Good morning, MMC! It is going to be a busy, busy, busy day here. I am finishing my last minute packing and I leave for vacation tomorrow. Let's hope I don't forget anything.

If you don't mind, please keep my grandpa, brother, and dad in your prayers. My mom and I are going on a cruise and we will have no phone or internet access. The last time that we were away, someone wrecked into my grandpa. He is a couple years shy of 90, so I worry about him regardless. My dad drives all day long and my brother has a lengthy drive to/from work each day. I would appreciate any prayers!

I am really excited to go on vacation! It is a short trip, but still, it has been something to look forward to all summer long. I am glad that there are no tropical storms/hurricanes this time around. The last time I went away, Sandy was in full-force and the weather was disastrous. Now let's hope that I didn't jinx myself!

I see that some of you are also preparing for vacations or weekend trips. Regardless of whether you're flying or driving, have a safe trip and be careful!

We are family. We understand. We grieve with you.

I am here.. wow I missed this place :(

I have a bit of an update - my dad passed away on June 5th, 2013 :-(

Peacefully with all (most) his kids around his bed. He actually opened his eyes for about 5 minutes--- he started to tear up and smiled at us...he took about 5 -6 breaths and then was gone. I could not believe how peaceful it was.

I miss him terribly as the he was in palliative care the last 3 months and I was there a lot...as much as I could with two small kiddos and a full time job ... oh and a hubby too.

and a public Christmas Apology to Mumof2

she was my partner in the ornament exchange last year and with everything going on with my dad well I just didn't send it. I found it a few weeks ago and finally mailed it today.. I hope she can forgive me and that I am welcome here again.

Prayers going up for the men!!! Have a safe trip & have a great time!!!

You know what, MC? I love how your day sounds, especially the dark and rainy part; that's my kind of weather! If I worked there, I would help you hold down the fort. Then one of us could make runs for coffee and hot chocolate. Mmmm. I would also bring my DVD player!!!

An unusual day here at the office. Everyone else is gone on the annual offsite. I always volunteer to stay behind to cover the phones. Why? It's a two-day event. The afternoon of the first day is devoted to athletic competition, and the evening to beer. The morning of the second day is an all-hands meeting. I'm one of the oldest employees age-wise and never was much of an athlete, and I don't drink beer (and can't tolerate being around those who have had too much of it), so I hold down the fort here. The remodeling is still going on---they're installing a drop-ceiling in the area behind me, so there's periodic drilling and hammering. Otherwise, I'm answering the phone and, unless some proofreading jobs come in by email, keeping myself entertained.

It's dark and rainy outside and there are still no overhead lights in my area, only the 60-watt lamp on my desk in a long, narrow room, so it's dim and almost cozy, except for the overactive air conditioning and the construction noise. They're working in the kitchen area, so there'll be no tea, coffee, or hot chocolate today. I brought my lunch. I hope it stays slow today so I'll have a breather. It's been a busy week.

Good morning MMC! Hope you all have a fun weekend planned. We really have no definate plans other than going to the lake for the weekend. We MIGHT do a bike tour at a neighboring town tomorrow morning. They have 12 - 25 - or 50 mile rides. Might try the 25! We will probably make that decision tomorrow morning - pending what time we get to bed tonight!
Went out to eat at an Italian Restaurant last night that was having a benefit for Boy Scouts. The waiters were all BS leaders - our waiter was a friend of ours. We had a ball with him. We had a table of 9 - 2 of which were his wife & daughter. He was razzed plenty! All tips went to the Boy Scouts. Fun night!
Make it a great day!!!

Enjoy the bike ride!!!! Sounds like fun!!!

I'm sitting here imaging my boy scout leaders as waiters. LOL!!! That would have been pretty funny to see!!!!

I just love seeing that. Double digits just look so much shorter than triple digits. Can't wait!

One of the main reasons the 100-day mark is a major Milestone!

Cetacea, who are your favorite authors? I have tons of books on both my readers; I have a Nook and I have my iPad that holds both Nook books and Kindle books. Meceka is an avid reader, too, so she might give you some good ideas. I love mystery, thriller, paranormal, and romance books. Like you, I typically buy books by my favorite authors automatically and quickly had over 700 books on the Nook alone (many were free)! Right now I am reading an older book called The Restorer by Amanda Stevens. It is one book of a trilogy.

I am so glad that you all might be buying a flat. I remember your talking about the problem last year. Be sure and take pictures!!!

It is a quiet day here as well. I did a couple offers and otherwise spend my time joking with my work collegues. Other than that I ckecked my favourite authors for new books (luckily some are coming up) and was searching for new authors. I found one "problem" with the ebook reader though. Ebooks are much cheaper then real books and without worrying for storage space I tend to buy way to many books. Do you have the same "problems"?

