Good evening, friends!!

Hope you're having a nice Tuesday!

I have a neat story to share with you guys!
On Sunday, while I was visiting my family in La Crosse, my sister took me out to lunch. We went to the Hungry Peddler, a favorite restaurant for both of us. When we pulled into the parking lot, an advertisement on a car caught my eye. It looked like a Christmas wall hanging that I put up each season. I had to investigate =]
So we walked over to it, and sure enough, it was!! On each of the front doors, there was detailing that read "Believe in the magic of Christmas"! The license plate read Santa C! A Santa hat is centered on the dashboard =}
There were bumper stickers too, that read "My other car is a sleigh" & NP (North Pole). There was also an e-mail address, so I just e-mailed Santa for more information-I'll let you know his response!

When we went inside, I took a picture of the digital Christmas countdown that is hanging near the bar and kitchen area. I always smile when I see it!! The owner, Kevin, is a friend from high school's father. They are also big Christmas lovers! He saw me taking a picture of the countdown, and he asked if I realized that Santa was actually dining in the next room. He pointed him out to me, not that I would have missed him, he had his white long beard and was dressed in all red!! It was awesome!!

I was hoping to catch him before he left, unfortunately that didn't happen. But it was pretty cool to see the big guy so early in the season!! :)

Here are a few pictures of his vehicle!!

That is so cool!!!!! What a nice surprise to see that!!!!

Hi, I'm new here!

Today I put my fall wreath on the front door. I also decided to put my Christmas mugs on the mug rack in the kitchen. They look awesome!! :)

Welcome Melissa!!! How fun to start putting out Holiday things! LOVE that you got your Christmas mugs out!! I am seeing a lot more pumpkins & fall things showing up around here. I will follow suit soon...

I just heard back from Santa- here is an excerpt =}

"My wife (maiden name "Claus") and I have been a professional Santa and Mrs. For the past 13 years. We have appeared in large malls in LasVegas and Arlington, Texas and will be returning to Arlington again this year, starting Nov. 8th and doing 12 hour days straight through Christmas Eve. Last year we saw over 14,000 children. We dress in red all year, and since my wife is also a ventriloquist, we do things with kids all year. Never dreamed that retirement could be so much fun!"

So cool!!!

That's so awesome! Thanks for sharing!!!

We went to LC's kindergarten open house tonight, and when it was time for the kindergartners to go with their teachers to go on a quick bus ride. JP started saying I can't believe he is going to school and then he started bawling his eyes because he realized his little bro is growing up.

Awe - that's so sweet!!!

Goodnight all! Early bed as I start the new job tomorrow. I am very nervous and prayers are greatly appreciated. I will talk to you all tomorrow.

Good luck Ryan! Hope you are having a GREAT day!!!

All caught up from yesterday - though I had to kinda skim to get to this point! Chatty people!!! ;-)

I forgot to say earlier that I was watching Home Improvement on Hallmark Channel this afternoon. They went to commercial and all of the sudden I hear Bing Crosby singing It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas, they had commercials for their Countdown To Christmas which begins November 2.

I think that was the earliest I have ever seen a Christmas commercial, and it is just awesome!!!!!

Good night all! (again)

Oh awesome! I love Hallmark - I will have to keep my ears open for it! Thanks!

Good Morning, Center of the Weekers and 'Pines Preferrers.

Can we be back around to the Shispering Pines weekly open house day again already?
Carl says "YES" (I think somehow he's able to speed up time!) and his theme tonight is "welcome to the burrrs".
I suggested to him he might have meant "bers" but he said that was too pat. With the theme referring to "burrrs", the drink of choice will be ice-cold smoothies to herald the end of summer heat and the soon to arrive crisp fall weather.
(To be honest, I think the SP is probably ovestocked on something that will likely be blended into the smoothies and I'm not sure I want to try one!)

You are too funny!

Good Morning and Happy Pines Day!

I FINALLY finished my video project for church. It's a video to celebrate Grandparents Day. Wayne and I spent the last 2 Sundays interviewing children about their grandparents then I put that together with a brief history of that day. I ran into so many issues with my video maker. I spent my entire Friday working on it and never got it working. My son was helping me with it as well. On Saturday after a few hours we got it working. Took me most of the day yesterday to edit, tweak the audio on it, and add music. Phew! All that work and it's a 5 minute video! I know those who are familiar with video making know the time it takes to even make a video that short.

I don't have time to hang around but wanted to stop by and say hi and hope you all have a Merry Day!

Someone please send some cool air this way! All week will be 99-100 degrees. Christmasstar, I know it's your birthday but do you mind getting your big fan out and send that cool air this way? Have a Happy Birthday!

You have a Merry Day too! How nice of you to do the video!!!!

Good morning, MMC! Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Thanks! You have a wonderful day too!

gotta go to school in the evening....the teacher wants to tell us all the things that will be done in the next few months, the official speaker for the parents of this class will be voted ( i was voted last year) and we are paying 20 euros for crafting supplies, copies and all that stuff.....I am sure she will let us know which fuller is the one best suited for starters......over here at first the kiddos learn for write with a pencil....later sometime in second grade when they are good writers, they start using their fullers to write.....all the kids are mighty exited about that....so I think she will tell us, which ones are good and so on!!!

Have fun tonight!!

It's a puppy day at the office! One of my co-workers volunteers with a dog rescue, and a few times a year he brings in a few of the puppies he's fostering. So people are on the floor cooing over the three puppies who are visiting today! (Note: That's not how we'll spend the day ... work still goes on as usual!)

Awe! That is so cute! Wish I worked where you work!!!

