Hi, Aleighanne. Glad to see you here on the countdown!

We have our Fall & Halloween out even though it feels far from fall here. It feels like summer considering we had nice almost falllike weather earlier in August lol.

Look what happens when I get behind on here! You quoted me to tell me about your tortoise several days ago and I am just now seeing this.

Do you have a picture of your tortoise? I would love to see her!

I will ask mum or my brother to send me one. I have a couple somewhere from my last visit back home but they are not on the computer, I'm not sure where they are.

I just got the new Terry's Village christmas catalog in the mail. Can someone please come take my credit cards and checkbook for safe keeping!!!! I haven't even looked past the first couple of pages and I'm already searching for the keys to the safe to get them out.

LOL Let us know if you do buy anything!

my former boss from Subway called today, wants me to come back to work there. I could sure use some extra hours so I think I will take some hours there too. At least it is work I will not have to train for.

The extra money will be handy especially this time of year when christmas is coming. Atleast you are already familiar with things there too.

Good evening!
The girls first day of school went well. They all seem to be pretty tired tonight. Its going to take some time before we get use to waking up so early in the mornings again. But it always takes time to get back in to the swing of things. I'm going to turn in soon, I am so tired. I woke up at 3:00 a.m. and couldn't fall back to sleep. I kept looking at the clock every 5 minutes. I'm hoping that doesn't happen again.
We took a ride to Best Buy this afternoon to pick up an iPad for my daughter to use at her nursing program. They are very cool, I would love to have one for myself. And finally, my youngest took her road test today and passed. She is so excited. I now have three teenagers that drive. Eeek!
I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful evening.
Goodnight!!

Floors look fantastic! I'm glad things are settleing down now with regard to the decorating. Congrats to your daughter on her success.

Well, I started way too late to read all of today's posts. We went to the Dr. today and she said that Dr. Wifey has started to dilate. We got back for another visit in three days....then next Monday. If no luck next Monday, she said she would schedule something.

You think we can schedule this around the Cowboys game? Should I even bring that up?

Have a great Tuesday!

WOW it could happen anyday now in that case. I pray that everything goes well , best of luck to Nancy. How Exciting!

Reminds me of a colleague's husband who asked her if she could please go into labour around the World Cup final so he could have his paternity leave then.....MEN!

Good evening,

I guess I am the last one in tonight, I'll be sure to get the lights before I leave. cheesy

Today actually went very quickly at work. I did get the dreaded news that I will be a "HOT" item team leader on Black Friday, for the 3rd year in a row. I hate that job. I have my first training session on Thursday, at least I learn about it 2+ months in advance instead of a week before like the last few years.
Day off tomorrow, I have my physical in the a.m., and then JP has his in the afternoon.

Just listening to the Joy Strings Christmas album before bed, it is something a little different, a nice change though.

Good night, everyone.

Sounds like you will be busy at work during the christmas season! Goodluck to you and JP with your physicals tomorrow.

How is Harlowe doing? Did you have a good time catching up with your friend?

Good Midday!

This week we have fall weather. The Temps got down quite a bit (we had Temps in the low 100 last week!) and it is mostly cloudy and raining. I'm not complaining as I just spent the last weekend shopping for fall clothes. Now I can wear my new items!

I want to say thanks to all the well wishes regarding my fathers health and your understanding regarding our tomcat! Your sympathy is very much appriciated!

I hope you don't mind, that I don't answer to every single feedback. I promise I read them all!

The Countdown sure is busy now!

Hi nice to see you. I am glad you and your family are feeling better, I hope your dad can rest better now at night.

It is heartbreaking to read about your tomcat. I understand your loss and saddness. You must have such wonderful memories of him. He was lucky to have such a loving home and family.

Yes, we tried to do our best for both of our furry friends. And we do hope to keep Mimi a while longer.

I feel your pain, Cetacea. We had to have our cat put to sleep this summer. She was also 16, and the vet found cancer when we took her in after some weight loss. We are thinking of you and your family. My husband used a C-Pap machine for his sleep apnea. It really works, even though Hubby does not really like it! I am glad your parents' test results were not as bad as first expected. How old are your parents? Take care and visit us here when you can.

