Happy Father's Day!

Beautifully said, Ryan!

Happy Father's Day and happy Sunday. Maybe it should be "Male Role Model Appreciation Day" instead. I don't have a traditional father/son relationship with my dad, to say the least. But, a man from church stepped in and to this day is like a father to me. So, guys, even if you aren't a dad, I bet you mean the world to someone out there!

Have a great day everyone!

Ballcoach, wonderful story - you are definitely going to be a great dad! Great job on the Countdown!

Festive Spirit, I hope you are better soon!

Christmasstar, I hope you are better soon, too! So sweet of you to make a cake on such short notice!

track, sorry Kandice's team lost the games, but so glad they were still happy! I hope the mosquito problem in your area gets fixed quick!

Be safe and MERRY, everyone!!!

Checking in with an update: the unwanted visitor is still residing in my attic - at least I think it is. I certainly am not going to go up and look for it myself! Hopefully the places I called will return calls tomorrow and someone will be able to come out and find/remove it for me! It wouldn't be so bad if I knew it was just a garter snake. Not that I want it in the house, but at least I would know what I was dealing with. I don't have a clue what kind it is or how it got in the house to begin with and that is what has me so scared. Thank you, everyone, for all the thoughts and prayers!!!

I hope someone comes out and does it cheap! Are you sleeping okay? Glad to hear from you.

Thank you for letting us see a glimpse into your past, Coach!

Day 2 of Ballcoach's Countdown....

Days to the Season: 150
Days to Christmas Day: 192

Tomorrow, it will go back to Crown....thank you for letting me do this for a couple of days! It's always fun...

Before I go....a quick story. When I coached my first baseball game, my Dad was there to support me. We didn't win...we lost in extra innings....but he gave me advice that day that would stick with me through the coming years of my professional life. We made a couple of base running errors that cost us the game and he told me after it was over...

Son, just take care of the little things and you will be alright.

Fast forward eight years to the last state tourney I coached in. We won our first quarter final game in school history by "doing the little things." After it was over, he put his arm around me....told me how proud he was of me...and jokingly reminded me that he was the reason I was there....because I took his saying to heart.

Well, I'm where I'm at today....because my Dad modeled taking care of the little things for me when I was a kid....and when my daughter is born...I will continue taking care of the little things, just like my Dad did....

Happy Father's Day!

Coach,
When did your state start growing rice? The town in which I live is noted for rice. In fact, I think we are ninth in rice production in the world, or maybe just the US--can't remember. Do you guys have mosguito abatement?

Track, ours show up in about two weeks....as soon as our farmers start flooding the rice, we get swarmed.

I really hope you can find someone who will not charge a lot to relocate the little critter for you.

Once I relax I sleep fairly good. Not so easy to relax, though!

I really hope you can find someone who will not charge a lot to relocate the little critter for you.

At this point, I am willing to sacrifice my vacation and retirement funds, what little there are in them! Since that particular critter is among my least favorites, any size is too long!!

Palmer watching me as I browse MMC!

Kandoce' s team lost both games....they were stiol happy.....had some ice cream and took a nice walk along our river

Sometimes ice cream is better than winning. (Unless the Bruins are involved) cheesy

Happy Father's Day!

Thank you for leading the countdown, coach. It was a true pleasure to read this today. It may sound strange, but congratulations on your last father's day as "not a father." I do know how else to say it. I'm sure it will be much more exciting next year!! Big changes lie ahead!

Just thought I would quickly point out that this year's countdown is far exceeding last year's record setting pace. We did not reach post # 23861 until August 30th last year. I apologize for not being around as much this year, but keep up the great work, friends! Christmas in July lies ahead!!
