Hey! I hope everyone is having a good day!, I've just been drooling over snowflakes Halloween and fall decorations. Reading through the posts I've realised two really good things!! 1, every other Brit is loving them too and wishing we could get away with doing it and 2, there's more of us from this side of the pond than I thought!!, it's comforting to feel I'm not the only Christmas nut in the Uk!!! Then I got to wondering... does anyone know if there are any Christmas shops in Yorkshire? We are off on holiday to robin hoods bay on Saturday, I'd love to get something new for my collection!

I also love the Halloween and fall decorations. If I didn't just have surgery, I'd be shopping up a storm! I am definitely a Christmas nut but I live in the United States so I can't help you there lol!

Okay, I just bought 2 tickets for the powerball tonight. So if you hear a bunch of yelling and screaming later tonight, you'll know I'm rich!!!!!! Then again, Sugar and Snowflake may have just gotten into Carl's gummy bears again.

I hope this finds everyone well! Just realized that I haven't eaten dinner yet - rather busy with things today. I'm going to get have a quick bite and then relax for a bit. Starting a new Tess Gerritsen mystery today, number 7 in the Rizzoli and Isles series. It is due Friday so I had best get reading!

I just picked my youngest up from work a little while ago and I'm ready to turn in. My lack of sleep last night has caught up with me, I can't keep my eyes open. It will be nice when my daughter gets her car, it will help me out and give me a break from all of the running around I do with her. But then again, she is my youngest and it also makes me sad. It's going to be so strange not having to chauffeur any kids around. My husband has been haggling with the car dealer all week and I believe they are just about ready to make a deal.
I also had some other news to share. A friend of mine has been doing babysitting out of her home to make some extra money. She has been doing it for years and has to turn people away because she can only watch so many. Anyway, she called me last night and asked if I might be interested in watching a six year old special needs girl. It would only be for a couple of hours in the morning until the school bus picks her up, twice a week. The family lives very close to me, they are right around the corner. I actually met with them earlier, they are a beautiful family. The little girl has cerebral palsy. She can't communicate well but she walks and eats all by herself. And she is incredibly sweet. I told them I will do it, I am so excited! Wish me luck, I really hope it works out. I start next Tuesday.

Long night at work, not too busy customerwise. I was able to get some of next week's projects done tonight, it will be an easy week next week now.

Good Morning, I am having a challenging day so far. There are some issues that came up regarding Dh's new role this morning. I won't bore you all with details but things are looking bleak. On top of this, the car started smoking heavily while DH was driving to work. He will have to drive it all the way from the city to a local garage after work. I am nervous about him driving it if is smoking!!!!!!!

Then there was an issue with my account and while on the phone trying to sort it I couldn't find my bank card. I thought for sure I lost it or it was stolen. All this with a crying baby and the school run to do. After many tears and a living room that now looks like it was hit by a mini tornado (me) I thankfully found it!

Anyway things are and will get better as the day goes by. I guess we will just have to accept it if things don't work out with DH's new role, another opportunity will arise I am sure. We'll know later today.

Now , I just hope he makes it home without the car setting the streets alight with fire like Ghostrider!!!!!!!!!!!

Almost weekend again! Have yourselves a merry day!

Good Morning all my fellow Christmas Peeps. So today is a short day at work cuz on thursday's it is Daddy and Baby evening while wife goes to School. Now just need to count the hours till i get to pick her up at daycare and thinking about taking her to the park to play after dinner. ANother thing can't wait Fall will be officially here Sunday party time.

Good Morning MMC!!!!! It's going to be a hot rainy day here in Central Indy!!! I don't like the hot but we really need the rain and we've already got 1.5 inches this morning!!! Not much on the agenda today. I need to go collect my big powerball earnings and then I think I'm going to run to Target to look for my niece's some Christmas gifts. Everyday I learn something new in this forum. Today I learned what nutmegg is! Therefore I also know now why I hated the starbucks nutmegg frappuccino last fall. *stupid*

I already got a birthday gift for my father (his birthday is next monday), a birthday gift for my sister and one of her christmas gifts and a little christmas gift for my mother. And lots of ideas for other gifts.

