Christmas Countdown - 2013

Well, Halloween was disappointing. Barely any kids said "Trick or Treat" when they arrived. They just stood there holding out their pillowcases. I think maybe five said thank you. So many kids/teens didn't even wear costumes! When one child saw what we were giving away, they came up with an elaborate lie as to why they needed extra! It was crazy! The weather was also terrible - gusts of wind and downpours.

Definitely different than Halloween in the past!

Bring on Christmas!

I had a conversation with my daughter earlier about how different it is now compared to when they were little. I hope you were still able to enjoy the day!

Hello and happy Halloween to my fellow MMC'ers. I had a blast giving out candy tonight and checking out all the creative costumes. We had off and on rain so not as many kids as I expected but still a fun evening. Halloween is such a fun and goofy holiday, I just love it. Hope you guys had a good one. TGIF!

Well, we enter the final few hours of October....I love Halloween...but I like when it's over, too. All the excitement, the kids dressed up, seeing people you haven't seen in awhile....it's all so cool....but when it's over....and this calm sets in....you realize that in a few hours it's November....

and November is when the magic happens....

I am so glad to hear this! I've been praying....that would be awful but I'm glad families are safe together!

As I tucked my son in bed he said, "I don't want to go to sleep because when I wake up it will mean Halloween is over." He loves Halloween!

Well another successful and fun Halloween is in the books. I always get a little sad as they end because I know my little ones won't be little forever and one day they'll tell me they're too old to trick or treat. But I'll enjoy each one while they come!

Here's my son holding the candy bowl. Some kids were too afraid to come get any candy from him but he enjoyed scaring them!

Good evening,

Trick or treating went well, it was drizzling the whole time, but for the first time in 3 years the kids trick or treated on Halloween. Last year we had the remnants of superstorm Sandy, that postponed it, and 2 years ago the freak October snowstorm canceled it. The kids did well, but I should have probably stayed behind because I am paying for it with my back pain again. I am going to take tomorrow off to rest my back, and call my doctor to have him check on it. I think resting it is the best thing to do rather than lifting 70lb cases for part of the day.
Watching the Bengals game now, so far they have pretty much coughed up a hairball, but they are driving. forget that just another hairball.

Halloween here just took a tragic turn....a tornado hit about 25 miles from here....kids were out....

as of right now, they aren't letting anyone in or out of town...rumors are running rampant about how many people are missing....

I will pray for them.
