One of our local seasonal stores had their lights on and they were inside working.

Funny you should say that.

My 5y/o was being watched by a friend of ours today and she took him to McDonald's for lunch and the playland, he was playing with a girl he met there and was trying to get her phone number and give her ours. :lol: He is 5! I cracked up when my wife told me when I got home. Our little Don Juan.

I hear ya Made! I am wide awake as well few hours before the rest of the USA wakes up. I put myself to good use I suppose and am washing bedsheets in the guest bedroom because we have friends coming in to town for the long holiday weekend! Speaking of the holiday weekend..Started as early as yesterday(weds) Police and State Patrol are out everywhere in full force.. I guess people are already starting to travel for the weekend. I have to work today and tomrorrow then its 3 days of BBQ and swimming in the pool doing cannonballs!! Have a great morning everyone!

We watched a creepy old movie from 1934 called "Double Door," then "Monkey Business" with the Marx Brothers. I started a new ripple afghan this weekend. I'm trying to duplicate one I saw in a catalog. It'll take several more rows before I can tell whether what I'm doing will work. I'm doing ridged (back-loops-only) rows with color changes, and the back will look different from the front---different colors are emphasized on each side depending on how the ridges fall. I didn't see that coming!

It's about time to hit the sack. Thanks to Labor Day, we don't have to go to the office tomorrow ... Yay! It'll be the last office holiday until Thanksgiving.

I will have to look up the Double Door! Might be a good October movie.

my eldest, Jeannine, is 30 years old today! wow, I do not recall getting older myself but apparently she did.

Going out to camp this evening and will enjoy some cake and a glass of wine at that time to toast this milestone celebration.

Morning everyone! just got back after a weekend away visiting family, None of them seem to understand Christmas properly!, its all about the Argos catalogue and tree which match their curtains arghhh!. So Happy to be home and back amongst people who get it!, thankyou all for being my constant Christmas!!!

Good morning!
Oh my goodness, I miss all of you!
Its been almost a week since I last posted. My husband has been finishing the wood floors in the house. We borrowed our friends camper to stay in but I decided that wasn't going to work out. The girls and I packed up and brought the cats and dogs to my parents house. My parents went to their place in Pennsylvania so we could have the house to ourselves. They are the best, I am so thankful they did that for us. My husband told me that it would take about three or four days to finish the floors but it took longer. He probably should have planned on taking a couple of days off from work. It was a big job for him to do alone, especially when he only had the evenings to work on it. I am hoping and praying to be home tonight. I just wanted to pop in and say hello. I hope everyone is well. I will post pictures of the floors when I can. It will probably take me a couple of days to settle back in at home and get the house in order.

TGIF everyone. Looking forward to the 3 day weekend. We will be heading to Myrtle Beach this afternoon. It is about a 7 hour drive for us. My brother and his family are taking our parents down. It is only about a 4 hour drive for them. All of us are staying at a house we rented for the holiday weekend. My mother is really looking forward to seeing the ocean probably for her last time. It will be a bitter/sweet stay.

I've killed 2 copperhead snakes the last 2 days. They were the first adult ones I've seen near the house this year. Can't wait until cooler weather with no bugs and/or snakes.

Happy Labour Day!

I have fallen behind with posts over the weekend, sorry if I missed anything. The weekend was good. My toddler had his first haircut He looks so grown up without his dark curls....it kind of broke my heart a little but it needed doing...I guess.

My eldest returns to school on Wednesday. He will be moving into year two so a new beginning for him. I hope he won't be tearful about going in and settles back into school routine.

It is sweet september atlast. Before we know it , we will be entering October and I can hardly contain my excitement. October brings many exciting events includng my baby's 2nd birthday!

Just finished Rock Cornish game hens, wild rice, and corn on the cob; dessert will have to be later! I went to Starbucks and bought a pumpkin spice latte (PSL)!!! First one for me for the season! Yay!
