I love going in the stores. Some items they sell are overly gory for my tastes. I enjoy spooky stuff for Halloween, but not disturbing and violent, if that makes any sense. There's far too much of that in the real world, in my opinion.

Sorry for my soapbox...I do love decorations and costumes though!

Same here, on all counts. Spooky, yes ... gory, no.

Costumes, yes! When I was in my 20s, my favorite costume was to dress as Harpo Marx and play him legit---no talking. I had a large raincoat with the extra pockets inside, a wig, a beat-up top hat, the horn, the whole schmeer. When going to a party, I would put several soda labels in my pocket: a label from a ginger ale bottle, a Coke logo cut out of a box, etc. Then when I stepped up to the bar I could "order" a soda. The really fun part was that most everyone treated me as though I really were Harpo!

LOVE that movie!!!

I hope you were able to go out & enjoy it!! I stopped at my Mom/Dads at lunch. Was outside talking to Dad & I was almost a little too chilly!! Crazy!

I can't wait to go camping in a few weeks myself. I will be going in a motor home though. Lol...it's like a home away from home for me!

That's not camping!!!! That's parking!!! LOL!!!

We have been having Augtember temperatures in the mid-70s this month. Cool evenings/mornings included at no additional cost.

This morning I took the boys to the Goodwill store to pick out some books, and of course I cannot go there without checking out the Christmas stuff. They had A LOT of Christmas stuff today, but I limited my purchase to 1 thing. I found a Jim Shore Christmas ornament for $4, I couldn't turn that down, even though there was a Santa that was a little more. This is the ornament here:

My wife loved it when she saw it.

I'm so jealous!!!!!

Made wanted me to ask you guys to pass the collection plate around for is bail money...uh-oh! :)

You should have just put the bail money part and left the rest out. LOL!!!

I wish you could have been here too. I was disappointed in the chocolate store though. Their homemade peanut butter cups use to be huge!! Now they are about the same size as the big cup reese's and almost $10.

We made our weekly pilgrimage to nearby Statesboro for Jacob's guitar lesson. He's doing so well in his lessons that Chris, the music store owner and Jacob's guitar instructor, has added Jacob to the annual honors recital. Playing jazz, of all things. Those jazz chords are out of my league!

Congrats to Jacob!!!!

Good chilly morning!!! Hope you are all having a great HuMp Day/Pines Day/Milestone Day!! SO much to celebrate!!

It has been a busy week. Hubby is on vacation. He moved everything out of our spare bedroom upstairs on Monday, ripped up the carpet, yesterday he wiped down the walls & painted the ceiling. Last night he got a couple walls painted. Hoping to finish the painting before we leave for the weekend on Friday!

Monday night I picked a 5 gallon bucket full of tomatoes & got them all washed up & made some fesh salsa! Last night I ran the rest of them through the strainer & I have about 11 or 12 qt of juice ready to be boiled & canned! AFTER my hair cut!

Tomorrow is my hubby & my sisters birthday! We are planning to go out to eat at a restaurant/tavern where my nieces boyfriend is singing/playing (guitar) - Friday I'm off work - heading to Put In Bay! Wew! What a week! My brother & his whole family are in Put In Bay now (they come home today) - I have been dog sitting for their Mini Yorkie while they have been gone. She is so sweet!!

Yesterday I rec'd the Taste of Home "Comfort Food, Slow Cooker & Trick or Treat time" - I don't know why I was surprised to see it so soon. It made me smile...but it's bittersweet!!! Made me think of everyone here looking so fwd to fall & cooler temps. Gotta love the comfort foood time of year. Mmmmm!

Hope you are all having a great day!!

Happy Birthday to your hubby and sister!! Have fun celebrating!! :)

I could go for some comfort food right about now!!

xx
