Some things I picked up at our local Christmas shop which opened this evening.

The stores around here are pretty straight forward on pricing. The books, CD's and DVD's are a buck or 2, The most expensive Christmas items I have seen have probably been about $12.

One of my "secret" Christmas shopping places is shopgoodwill.com it is just like Ebay, sometimes you can get some great deals.

Thanks for sharing! I didn't even know they had an online store. Wow, the Christmas items they have.

Good evening, everyone. Hope you're all having a great evening. I've been relaxing with the kids and DH, watching some Hallmark movies and getting caught up on here. I'm getting ready to head to bed now for a nap, gotta work tonight.

I hope you all have a great night at the Pines. I will talk to you all tomorrow. If you like country music, the CMA's are on tonight. My favorite man, besides my husband of course, Luke Bryan will be on!!! Haha.

LOL, they try that here too, it is definitely a goodwill thing! I cannot count the number of times I have told them that a $3 item it from the $ store!

the yule log channel is up and running again! All Christmas music, listening now, it is great! To bad it is not throwing off any heat.

They had a car jack that was covered in rust and grease for $40 when it's like $30 brand new.

They had $20 sleeping bags for $40.

A Santa Salt and pepper shaker set that you can buy at walgreens for 50 cents a piece at christmas time for $7.

It's just crazy.

you would think they would get out flyers or catalogs and check up on these things. OR get someone who is a shopper!
In our store they wanted $500 for a diamond ring they said the manager took to the jewelry store and had appraised. I asked to see the paper work on it, they had none. I asked how they could have it appraised and not have the paper work. Well, she said, the manager could be trusted and if he said that is what it was worth then that is what is was worth! Silly me!

Signs of the fast-approaching Season! I just saw my first two Christmas commercials of the year! One was for Home Depot and Christmas was everywhere! The other was for a spin electric toothbrush. I wasn't paying much attention, but Deck The Halls was playing in the background. Both light up my night. So happy we're so close.

Much thanks for the well-wishes about receiving calls for teaching. I received my first call while I was at the gym (at about 5pm). Tomorrow, I officially begin my career as a supply teacher. It will be my first time in front of a class in about a year and a half. Wish me luck!

Yeah, that is crazy.

I asked our's how they come up with their prices and they said it's just who ever is working in the back that day and what they think it's worth. So i told them they need to give them each an hour to walk next door to wal mart and just walk up and down the aisles.
