Christmas Countdown - 2013

Good Morning MMC!!!!!! It's going to be a warm day with a high of 70 degrees here. Unfortunately we are also under a high risk of storms and tornado's. No fun. Not much on my agenda for today. I just got done eating breakfast and reading the paper and since I didn't see anything in the ads that I just had to run out and get, I'm going to start some laundry. Then it will be time for the last Nascar race of the year. I'm also going to unpack all of my Santa's and sit them on the dining room table so I can plan where they are going to go. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Good Christmas Season Morning, everyone!

Much like a lot of the US, Ottawa has been hit with a warm-spell, showers and gusting winds of about 60km/h (40mph). At least I don't really have to be outside today! As for tomorrow, we shall see if I receive a phone call to teach.

I had a short visit to Hallmark yesterday. It was great to see all of their 2013 Christmas decorations on display. I did not have time to get to the Rideau Centre. I will sometime this week.

As for last night, it was a very close friend's 30th Birthday! We had a surprise party at his house. There were about 30 of us there. It was a real good time! He was truly surprised when he opened the door. I don't quite recall being at a surprise party before, so it was a lot of fun! Now, I must look forward to Christmas parties!

Well, I should do a few things and then grab some breakfast. Kim is actually still sleeping. I think she's doing her best to get a full 10 hours of sleep. She's good at that. I'm really hungry. Hopefully she awakens shortly. Also, I hope that this Sunday is much better than the previous two. The Packers need a win badly today and the ball is in the hands of Scott Tolzien. We'll see how it goes!

Toronto Santa Clause parade is on today. We considered going but I woke with such a sore throat, we decided it would be better to just stay home.
Trying to drown it now and am starting to feel better. Besides, I lost my catchers mitt and refuse to catch anything that might make me sick!

He got some rest, but he says he coughed a lot during the night … I slept through it, which is unusual, 'cause I sleep pretty lightly. I think we're both just going to stay in and crash today.

Hey all,

The good thing today, 2 of my local radio stations went all Christmas music!!!! So with the free 6 months of SiriusXM in the new car, and the radio stations we now have 4 different Christmas stations to listen to. We usually have 2 more stations switch to all Christmas, and we can hook up our MP3 players to the new car so we are all set for Christmas music wherever we go!!!

I've just finished buying groceries and Woolworths is playing classic Christmas songs... and I love Christmas music too Xmas365! Unfortunately I have a Christmas ringtone too and as I'm singing along I missed several calls from security and family saying my house alarm had been triggered. Everything is alright. Although small movements shouldn't have set it off I think it was the budgie having a hissy fit... or an early visit from the big guy hisself

Thanks for the kind thoughts. I'm feeling pretty good except for a few sniffles, and being a little anxious. I've got a heavy workweek coming up, then Thanksgiving and the long weekend when we do gift-wrapping and cards and packages, and then I put up the tree and decorate it … I just can't get a cold myself right now! We'll just stay in today and take it easy.

I'm glad there were a lot of people there in the proper spirit! And I'm tickled to hear about the tickets you won!

Wayne and I went to Downtown Dallas Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony last night. I told Wayne the way people grumble about Christmas starting so early it might not be as crowded as it has been in the past since they are lighting the tree nearly 2 weeks before Thanksgiving. They usually don't light it that early. Boy, I was wrong! Those people who gripe must be very few and very loud (making us believe there is a lot) because there were thousands of people out in there in the Christmas spirit!

While out there Wayne and I participated in a game with a local radio station. Wayne won and I figured it would be a t-shirt. Nope! They gave us a pair of front row tickets to an upcoming Christmas parade!

Here is a picture of the store front of Neiman Marcus in Downtown Dallas. This picture does not do it justice. The lights twinkle so in the picture it appears that some of the lights are burned out, kinda hard to get the picture with them all lit! It's very impressive walking up on it!

Its me back again
Sorry i have not been on in a while but i always thought of you,s and the babies and the life has just been hard. and especially this last few weeks i think i went though hell and back again , an you know the biggest friend i had was a mmc member i love her to bits..

To not bore you,s to much. scooby this past 4/6 weeks was not eating right, had him at 3 different vets , i came home with different things and they said it was this ,that and something else.but last week he almost stopped eating. and to make a long story short i decided friday to get a x ray done and omg there was a ball ( tennis size stuck in his gut) no option only to operate by this stage he was still knocked out so another 2 1/2 hours it took i never want to go though anything like it again 8 hours i spent at he vets as i wood not go home but they were great.
Hes doing good over the weekend and starting to eat
Will post photo.s just to you see what can happen so please al you doggy owners be careful

At one stage christmas was not part of my plan this year, as the dog has losted so much weight everyone thought the worst but somehow i knew it was,nt dont ask me how but i got a feeling..

Enough about me . Hows all of you been.. Any birthday i have missed really hope it was good one. and hoping you had a nice halloween honest i thought about you,s a lot but guess just did not want to burden ppl with my problems . i had one mmc which made up for it , a real star ~} any thing inportant please let me know

Feel bad about missing out on so much on your lifes this pass few months
So with that am gonna leave and make some dinner think it must be the 1st sunday dinner that has been made in a month lol

Feel better soon … I'm a big believer in hot tea with honey and lemon for the throat and chest. I also stock up on lemon & ginger herbal tea during the cold season.

Happy Saturday, everyone ...

Mr.'s cold is getting worse, darnit … I put on another pot of quickie chicken soup (two boxes of chicken broth, a cup of chopped baby carrots, a cup of chopped cooked chicken, and a cup of canned diced potatoes, plus a shake of onion powder and a shake of celery salt---done in half an hour). Smells good in here! He's just about to have a bowl while it's hot and fresh. We went out and got some cold medicine, and I'll be his nurse this weekend.

I hope Mr. is better soon, Merry, and that you do not come down with anything! {{{HUGS}}}