Happy early birthday to your father! You're doing great with all of the Christmas shopping. I really need to get started on shopping for some of my family members.

Today I have my follow-up appointment with my surgeon. I think I am healing well and I feel good except I have some numbness that I discovered this morning. I read that it can happen after surgery and will fade in weeks/months if the damage is temporary. I couldn't even imagine having permanent nerve damage so I really hope that's not the case.

The official start of fall will be here before we know it! They just announced when we will be having trick or treat here, which is going to be on the 31st. I know you're probably thinking "well duh" but in my town they usually do it on a certain day of the week, which almost never ends up being Halloween. I am looking forward to going to the store and starting to buy candy to pass out to the kids. I always try to get a good variety - chocolate, gummies, other candy, chips - that way the kids can pick what they like the best. When I was little I used to think I hit the jackpot when I'd get a Little Hug drink.

I know I am slacking but I have to get out and buy some new Halloween decorations for the yard. I haven't had a chance yet. I am trying not to go too crazy on the Halloween decorations so I can save more money for Christmas decorations

I have some stuff to do for school and then I am going to get ready later this afternoon and head to my appointment. I hope you all have a wonderful day! Don't work too hard and drive safe!

OhOh I forgot to say another good thing happened to me today! I have a charity collections box for small change on my shop counter, it's for radio Christmas, a charity station which helps street kids in Latin America. A customer was gobsmacked that there was such a station, Christmas music all year etc ....then she comments that she bets it's the same generic 30 songs, so I had great pleasure in saying to her well if you want something with a bit more oomph and you want to listen to some really great stuff tune in to kringle radio!!, I wrote the web address down for her she was so chuffed she put £5 in the charity box anyway and was off home to investigate kringle radio. It's great to share the Christmas cheer

Thank you! No official recipe, but this is what I did:

5 quarts tomato juice/puree
Approximately 3 tablespoons of a dried Chipotle seasoning
Brown sugar, to taste
Simmer until thick - about 2 1/2 hours

Sounds delicious. Thank you! I'm not sure if I've ever seen dried Chipotle seasoning! Or do you make your own?

Thank you!!! My hubby dropped off the peach crisp (unbaked) at their house last night b/c he said they weren't going to be home. Here they were home, so I could have baked it & brought it over warm. Ah well... Sounded like he had a good birthday!

I was getting a lot of work done on the Camaro yesterday evening when Nancy called to get me to pick up the kids from church. Now, she knew I've been waiting all week for Wednesday, so I could get something done on the car, but noooo, we can't have that. Grrr.

My brother and I usually have lunch with mom on Fridays, but she's going to the mountains for the weekend, so we're meeting her today, instead.

Nutmeg is such a great flavor and used in so many differnt things you might not even notice. Some people put it in chocolate, chilli, mixed in marinade and always in EggNog. Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy the drink

In my family we use nutmegg more in some sauces and other meals. But never in sweet food / beverage. That's why I didn't like the frappuccino.

Good morning MMC!!! Back to work today! Boooo!!! We had a nice time with family last night celebrating Mikes birthday. The bbq chicken lasagna & the cabbage/macaroni/sausage were all delicious - thankfully! You never know how stuff is going to turn out the 1st time you make it!

Our neighbor Cory got engaged yesterday (the one who pitches for the SD Padres) - there was a party for him at his parents last night & I'm bummed we missed it. We were both so exhausted when we got home from the meal & they had a HOUSE FULL of people. Cars up & down the street! We'll have to walk over there tonight or sometime! He drove into town on Tuesday with his (now) fiance - he saw a surgeon in Cincinnati yesterday - he had Tommy Johns surgery last year & he is still experiencing soreness in his elbow when he pitches. Hopefully they can get something figured out for him!! He has worked SO hard to get there!!

Honestly I'm too lazy to take coffee from home with me. I haven't give up hope that someday a starbucks will open up nearby. A girl can dream, right?

