Thanks, for the update. It would probably be best I sleep in, with the new car I can't justify spending money on more decor. (even though I just put a bid on a Possible Dreams Santa on Ebay. My wife is going to kill me if I win.)

I agree!!! I only buy books or video's there because there prices are the same at all the stores. I refuse to buy anything else.

I do a lot of book shopping at Goodwill, can't beat hardcover books for $2 or $1 for paperback. In this part of Western Massachusetts there is a black hole of book stores. Kmart has got crap, Walmart is not much better. A grocery store, Stop & Shop is where I have had the best luck for books if I don't get them on Amazon.

Depending how I feel tomorrow, I may start packaging up our Halloween decor, and slowly start working some of the Christmas stuff out. I have to remember to take it easy though. I could just annoy all of you here instead, that way I guarantee taking it easy. cheesy

What's your favorite Christmas tea? I've been keeping an eye out for the seasonal flavors at the supermarket, but no luck yet. I miss Stash Holiday Chai. I enjoyed it in 2011, then couldn't find it at all last year.

It would have to be Whittard' s Christmas tea blend which is the one I am currently drinking. It 's a loose tea blend with hints of cinnamon, orange peel, vanilla and cloves. Do you have Whittard Shop in the US? They specialise in finest tea and coffee and their shops are a lovely experience. Other than that I always look out for seasonal teas in the supermarket and I like the ones that are just a little different to the usual blends. I would love to try Stash Holiday Chai, from the description I read it sound's delicious!!

I am getting so excited & overwhelmed looking through the Thanskgiving magazines. So many things I want to try! I need to decide on a few & plan the Thanksgiving lunch! Once I figure out what I'm going to make, the others can chime in with what they want to bring! So exciting!!! I need to get in gear though - I need to start cleaning house so I'm not trying to do it all the week of Thanksgiving. We will have the Turkey Trott at our house in the morning & then the inlaws coming for lunch. Busy day! Dinner (supper) will be at my sisters, so I need to make something to bring there too! SO FUN!! I'm in such a holiday mood today!!!



I have 2 more rows to go on my Christmas afghan - and then a border. Hopefully I can finish that tonight!!!

I saw my Dad outside this morning on my way to work - he was bringing the trash out to the road for pick up, so I was happy to see him out & about after his procedure yesterday! Thanks for all the prayers!!

And more good news! Mr. reports that our new stovetop was FINALLY installed! It's a long story, but having it finally in feels like a major victory. After all we went through, I hope it cooks well! (That is, as well as it can considering the cooks.)

I feel like I have been away from here for too long. I was going through the posts on Monday night and I fell asleep with the computer on my lap. These muscle relaxers are really doing a number on me. Last night when I finally was able to get on MMC, I responded to one or two posts and then MMC wouldn't let me back in. I kept getting the "Sign up to be a Platinum Member screen." I am now out of work until at least Saturday, my back is doing better but still very, very sore. I can't bend over to pick things up but it is a bit better from where it doesn't feel like being squeezed by a vice.

I do have some very exciting news, we bought a new car yesterday!!!!! A 2014 Chevy Equinox, we weren't planning on it until the spring but the deal we couldn't pass up!!! We are also trading in the vehicle we weren't planning on trading, but to go to an All wheel drive vehicle from a minivan that is not much better than a sled in the snow I think we made the right choice. The best thing is our monthly payment will be less than what we are paying on the van. We should be picking it up Monday or Tuesday. We cannot wait!!!

Another great deal I found yesterday at Goodwill, I found another Jim Shore Santa decoration at GW for $4!!!!! I bought it and checked it out online, it sells at retail for $58!!!!!

Much thanks for the well-wishes about receiving calls for teaching. I received my first call while I was at the gym (at about 5pm). Tomorrow, I officially begin my career as a supply teacher. It will be my first time in front of a class in about a year and a half. Wish me luck!

Afternoon guys....or morning to my friends across the pond. Happy Pines Day!! Big night at the Pines later I imagine!!

I am just getting a few things done online while sipping a hot mug of Christmas tea and Mistletoe Over Manhattan is on the TV. As I am typing this I just saw the Christmas ad for Debenhams, I have been looking out for it!