My father will be 53 in about two weeks and my mother is 48. Daddy is just a bit worried at how long it will take until he is used to the C-PAP machine. We told him, he just has to try to get used to it. As he works as a driver it is very important that he is fully awake and fit while on the road.

Oh, I am sorry for the loss of your cat. Our vet told us, that cancer at this age is very common. I think it is comforting to know that they were old cats. It would be so much more tragic if this had happened at a young age. Don't you think?

Hello everyone! Just had to share that on a girls' weekend away I just went on I found a Christmas shop! It's in a large town about 3 hours drive from where we live. It's in a lovely wine growing area surrounded by gentle hills. It was a fabulous weekend and finding the Christmas shop just capped it off!! The shop was full of decorations, trees, ornaments...just everything! While the others spent their time spending money in clothes/jewellery, gift or book shops, I spent all mine in the Christmas shop. What a great way to spend a lovely weekend. :sparkle:

Good Morning, Inside-A-Week-To-Go Friends!

Ah, 'tis true.
Under a week left until our final Milestone Window opens and we are cleared for smooth sailing through double-digit territory right on to the start of Christmas Season 2013 on November 13.
Wow!

Days to the Season: 64
Days to Christmas Day: 106

The warmth and humidity are back but they are not too obtrusive so far. All in all, yesterday was not bad.
Continued warm but bearable for the rest of the week with a nice cool-down promised for the weekend!
Currently, we stand at 70 degrees here in this corner of the Southeast.

Have a Terrific Tuesday, Everyone.
Incredible as it may seem, it will be 'Pines Day once again tomorrow!

Now that sounds like the perfect surprise on a weekend away! I bet you can't wait to put your new decorations up! I would love to discover a proper christmas shop, I would spend a bundle to :)

Yes, they are very versatile!

These are the two veggies I can't wait to start growing! DH just was measuring out for our garden the other day. He will be digging sometime soon, this fall. Can't wait!

Love your decorations and the image posted here. I'm in - I'll bring pumpkin pie, pumpkin cookies, and pumpkin cream cheese muffins. :witch:

I'll bring whatever you guys want me too, as long as I can come!!! :hi:

The days did improve & we had a great time at the Reds game. Thank you!!!!

I decided on my way home from work & after going outside with Buster, that I am going to sit in my recliner in the AC, candles are burning & watch a Christmas movie & pretend it's not 92º & miserable outside. LOL! It feels SO HOT & muggy!!!! Anyway I am going to watch "How About You" - it's a free movie with my Amazon Prime membership. I never come home from work & sit down, so I'm looking fwd to this!

"Based on a short story by Maeve Binchy, Ellie is a free-spirited and headstrong young woman left in charge of a retirement home over the Christmas holidays."

:give:

That sounds perfect! I hope you were able to enjoy your evening!

Good Morning MMC!!!! It's going to be a hot one here today with a high of 97. Just 2 more days until the cool down. I hope I can make it. Not much going on here today. Just some work on the computer and trying to stay cool. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!

Good night, everyone.
you must good at hot items to be picked every year!

making shepherds pie for supper tonight. Potatoes peeled and cooking , onions frying, smelling good in here.
Thinking of making rhurbarb crisp for dessert, but may wait till tomorrow when I have some vanilla ice cream to go with it.

I ran to the store last night and got some vanilla ice cream to go with the peach cobbler...MMM!

I know!!! Don't you just love their stuff??? I am sure I will buy a few things and then I always buy a few things at the craft fairs I go to over the fall. I am running out of room, unless I put more nails into the walls, which DH doesn't really want to do, since I don't have anything to replace them with, once the Christmas or winter stuff comes down. Once the basement is done, I will have a lot more room. Can't wait for that.

You're going to bake me fresh??? Umm...... Well with a nice a dry rub and some BBQ sauce at the end, I might come come out pretty tasty.

 You're goofy!

Well I hope you sleep good tonight!!!! You better hit the tread mill first though!!!!

I did sleep very well, thanks!

Yes, I should have - I was wayyy over my caloric intake allowed for the day. Oh well. If I would have went running first, my face would have smacked off of the treadmill!
