Depends who you ask! Southerners consider us Yankees, and New Englanders think we have Southern drawls. So I just say it's a mid-Atlantic state. The heart of the state is a pretty place, and full of history. Visit Frederick County sometime!

May be just your area, we have LOADS of fireflies here. They even fly right up to the window and tease the cats by blinking over and over.

Hello all. We had dinner with my aunt and uncle today, and a lot of family started pouring in for the funeral on Monday. My aunt and uncle are holding up well but I know their hearts are breaking.

Oh no Made! I have cleaned up things like that before . Water may be the worst thing to clean up! One time, before I was married, I put in dish washing soap (the kind for my sink) in my dish washing machine. I figured soap is soap, right? Found out the hard way I was wrong! It was a mess.

Y'all, last year I was ornament exchange partners with CM3. Because we share a passion for animals, especially dogs, I thought I would get her one that was my dog.

This was it.

I miss her.

I too am originally from Maryland, so I feel qualified to chime in on this subject.
If you go by the Mason-Dixon Line (the border between Maryland and Pennsylvania) Maryland is a southern state. During the Civil War it was considered a border state or neutral, however there were mostly southern sympathizers there. I always considered it a northern state myself, but you are right MerryCarey, it is a beautiful state and has lots of history. I remember going to Vermont once and they said I had a southern accent.:lol:

On a different subject, my supervisor looked at me with a very concerned look on her face and asked if I felt alright. I said yes and asked why she asked me that. She said that I looked tired, I said I am tired, I said it is probably just the heat.

I didn't realize I looked that bad that it was noticeable.:-?

I've been missing her a lot the last couple of days too.

Which ornament did she end up getting you? She bounced several ideas off of me last year but never told me which one she decided on.

My mom did a load of laundry and didn't hook up the drain hose for the washer. So I just spent the last 45 minutes cleaning up the pond that had developed in my bathroom, down the hall, and into the kitchen. I may be a bit grouchy the rest of the evening now!!!!

Good evening,

Work kicked my butt today, then went outside and the heat kicked it again. It was a heat index of 101*F at 4:30. Way too hot for my liking, especially after being in coolers ranging from 31 to 36*F.

Well, it's been raining and thundering here all night. I guess we'll be doing a movie here at home! Maybe we'll try for tomorrow night instead.

We were originally going to take the kids to see fireworks back in my hometown tomorrow night , but they saw on Thursday, so we will keep an eye on the weather and make a decision!
