WOW! Over 736 stores!!!!! I have a copy of the "digitized catalogue open on my computer right now. Interesting!

Morning everyone! just got back after a weekend away visiting family, None of them seem to understand Christmas properly!, its all about the Argos catalogue and tree which match their curtains arghhh!. So Happy to be home and back amongst people who get it!, thankyou all for being my constant Christmas!!!

I, too, love that we can now say we are in September. When we say we are in October is my favorite. To me, that is autumn and the beginning of a round of holidays! Your post and Snowflake's fall graphics have really put me in a good "fally" mood! Thanks for the reminder, DoubleA. What is the weather like in southern California? Here in northern California, the weather has been mild with only a few really hot days and quite a few wonderful days. I hope it means we will have a cold winter. Have a good day!

How nice saying that we are now in September!!! Cant wait for the rest of the year.

Huge fire guts St. Jacobs Farmers Market in Waterloo, Ont.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/story/2013/09/02/waterloo-st-jacobs-fire.html

wow, this is a farmers market about 3/4 hour from here that we often visit. I have taken many a bus load of kids there for day trips too. It is an amazing place full of all the wonderful things you find at a farmers market.
This building had all the good stuff in it and on most days you can hardly move in there for all the people. It is going to be hard on a lot of folks whose business was in there.

When my first child had his first haircut, he cried the whole time. I took my camera with me and got some cute shots. That barber did not charge for a kid's first haircut!

Happy Labour Day!

I have fallen behind with posts over the weekend, sorry if I missed anything. The weekend was good. My toddler had his first haircut :) He looks so grown up without his dark curls....it kind of broke my heart a little but it needed doing...I guess.

My eldest returns to school on Wednesday. He will be moving into year two so a new beginning for him. I hope he won't be tearful about going in and settles back into school routine.

It is sweet september atlast. Before we know it , we will be entering October and I can hardly contain my excitement. October brings many exciting events includng my baby's 2nd birthday!

Enjoy your Labour day celebrations today and have a great start to the week!

Well somehow everyone has ended up at my apartment for a cookout. It would have been nice if I had known about this in advance so I could have actually bought the stuff to do one.

Which colors did you choose? Great minds....When I found this pattern, the lady wrote that it is more remarkable if the two colors are distinctly different. I LOVE the hunter green and pale yellow scheme. That was what I had planned to use, anyway.

That looks like an interesting technique---never heard of that before, I may try it sometime.

The ripple I'm working on, I saw a picture in the Herrschner's catalog and figured I could make it without buying the pattern. It's a mix of Christmas colors: red, green, and variegated. Mr. thinks it'll work, so I'll buy some more yarn to finish it. I only bought enough at first to make a sample.

no wait, got out the tube finally and that is not in it, there is benzcoaine in it

Try something with diphenhydramine---that might work better for you. It helped me with mine!

I am sending a link to one of the cutest videos I've ever seen. Watch it all the way to the end and pay attention to her facial expressions and her arm movements (really close to the end); then listen carefully to the singer she requests next. Let me know what you think. I don't think I've sent this before, but with chemo brain, you never can tell.

Happy Labour Day, everyone!

Notice the "u" in the word. Strange, eh? Despite currently being in a border city and a nine hour drive away from Canada's capital, I somehow feel even more Canadian when I am at home in Sault Ste. Marie. Kim and I made the drive on Saturday to surprise my mom. Yesterday, we went to my camp/cottage for the day and night. The weather did not quite cooperate, but we had a great time. In fact, the water (at 65F) was warmer than the air (63F)... that made for a refreshing swim!

A quick picture of the north shores of Lake Huron on St. Joseph Island:

Anyway, Kim and I will be in the Sault until about Saturday and then we'll make the drive back to Ottawa. It should be a good time here.

Also, I should be able to contribute here a little more often now... my most recent contract at Passport Canada finished and I am now unemployed. It's not a great situation, but I have applied for employment insurance, for which I am eligible. It should provide me with a bit of income until I can find another position. We shall see! Obviously, the good news is that I will now be closer to a computer and be able to follow along with the countdown as we move throughout September and close-in on the debut of the Blossoms thread!

I think that's it for now. Have a great Monday, everyone. I hope you're enjoying the last of the long weekend!

Coming later this month, of course!

Wow what a storm coming trough !! Very bright & noisy!

Using my cell phone & going cosseyed trying to se the small letters !

There was a lot of lightning flashes to the north of here. Noticed them about 9:30 last night and when I got up at 4:30, they were still flashing! If there was a storm, I slept through it!
