Christmas Countdown - 2013

our VBS is next month, the 12 to 16th, it is in the morning from 9am to noon.
It is hard to watch parents age, my mom is 82 now and is struggling with several things. She is having laser surgery tomorrow on her eyes for glaucoma. She has slowed down a lot the last couple of years.

Good afternoon all. This will be a busy week. We have Vacation Bible School all week from 5:30 - 9:00 each night. My wife is the director so it is especially busy for her. Our son is actually helping teach the 5th graders. With an hour drive home from work, I will be late each day but it should be fun.

Drove down to visit my parents over the weekend. It is tough to see them go downhill.

We continue to have hot/humid weather with highs in low 80s with lows in low 60s. Sightly better weather may be coming though. The extended forecast shows highs in upper 70s with lows in upper 50s. Hope the humidity goes away too. Rainfall is 15 inches above normal for the year.

Kandice had a high fever yesterday....but she seems a lot better today....still not healthy....but a big, big improvement

I'm glad she is improving, track!

I am so excited, we are getting a teacup chihuahua! These dogs were rescued from an illegal breeder who was abusing them, locked in a hot barn, not enough food or water. Some of them are very sick. The lady who resuced them asked if I would like one. She will let me know when they are ready to go.
I am going to have a new furbaby!

Whenever I think of Reno, all I seem to think of is the show Reno 911, and the movie Kingpin (Woody Harrelson, Randy Quaid) I know it is such a strange way to think of that city. cheesy What do you expect from someone who has never been farther west than Chicago.

I found a bunch of the stuff QVC offers from Mr Christmas at a store called Ocean State Job Lot, I bought 2 or 3 items for $5 that retail for $25 last January.

I got a bushel of Chesapeake Bay crabs from my boss today. He said he had two and a half bushels left over from a party and he gave me one....

Nice; I mean, that prob. cost him at least 150.00 just for the one bushel. That was my dinner tonight, and I cleaned the rest and I will boil them off to make stock for crab soup later this week and out some additional stock in the freezer to make soup in the middle of the winter! That was pretty nice of him to do that!

I hope everyone has a good night tonight, me I'm going to chill out for awhile, watch Love it or List it and then go to bed.....

That's awesome!! Enjoy!!