We have so many Starbucks on Long Island, it's crazy. We don't have to drive more than 5 minutes to get to one.

I tried to pop in here earlier but I couldn't log on for some reason. The morning has flown by. I ran a couple of errands and have most of my chores finished, just need to do another load of laundry and some ironing. I'm having a quick coffee break and will be heading back out, this time to the pet store. Not too much else going on. Oh I also need to write a menu plan and grocery list for next week. It's a beautiful day, sunny with a high of 72 degrees. I should probably get outside to wash my truck too, it really needs it!

Good Morning MMC!!!!! It's going to be a hot rainy day here in Central Indy!!! I don't like the hot but we really need the rain and we've already got 1.5 inches this morning!!! Not much on the agenda today. I need to go collect my big powerball earnings and then I think I'm going to run to Target to look for my niece's some Christmas gifts. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning, everyone!
Today I have my follow-up appointment with my surgeon. I think I am healing well and I feel good except I have some numbness that I discovered this morning. I read that it can happen after surgery and will fade in weeks/months if the damage is temporary. I couldn't even imagine having permanent nerve damage so I really hope that's not the case.

Hope all goes/went well with your app and yes numbness can happen

Good morning MMC!!! Back to work today! Boooo!!! We had a nice time with family last night celebrating Mikes birthday. The bbq chicken lasagna & the cabbage/macaroni/sausage were all delicious - thankfully! You never know how stuff is going to turn out the 1st time you make it!

Good morning MMC!!! Back to work today! Boooo!!! We had a nice time with family last night celebrating Mikes birthday. The bbq chicken lasagna & the cabbage/macaroni/sausage were all delicious - thankfully! You never know how stuff is going to turn out the 1st time you make it!

Our neighbor Cory got engaged yesterday (the one who pitches for the SD Padres) - there was a party for him at his parents last night & I'm bummed we missed it. We were both so exhausted when we got home from the meal & they had a HOUSE FULL of people. Cars up & down the street! We'll have to walk over there tonight or sometime! He drove into town on Tuesday with his (now) fiance - he saw a surgeon in Cincinnati yesterday - he had Tommy Johns surgery last year & he is still experiencing soreness in his elbow when he pitches. Hopefully they can get something figured out for him!! He has worked SO hard to get there!!

Congrats to your neighbor Cory on his engagement! Hope they can help get his elbow some relief. I'll keep him in my prayers.

Good afternoon!
I tried to pop in here earlier but I couldn't log on for some reason. The morning has flown by. I ran a couple of errands and have most of my chores finished, just need to do another load of laundry and some ironing. I'm having a quick coffee break and will be heading back out, this time to the pet store. Not too much else going on. Oh I also need to write a menu plan and grocery list for next week. It's a beautiful day, sunny with a high of 72 degrees. I should probably get outside to wash my truck too, it really needs it!

I am doing well & feeling better than I have in a long while!! I had an interview at TJ Maxx today, and it went very well. I went in there with a lot of confidence and nailed it. They offered me a position, and I start next week! There is a lot of growth potential, and I know exactly where I'm headed :smile:

I feel so relieved!! We were worried that we would have to move if I didn't find something soon. We'll still have to cut back on things, but this is a great start! And it feels wonderful to set goals again, and to be working toward them.

Thank you all for your thoughts & prayers, they have really meant a lot to me.

Harlowe continues to do well =] Thank God!! Feeling very blessed.

We are getting a lot of wonderful rain today, and we really need it. There was even a gorgeous rainbow.

Off to do some laundry, and walk Har.

With Christmas coming, you should do very well in retail! It's no picnic, but if you like people, you will enjoy it. Perhaps the rainbow is trying to tell you that good things are on the way.

I'd like to think that!!

I worked in retail for 10 years before we moved to Nevada, and I actually really enjoyed it. It was a saving grace for me at that time in my life, and I made some really good friends along the way. One position was at a floral/gift shop, and the other was acting as a jewelry coordinator.

I'll have to pay my dues again a bit to get good hours, but I don't mind that. I'm just happy that I'll get to be creative again, and be around products I love.
