In answer to your question: No, the decorations at Crabtree have changed very little over the last 10 years.
They are stuck in a rut so to speak.....but it's a real nice rut!

Forty years ago (yes, the mall is that old!) they used to have Santa and his sleigh with reindeer on the roof but they took that down by the end of the 70's.

Crabtree and I go back a long way. Watched it being built back in 1971-1972 on my way to high school each morning.

Thanks, Crown and made! It's a very nice rut. I am a big fan of the traditional green (trees) with lights. It looks classy.

That would have been quite neat! Too bad they stopped after the first decade... but I can see it being a lot of work.

Fascinated. I'd have a connection if I saw a mall get built like that, too! I'm sure it has been great to you all these years!

Just got back from the mall, the Christmas decorations are going up and they are playing non-stop Christmas music. As soon as I walked in I heard "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" and I saw that they are setting up for the big guy himself!

Thanks for sharing Homemakin! I didn't quite have the opportunity to go to the mall yet here, but I don't think it will be in the same spirit as yours. Looking great. I think you're the first to mention about the Christmas music being played. Nice to know it's already started in some places!!

Yes, that's good to know.
Crabtree hasn't started playing Christmas music yet either but it's not far away!

(BTW, they were in the process of constructing Santa's village when I was out there yesterday.)

I walked into Shoppers Drug Mart on November 1st to find the following... It wasn't much, but it was great to see Christmas decorating has begun in one of Canada's biggest chains.

Hartman's, my local grocer, has packed away their Halloween decorations and made way for the Most Wonderful Time of the Year. Everything isn't out yet, but it's coming along!
