Good morning!
Today is my daughters 18th birthday! I'm so happy that all my girls have off from work. My youngest has drivers ed this morning but we all plan on going out to lunch later after she gets home. For dinner I will be making Spaghetti Bolognese. And for dessert I will be making brownies. Its kind of strange that the birthday girl doesn't like cake but she loves brownies. So I guess I could stick a candle in a brownie, right? And later this evening she will be having friends over to hang out around the pool in the back yard.
I hope everyone has a great day!!!

Good Morning, Manic Mid-Weekers and 'Pines Preferrers.

Second Shispering Pines open house of the month.
This evening's theme?
"A Midsummer Night's Dream, starring Carl and his Crazy Collection of Colorful Characters".

Heaven only know what all that means and I think that camel is being intentionally cryptic to get as many people to come as possible.

Sounds like a new OPERA, maybe? Binger, have you been composing?

Good morning everyone. Just got done posting this years CIJ for HSN and it has to be the worse schedule they have done in years. it appears they will be doing about 5 shows the whole day just over and over again. Since it is on a Tuesday i might miss most of it at work.

Yeah, it looks pretty bad. I don't even know why they do it if they aren't going to put any effort into it.

Hope she has a great birthday and that she has a lot of fun!

Today is my second day without a Coke Zero (that's my drink!) as I'm trying to go all water. I had stopped drinking sodas and did good for a few weeks, then I fell off the wagon! I can drink Coke Zero like some of y'all, not to name names, can drink coffee (rhymes with "Binger" :-P). But I'm having withdrawals! Got...to...stay...strong...

GOOD MORNING!!! :hi: It has been too long & I have missed all you Christmas crazies!!!! I will never be able to catch up on all I have missed since 6/28 but I will go back to read the more recent posts!

We had a fun filled week off work last week! We got in a lot of bicycle riding. Breakfasts with neighbors & friends. A couple pontoon rides. An awesome 4th of July party at our friends house/pond. We listened to an awesome local band at the lake one night (went by pontoon) We looked at the plans our contractor came up with for our kitchen. AND of course we had to watch it rain many times over the week. But it was all awesome! I didn't have to be at work! And now it's back to the grind! Which really stinks, but I'm thankful to have had the week off!!!

I am loving the Christmas movies on Hallmark this week! Last night I fell asleep with about 10 minutes left in the movie & I woke up to see the credits. Grrrrr!! Looking fwd to watching again tonight! I'm sure there's talk of this already on here, but hopefully I'm not watching all alone! Ha ha ha ha....

I hope you are all doing fantastic!! Make it a great day!!

Sounds like you had a good week! Glad you had fun!

Just signed up for the Christmas card exchange. Who else is doing it? Can't wait!

Still thinking about it over here.

You can do it!!! I use to be the same way with mountain dew and now I've pretty much cut out all soda's expect for when I go out to eat. I only drink water when I am at home with the occasional coffee slid in there.

Kudos to you for figuring all this out ... when the IT guys couldn't. But IT guys probably think like Microsoft, so they couldn't find the problem.

Ah, the digital age---we can't live with our devices, and we can't live without 'em. But the digital age brought us together here, so I can't kick.

Here was the main problem with microsoft Windows and Internet Explorer (both were the problem); there is a box (a window) that can be check to allow for Microsoft windows to do automatic (and critical) updates; however, microsoft labeled their fixes as "Important", and the service pack 1 update was included.

In order to get the progams to run correctly you need to manually go in and select your operating system and then download and install all of the "Important" updates. Which, by default includes the Service Pack 1 and Internet Explorer 9 upgrade and you cannot download and install Internet Explorer 9 without downloading and installing the Microsoft Windows Service Pack 1 first.

It's like who's on first, what's on second.... So, to make a long story a little shorter, I previously had my computer automaticly check for updates and it said I had all the updates... there was the problem. Critical updates, yes...but not the Important updates; ugghhh:oops: ! They always have to make it so difficult; don't they.... I discovered all of this, via Fort hard knoxs; the hard way and by myself, the IT guys here had no clue...

Oh, what did you get?

"Sidewalks of New York" (Buster Keaton M-G-M talkie feature); the fourth season of "Night Court"; from a friend of ours who doesn't have a firm grasp of my movie tastes, "People on Sunday" (a German late silent film) and two others (I forget the titles *blush*---but in my defense, I've been paying more attention to Mr.'s recovery than my birthday loot---I must take a closer look at 'em). The best DVD was from Mr., a 1992 PBS documentary we've both been looking for for years: "If You Knew Sousa," about (who else) John Philip Sousa.