Good morning,

Well, it's official, both my boys are in elementary school. I watched them both get on the bus, and LC was smiling, and having fun, I was worried he was going to freeze up and fight going. I got some pictures of them before the bus came and them on the bus. I miss them both but I knew this was coming, my boys are growing up. But...
FREEDOM from daycare bills!!!! Wooohoooo!!!!!

I have to head to work in a couple hours, not really what I want to do, but I have no choice.

Enjoy the Pines today!!!

Glad everything went well! Hopefully both come home saying they had a great day!!!

Good morning everyone!

Another Wednesday, another gathering at the 'Pines. The "burrr" month festivities have begun. That camel, Carl, sure is clever. To be honest, it's great to see everything pick up at this time of year. We're on the bottom end of the calendar and going straight for our favourite season!

Last night was a good time. Kim and I hung out with my brother and his wife. We played some Xbox Kinect and then visited a local watering hole. It was pretty empty - but after all it was a Tuesday night in a fairly lifeless city. Still, we had a good night. Also, Kim and I accompanied my dad on his daily visit to my 99-year-old grandmother. It was great to see her!

As for today, I think we're just having a barbecue here at my mom's house. It should be delicious! Well, not a whole lot to talk about. Time for some job hunting. Have a great Wednesday, everyone! We're turning that corner toward the weekend!

Sounds like you had a fun night & another good one planned tonight! Hoping & praying you find that job soon!!!

Peach crisp? Yum!!!!

There's some in the fridge yet...

Good Morning MMC!!!!!! It's going to be another decent day here with a high of 81. I actually slept over 8 hours last night, so I have some energy today. So I'm going to tackle my kitchen today. I want to clean every thing off of the counters and scrub them down. Then I'll move the dryer, freezer, stove and fridge and scrub the floors. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!

WOW! You won't need to sleep the rest of the week! Ha ha!!! Have a good day - always good when the cleaning is DONE!

Your canning plans sound so good. I love to can, but I hate getting started, at least the prep part! What is in your crockpot? I don't think anyone can beat a crockpot dinner. It is (normally) not messy since you can put the ingredients in one pot and clean up any mess while the dinner cooks. Plus, it makes your house smell so good! If I do any canning, I have to go buy the veggies first, so I don't really save anything. Of course, the taste is a lot better, LOL!

Good morning!! Happy pines day!!! Happy hump day!!!! YAY!!!!

I never had time to catch up on posts yesterday, but I'm hoping to read at least what I missed since yesterday! I did see Brads new camero - looks nice!!! Keep spending Brad!! Keep our economy going! :D And I think I saw that it's CS's birthday!!! So HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! And I hope you have a great day!!!!

Last night my Mom came over & helped me put up peaches! I saved enough out to make a peach crisp & it's darn tasty! The house smelled soooo good while it was baking!!! Then I picked tomatoes...they are waiting for me tonight! Salsa? Stewed Tomatoes? More juice? Hmmmm - huge decisions!!! Lol! Supper is in the crock pot, so that gives me a little more time for canning! Seems there is always something to do this time of year!!!

Hope you are all having a GREAT day & we'll see ya at the PINES tonight - 1st Brrr night! FUN!!!!

:merry:

All of us with older kids know exactly what you mean. There is something so special about the first day of school. I loved it as a parent and really loved it as a teacher! Can't wait to see the pics.

That's usually what happens. I get one good night of sleep and then I can't for days afterwards.

Afternoon everyone ... My kids start school tomorrow and there is an open house at my sons school tonight so we are taking him to find his classroom. We have been working on getting back on track with their bedtime/morning routines for school. Got them up nice and early this monring against their will LOL. After the kids get on the school buses DH and I and heading out to do some Christmas shopping for the kids.

So Love this time of the year!!!

Have a great day everyone!

Do they ever bring cats?

So glad that you can still visit with your grandmother. I'll bet it is so fun to talk about "the old days"!

Brad, I laughed right out loud at this!!! Sometimes, you just cannot pass up such a good deal!

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

Ok, I have a confession to make. I bought another Camaro...

picture.php

It was such a good deal, and it was in such good shape!

Don't look at me that way, I'm not an addict! I can stop buying Camaros any time I want!

:D

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Seeing that commercial has put my Christmas jonsing in full gear, it is not even on YouTube yet. I looked for it to show everyone here.

It might be time to start the 2013 Christmas commercials thread since the first one is out there.

Here is the next best thing to the commercial:

I just love this version.

Oh, thank you for sharing! ♥

I love this version, too, Xmas. Thanks for sharing!

Good morning everyone!

How did he get them to jack up the A/C in my office so it's blowing cold air directly on me today??? Thanks, Carl, but when I want the "burrrrr"s I'll come and get them ... please don't deliver! The fan has been blowing directly on me for over an hour, and it's driving me nuts. Even with a space heater at my feet. Enough already!

I agree sista! I hate getting started & the prep part too!! I washed the tomatoes at lunch, so that's done! I also chopped enough tomatoes for a double batch of fresh salsa. :) And I agree - I love crock pot cooking. I haven't used it all summer, so I'm really looking fwd to it...AND the house was smelling great at lunch. Today in the crock is Potatoes, celery, carrots, garlic powder, then tenderized round steak & golden mushroom soup!!!

That's usually what happens. I get one good night of sleep and then I can't for days afterwards.

Hopefully that doesn't happen this week. Maybe you need to drink more wine??? Hee hee!

Oh, CAH, this sounds truly special, for both the kids and adults. What a treasure!

I feel your pain! I have 2 desks in this office & both of them are directly under an AC vent! I always have my sweat shirt on - ESPECIALLY when its 102º outside & the AC never stops!!! :cold: Stay warm!! MORE COFFEEE!!!
