Thank you! There aren't any views to be had around here---we're in a residential/retail area---but I'm hoping to get a window so I can put my little barn (one of my dad's childhood toys) on the sill. At Christmastime I put the little characters from Rudolph in there and put the Bumble on the roof. I'd miss that.

Was the name inspired by Jean Harlow, the movie actress? (She was the 1930s version of Marilyn Monroe.)

Well, we did finally get a little rain last night. Rain gauge says 3/4" this morning I don't think my hubby emptied it all week though, so we probably got about 1/2" last night! We could use a little more. It feels great outside this morning!!

You never know. My niece was supposed to get a call after her job interview by a Friday, but didn't get the call until the following week & the job was hers! Keep your chin up!!

Happy Friday!!! I have another 75 minutes of work until vacation time!!!! YAY!!! Unfortunately our community has been saddened again - a young mother of 3 youg kids (she was 36) was killed in a car accident last night! She pulled out infront of a semi. Thankfully she was by herself. But it's just so sad! Her & her hubby are awesome people & our town is in shock this morning. My hubby's sister/husband are good friends with them. Can't really think about anything else! Please send up a prayer for her friends & family! Makes you wonder what is going on! So many tragic things around here already this year!!

On a lighter note...we have a wedding tomorrow (our good friends daughter) & no plans Sunday/Monday/Tuesday - we will probably be staying at the lake. Wed is a 4th of July party at our friends & then back to no plans except being at the lake Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun!! :grin: Two other couple that we run around with are on vacation all week too, so we might do a little golfing/boating/convertible riding/bicycle riding... flying by the seat of our pants! Lol!

I think Harlowe is a perfect name for her. Our baby goes in next week to get the lump removed from her neck. I will hate to see her in pain right after she gets home. Prayers for Harlowe!

Well, I always loved Jean Harlow & thought she was a beautiful actress.

And when Adrian & I were trying to decide on a name for her, Harlowe was the only one we could agree on!

So, we added an E since I spell my name with an E. I suggested the idea of giving her Jean as a middle name as an homage to Jean Harlowe & my admiration of her..

I also call Har my little beauty queen, so it works!!

Oh, just a funny little story, when we adopted Har from our friends, their daughters had named her Mariposa, after their Barbie..so cute...but we had to pick our own name for her. She definitely is a Harlowe <3

Xmas Tidings, I hope you feel better soon. Don't skip the meds, even when you feel better. Take it all! (Not at one time, obviously)

Ugghh; I can't believe this, my left eye was bothering me all day at work yesterday, so I go to one of those walk-in clinics late last night and they tell me that I have pink eye! I have never had that (to my knowledge) in my life... They gave me drops to use and I did; but it kept me up half the night last night. So, this morning when I get up and go look in the mirror, the whole lower part of my face (right under my eye) is all swollen up, my throat is sore and my ears hurts...Looks like I need to make a trip to see my personal doctor this morning to get some antibiotics!

This is a lovely way to start a Friday or any other day that is! :x

My ear had become "stopped up," so I went to the doctor. She gave me some drops to begin on Saturday. They tried an ear wash, but it really didn't work. Then they used a long instrument to get out some wax, but the assistant stuck it too far and I almost came out of the chair! I am supposed to start some drops Saturday.

snowflake, thanks for the compliment on the barn! Yes, it is meaningful to me. As for the office---I think I'm the only one who decorates for Christmas. I also put a lighted tree on my desk (it has a frame made of coat hangers, covered with a string of lights and tinsel.) Funny that nobody else decorates, but I always get compliments on my tree! Around Thanksgiving someone usually asks me if I will be bringing it in again.

I can see it ... but I checked with someone on the Crew to see if anything was wrong, and that member couldn't see it. So there's currently some kind of glitch whereby some of us can see it but others don't.

Snowflake is out and about but she wanted me to let you all know that Harlowe did great during the procedure and is awake and alert now. She can pick her up in 3 hours!!!

If you can't see the Kringle Radio player, but you have the TuneIn Radio app on your iPad, tablet, or smartphone, you should be able to listen by adding the custom URL to your favorites.

Open the TuneIn Radio app.

Tap the "Add new custom URL" button. A window will pop up. (If you don't see the option for adding a custom URL, it may be because you are not a registered user; if you register with an e-mail address and password, the option should appear.)

Copy and paste in (rather than type in) the URL in the "Search or add URL" space. (Pasting will avoid any possible typos. Or type VERY carefully.) The URL is:

Ignore the "No results found ..." bit. Below the gray bar that says "Custom URL," tap the "Custom Stream." (If you're using something that's not an iPad, this may look different.)

Voila ... it should buffer and begin to play.

To save it to your favorites, tap the heart at the bottom of the screen. A box will pop up asking what you want to name it. Type in "Kringle Radio" (or whatever) and tap OK. It should show up in your Favorites list.

Yup, I can see that, but in the area where it says, "Listen to Kringle radio via...", is just a # sign....

I didn't have Java installed on my computer at all. So, I downloaded it, and I did the updates and then got out and then back into MMC,....and it showed no change!
