Good Morning .... enjoying this first day of the "BER" season with coffee and a french toast casserole that I made for breakfast. We have friends coming over for dinner tonight so I will be busy this afternoon cooking.

Good morning, everyone! How are you all? I am well. Welcome to the 'ber months!!! What are you all up to? I'm relaxing with my kids this morning. DH had to go into work for a little bit and give a little bit of his time for a motorcycle run, that they're doing. He should be back soon.

What are your plans for today? I don't think we will do too much. I go back to work tonight. Tonight is considered my holiday, so at least I will get time and half for doing it!

Tomorrow, I will sleep some and then in the afternoon, we will head to our neighbor's house, for a Labor Day picnic. They're supposed to be having a big party, so it sounds like it will be a good time. I'm going to make my buffalo chicken dip (it always goes over well!) and chocolate chip cookies.

Well, I am off to try to get caught up some here and then get some housework done here. We may run out to my parents later on too - to get cornstalks down, that way we can decorate for fall later on in the week.

A tremendous thunderstorm rolled through here this morning ... actually, instead of rolling, it sat on us for about an hour. After it went, the electricity went out for about 15 minutes, but we seem to be okay now. We couldn't do anything while the power was out, so we're just lying around.

No big plans for today. That's okay, because the weather wouldn't cooperate anyway!

I wondered what that wonderful aroma was, Minta. You can't go wrong with any Christmas movie! Have fun!

Evening gang ... house is smelling great. Baked 2 loaves of zucchini applesauce bread and made 2 pizzas for dinner. Tempted to head out to get a cup of pumpkin spice coffee to go with the zucchini applesauce bread.

Was flipping through the channels on tv earlier and came across Christmas with the Kranks. So of course I just had to watch it. Now I am tempted to go watch another Christmas Movie. The big question is which one?

I've seen a few nice ones (small though) on ebay between GB£9-£12 each but postage was about US$22.00 ! More than the houses ! I've not seen the ones in your photo though. Anyway not to worry, I'll keep an eye out.

In the South, at least where I am from, this was also called a "writin' spider." Whenever we saw one, we would cover our mouths to keep the spider from seeing our teeth. According to the "old wives' tale," if this spider saw your teeth, it would write your name in its web, and you would die! If you look at the web, you will notice the zigzag line. Kids thought this was evidence of the spider trying to write names in the web. I am sure we kids looked funny standing around looking at this spider and its web with our mouths covered. Even to this day, I am tempted to cover my mouth when I see one!!!

You can keep that spider up there with you. YUCK!

Last morning in camp, all tents down just visiting and relaxing. Going to have a BBQ lunch before heading home again. Storm due to arrive around 4 otherwise we would do a camp fire again.
I look forward to a comfortable bed again!

Holy smokes! It's so hot!

How's everybody doing this weekend? I'm doing better....yesterday I took 120 kids to Six Flags to celebrate academic achievement and it's a long day. Six Flags is about 6 hours away from us, so leaving at 5:00 am and getting home around 11:00 pm is a long day. Plus, we were walking around on that pavement and it was 100 degrees....mix those two together and it gets even hotter than that.

Came home last night and was in the middle of posting and fell asleep. I was wore out.

Today, work in the baby room. No new news....we had an appointment Friday and the Dr. said the baby was turned and ready....all we are waiting on is the Little Bambina to be ready....

OH, by the way.....Welcome to the Bers'....

Thanks, Meceka. I really do feel better now! Last night, however, I was even too tired to shop at Wal-Mart. I sat in the car while Hubby went in and picked up a few things!

all this talk about monopoly, we love the game here. I know we have the reg version and the Disney one. We also have monopoly deal which is the card game version of it. I showed my son the Franklin mint one and he would really like that one!

To chime in, DH has the firefighter version. I don't think he's ever played his, so his is in mint condition as well. We're not big Monopoly fans ourselves. I think his parents got it since he's fireman.
