Christmas Countdown - 2013

Whew - I am beat! I spent the entire day in the kitchen. My mom made a huge dinner so I helped her out with doing the dishes. That doesn't sound like much but there were a million! Then I decided to make a Texas Sheet Cake from scratch and oh my goodness it was delicious! I wish I would have licked the entire bowl of frosting clean lol. Just thinking about it makes me want to go cut another piece!

I didn't get to do any Halloween activities yet. I think we are saving the pumpkins for tomorrow. We are going to watch a couple of Halloween movies tonight, though! My arm is a little bit better today except I keep getting random twinges of pain. At least it's improving!

What's new with you guys? Anything fun planned for tomorrow?

That's so funny about the water bottles! Sometimes I give my dogs an empty toilet paper roll to play with. I saw a friend of mine give her dog an empty paper towel roll, he played with it until it fell apart. I figured a toilet paper roll was more Molly and Maggie's size.

I actually took a class two semesters ago specifically on interviewing, introductions, preparing resumes, questions that are asked in interviews, etc. I just started interviewing a couple of weeks ago and the preparation really helped. Hey, I never would have caught your mistake! I know nothing about cars, sadly. Well, I hope your check engine light never comes on again! It's always scary when it does. Mine came on once and it turned out to be from the gas cap. Glad everything is taken care of!



Awww! She will be fine! You deserve some time to get out of the house for a little bit. I am sure you will worry about her the whole time but she will be perfectly fine when you get back!

I am sorry to hear about Tigger's passing! Tigger's pedigree is so intriguing! I do love her name, I think it sounds much cuter than the others. It's a good thing she was your pet compared to being in the shows - now you have wonderful memories to look back on!

Talked to my sister and they are having fun on their camping trip. The only thing is the ranger won't let them have a fire since it's so windy out.


(Which it's really only blowing like 5mph so I don't see it as that big of a deal)

Tigger passed away years ... heck, decades ... ago. We had her at home when I was little, but I still have lots of photos of her. And I still have her pedigree. Her ancestors were all cat-show Champions and Grand Champions, but because Tigger had a tiny little cream-colored spot on her white bib, she was disqualified from cat shows, so she was sold as a pet when she was a kitten. We got her from a woman who adored Winnie-the-Pooh---she named her Manx cat Eeyore, and her dachshund was Roo. Tigger's full name was Tigger-the-Pooh---and that's what it says on her pedigree! But her ancestors had names like Starlight Mario, Malibu Silver Cinder, and Wee Heather Holly-Ann of Gray Ivy.

She was a beauty. I love all of the names!

I don't know why I bother buying so many cat toys. All I have to do is throw a bag on the floor and they entertain themselves for hours. Any kind of bag. They get right inside of it. Crazy cats!

Good morning!
Well I sat myself down in bed last night to do some reading and immediately fell asleep. I woke up at 2:00 in the morning. The book was still in my hands, I was fully dressed (including shoes), never took my makeup off. I hate when that happens. Then I found my husband on the couch in the den, the tv was on and he was sound asleep. What a lively bunch we are. Getting old stinks. And of course after I settled back in to bed I was wide awake and tossed and turned for the rest of the night. Then one of my cats jumped on my night table at about 3:00 a.m. and I swear she was looking at something in my room, but there was nothing there. Unless she saw a ghost, lol. My cats do that once in a while and it really freaks me out. Anyway, its probably going to be a long day. My goal is to get all of my daily chores done and go food shopping at some point. I will be happy if I get that done.
I hope everyone is well and has a happy Saturday!!!

Previous fur kids I had in the house would do that, too. It is rather scary late at night/early morning.

We live an hour and a half away from our nearest big town where we can do a big shop. We only get there every5-6 weeks or so. We went yesterday and I was so thrilled to see all the Christmas 'stuff' out on sale. It puts me in such a good mood! It is so lovely to see and I can't wait until the full on decorations are up and we can hear the carols playing...in the shops that is...already having them playing in my car! What a fantastic time of year...and it will only get better.:!!

Actually, they had me make sure my gas cap was firmly closed before I brought the car in!

I still have dreams where I walk into a room and see Tigger there, and in the dream I'm never surprised to see her, even though I know she's been gone a long time. I'm glad she got to spend her life as a pet, too.