Tomorrow evening we are able to visit a flat, we might be able to buy. The offer looks very good, according to my cousin, who works in the real estate business. It would also be more or less close to the village we live in now. We'll see how the meeting goes and how the rest goes.

I'm going home early as there really isn't any work to do and I'm having headache.

Made, you are always so good about wishing us a great day! The same back atcha, friend!!!

Good Morning MMC!!!!! It's going to be another warm humid day with a high of 82. We did finally get some of the rain last night about 2am. Of course I wasn't quite asleep yet so then it kept me up. So I'm dragging today. Which I don't have a lot to do so I can deal with that. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!

Ryan, who are your favorite authors?

Yes, I do have that problem! I love ebooks, but its easy to buy one or two here and there, and before I know it, the cost has added up.

Who are your favorite authors? Good luck on the flat tomorrow.

Fire up the Lear and hurry over. I'll be here until at least 5 p.m. Eastern. If none of my co-workers have staggered in yet on their way back from the offsite, we'll hook your DVD player up to the 80-inch TV in the conference room. Oh, yeah!

Your bike ride sounds daunting to me! I think my 66-year-old legs would give out; or my big behind would protest those teeny tiny seats. Are there any tractor seats, LOL???

Oooo! I love the idea of the Boy Scout dinner. Can you tell me more about how that was set up? Hubby and I do a lot of work with Scouts through the Elks Lodge, and we are always trying to think of things to help them earn money. We do put on a barrel-cooked pork loin dinner and the Boy Scouts serve, the Cub Scouts take care of making sure water pitchers are on the table and help with clean-up, and the Girl Scouts sell bake sale items. I think we charge $10 a plate. The past several years, the sales from the dinners has been right around $2400 and we have donated a third to each branch of the Scouts. That way, they automatically have over $800 in their treasury. (We are a small town of around 6000 people.) We love to do things like that!

Hello everyone

Thanks so much for all your kind words of support and true Christmas Spirit :)

The weather in Toronto is beautiful today and my youngest is napping... all seems right in the world :)

Hope you all have a Christmas-y Day :)

Our dinner was spectacular! The lady who catered it is well known for her fried chicken that is so moist that you never want the meal to end! Her mashed potatoes are wonderful, as is her gravy. The green beans were seasoned just right! I loved the salad with ripe grape tomatoes that were home-grown. I had to waddle out. Hmmm. Maybe I SHOULD go on that bike ride!!!

I hope you enjoyed your dinner, Seawaters!

I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of your father in June. My prayers will be with you and your family!

Blah to work. At least you have vacation to look forward to! I am also going on vacation very soon. I hope you have a safe trip and that it is a lot of fun! I am sorry that your friend didn't make it through, but hopefully we can see her on TV!

I hope that your daughter's doctor appointment goes well! You deserve a relaxing day after how busy you were yesterday.

I love Friday! I am sorry that you had such a long day!! Relax and enjoy your Friday!

I hope the weather cooperates! Maybe it will turn around and be nice out. The seaside sounds like such a nice plan! Hope you had some strong coffee!!

Happy Friday! I hope you enjoy your weekend and don't work too hard!

Happy Friday! Enjoy your fun with Jacob!

Don't worry, I can't tolerate people that have had a lot of beer either. Drinking a lot just isn't my thing. Hopefully it brightens up outside and will maybe turn into a nice day weather-wise. Try not to work too hard and take some time to yourself this weekend to relax! It has been a busy week here, too.

I just bought a tablet a few months ago and I have yet to purchase any books. I am afraid that it won't be the same as actually holding the book and become consumed in it. I am an avid reader and I have been since I was a child. I am not sure if I could switch to the e-reading thing! Good luck with the flat and I hope your headache goes away!!

Good morning, Made!! You have the same weather that we are having here. Ick to this humidity! I hope you get a nice burst of energy and have a good day!

Good morning, Holiday! I do have a fun weekend planned - vacation! I hope you enjoy your time at the lake! The bike tour sounds like a blast. I would NEVER be able to do the 50 mile ride. I would probably be collapsed on the side of the road LOL! Keep hydrated! I LOVE Italian food, it is my favorite. I am glad that you had fun last night. Have a spectacular day!

Hello everyone! My daughters doctor appointment took longer than I expected it to this morning. I am now trying to catch up with some chores and I still need to run a couple errands. I think I'm going to head out in few minutes, I just needed a quick coffee break. We are expecting rain, possibly heavy so I want to go and come back home. I also feel a headache coming on, I'm hoping I could sneak a nap in this afternoon.
I hope everyone is well and having a happy Friday!!!

Your trip sounds fantastic! You are so thoughtful to think about prayers for your dad, grandpa, and brother. Where are you going on the cruise? Have a blast!
