsey. Have fun at the ball game. I don't envy you the heat and humidity, but I do envy your being able to have livermush, fish camp food, RO's bbq, Cheerwine, Duke's mayonnaise and Tony's ice cream.

TGIF everyone. After some heavy thunderstorms yesterday afternoon, we are looking at a couple of nice days. The forecast high today is 79 today with a low of 52 tonight. During the summer here is it still cools off at night, our lows are usually in the mid to upper 50s.

Saturday we are making the 3 hour drive down to see my parents for Fathers' day. My brother and I are taking Dad to see a minor league baseball game in Charlotte. My son is also going so we will have 3 generations there. Baseball and family vacations are the only really good things about summer.

The Elks have a special program they do for Flag Day that is really special. We have the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts present the flags as we tell the history of each one. Very impressive.

Just a reminder that today is Flag Day in the U.S.---remember to salute Old Glory and wish her a happy birthday!



If you can guarantee sunshine, I'll take three days' worth, thank you!

Good morning, MMC! The wind really blew last night, and I did not sleep well, ugh! We had a great dinner at the Red Bluff Elks last night. I had halibut, and Hubby had steak. When I went to the doctor last Monday, I had lost another 10 pounds, but will probably get those back if we keep eating all those good dinners, LOL! I have lots to do, but I will stay signed in and will check in every once in a while. TTYL

We will probably hit ROs and Tony's while we are there. I'll have to have a Tony's milkshake for Fathers' day. Probably have a BQ sandwich from ROs before we head to the baseball game Saturday. I usually take a pint of ROs BQ slaw back home to the mountains with me.

Binger's been missing for a few days now. I have to agree, it must be coffee-related. Perhaps our friend is en route to Columbia trying to trace the Heaven-sent Manna to its source?

Keeping with the Vintage Theme, I found this online for Flag Day. That date is June 14th as well!

a cake to do and my get up and go is gone!
Had to run out and buy another cake board, thought I still had a pile but I was wrong.
So got the board, fondant made, icing made, cake baked, if only I could snap my fingers and have it all just come together and be instantly ready to decorate! LOL
I will take a short break and then get to it.