Walked to the shops after dropping my eldest to school this morning. There are a lot more Christmas things out. I have seen a few things I want to get, so perhaps next week! It's a big week here. A lot of places are switching on their lights and decorations for the season at the end of this week. The city switches on Friday and I think my town does to.

Well I hope you all have a great day. I am just finishing up something on the PC and then I have a few things to get done around the house before picking my son up from school.

See you all at the Pines tonight! I hear there is a special surprise entertainment in store.........

I can't wait for my town to switch the lights on too. Several streets aren't decorated yet so I've seen council guys putting the lights up in the past couple of days. I've heard the Christmas tree will be up and so lights will be turned on here at around 3rd week of November so I'm really looking forward to that. ^^

I think they think I am nuts at the Goodwill store, they always recognize me because I am always in the store once a week looking at the Christmas section. I have told them I collect Christmas stuff, and I get occasional comments. To each his own, right?

I love Christmas, and I love collecting it. I have found many treasures that I will cherish that others no longer want.
Sorry, it has been annoying me when I get comments from people there, customers and employees. I just had to get that off my chest.

I think there will always be people in every case who comment on you or think that you are at least weird. I guess that these people don't understand how such a little thing, like looking at Christmas decorations, can cheer you up because for them, they are simply Christmas decorations while for you, they are more meaningful than that. I would say do what makes you happy because it's okey to be different, isn't it? ;] Best wishes!

Good morning everyone! I can't believe it's Thursday already. Wow! I went to 'Starbucks' yesterday and noticed that four more Holiday drinks have been introduced. Eggnog latte, gingerbread latte, nutmeg latte and something-else mocha. I guess it's easy to become addicted to 'Starbucks' at this time of the year when they have so many delicious drinks. ^^ I tried salted caramel mocha because I hadn't tried it before. Yummy! I'm getting ready for my lectures, and I hope to submit my essay today which I finished writing on Monday. The deadline is next Monday but I love submitting my works earlier.

Good morning all!!!!! So glad to be able to pop in this morning and say HI. It's been crazy around here this week. I finally have a day off of work when the kids are in school, so hopefully I can get some more decorating done today. Busy weekend again, DD has a soccer tournament both days so that will take up most of the time since it's a hour away.

Well better get the kids moving so I can get them off to school and then I can come home and jump into decorating !!!!!!!!

Big game tonight...i hated this game as a coach. I usually started puking (sorry) by two. Im not coaching, but I still get real edgy and nervous about this game. I keep telling myself its just a game, its just a game...but its not. Other team is favored by 24 points, but games arent played on paper...i just hope we stay healthy for the playoffs. The other teams coach is one of my best friends. We were 3-3 against each other. He called me last night and told me he hopes they beat us so bad that we dont field a team next year. Told him I hope he breaks his leg walking out to the game from the locker room...some friendship, huh? It was all in good nature...I dont want him to break his leg! Well, maybe.

They could just go online and get a ballpark figure, I would be very leery of shopping there. It is almost like they are skimming a little more "off the top" for profit instead of all of the money made going to the needy. (just my opinion)

Those with disabilities cannot even shop there because everything is up on top of the clothing racks, so anyone in a wheel chair has no access to any of it. That has been a pet peeve of mine since they re did all the stores in our area that way. No one I have talked to in the stores seem to be bothered by that fact. You would think if their goal is to work with those who have disabilities then they would also make their store accessable to them.

You get these comments? Umm... If it is there for sale that means people will come in to buy it. Did they think they would put it on the shelves and no one is going to buy it? I think it is there for a reason and they should be happy to get your money to keep the place going! You be sure to come in there in July next year dressed head to toe in all Christmas attire, t-shirt, socks, elf shoes, Santa hat, etc. and really get them going! :lol:

We have a local thrift store up the road with some really nice people who run it. It is so small that they have to rotate stock. Every year in July they get all the Christmas items out and have "Christmas in July" sale for the entire month. People flock there to buy up Christmas and they know I will be there. It's a thrift store for charity that our church even donates money to. They are happy to get my money for a worthy cause.

Have fun shopping and don't let them get to ya! (even though it is annoying!) =)
