I think this past week has finally caught up to me. I have been running non stop. I am beat! My granddaughter and I just ran around a few hours today. I am home now and her dad will be off work early. After she leaves I will do just a few chores then rest for the day. That should get me ready for the week ahead!

MerryCarey, I am looking at your picture again in a reply. Do I see a Charlie Chaplin book? A book just caught my eye but all I can make out is a silhouette of a person looking like him on the side of a book. He does have that distinct look!

My granddaughter is looking over my shoulder and said, "whos house is that"? I told her a friend. She said, "I want to go over there"! Ha ha! I think she likes those books!

:lol: Yes, it was!!! Kinda interesting! Just made me smile to see something related to the Holidays in my work email box!!

Also forgot to mention that my gas bill is only about 15 to 20 bucks higher in the winter. Not bad!

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

It was a hot weekend, but we had a good time. Friday night, we went to hear Jacob's guitar teacher, Chris, play in a blues concert. It was a great show! I know I've mentioned it before, but Chris is the younger brother of my old HS friend, Mark, who played in the band with me for years & years. It's funny to see how much Chris looks like Mark, and has the same on-stage mannerisms. Chris' drummer (Matt) is our drummer, too, so it felt like I should have been on stage instead of being in the audience.

Saturday was all about hunting, and Jacob and I had a blast doing that. Sunday was relaxation at mom's...except for having to drag the broken pecan limbs across the orchard to the burn pile.

Tonight I have a city council meeting and Nancy has a church Ladies Circle meeting. Run, run, run!

Good morning everyone!

A new workweek means a week closer to Christmas! That final window can't come soon enough. It's a beautiful morning here in Canada's capital. Temperatures are to reach the lower 20s/mid 70s with a little bit of wind. A perfect way to celebrate the final single digit day of September!

Today is my first official day of job searching. If you all find something, let me know! ...Kidding. I am searching in full force. I hope you all had a great weekend and are looking forward to the next. After all, a milestone will soon follow!

Unfortunately, Harlowe has been having trouble again. She was sick all day yesterday, and I am feeling so worried & stressed. Breaks my heart. Can you guys please continue to pray for her?

Yes, there are multiple books about Charlie Chaplin---and Buster Keaton, Laurel & Hardy, Abbott & Costello, etc., etc. Lots of film/TV history, but also lots of mystery, fiction, cats, short stories---well, you name it. How old is your granddaughter? She might enjoy Five Little Peppers, An Old-Fashioned Girl, Bambi, The Great Brain, Tell Me Why ... yep, I still read some classic "junior" books now and then!

She is 4 years old and loves when I read to her. We go to the library quite a bit. I am sure she would have fun at your house with all those books!

Yeah, well I cooked up some hamburger and chopped up some lettuce and tomatoes!!!!! So my house smells like hamburger grease!!!! LOL!!!!!

Good Morning MMC!!!!!! It's going to be a hot one here with a high of 94. Ugh!!! I'll say it again. Bring on Thursday!!!!! It's going to be an easy day here. Just trying to get some stuff down around the apartment. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!

it is going to be that way here tomorrow with a high of 33c (91f) but with the humidity it will feel like 42c (17F) !!! I am glad I have the day off and can just stay inside with the AC on.

Good afternoon, MMC!

I hope this finds everyone well!

What a busy few days I have had! Stressed out family members, somebody else's book checked out to me at the library, migraine, work, shopping and garden produce pretty much sums it all up. Migraine is gone - yay!!!! Today was laundry day and I am also trying to catch up on all the things I did not get accomplished over the weekend, including the forums here. Missed all of you!!! I will be in and out for the next few hours.
