Well another crappy day here. I got a call shortly after 11am from one of my mom's coworkers saying that they thought she was having another stroke. She wouldn't let them call an ambulance, so I rushed up to her work and took her to the ER. After another round of tests, they decided that it was another TIA and they decided it was safe to send her home. I didn't agree with the last part since she still couldn't walk on her own and was having a hard time swallowing. They said she would be fine though and sent her home. Now that we are home, she does seem to be doing a little better though. So hopefully she is back to normal by tomorrow morning.

Praying for your mom, Made, as well as you. I agree with you, that they should have at least keep her overnight, observation and checked an MRI, but doctor's don't always see it that way. If her symptoms don't subside, take her back! I'll be thinking of you guys. Keep me updated.

I hope your mom is feeling better tomorrow as well; I will be thinking of you both, when I say my prayers tonight....

that is scary, been through that with my mom. I am shocked they would send her home before making sure she had recovered. I hope someone can stay with her until at least morning.
Praying for you both

Yeah, she lives with me. I moved her in when she started having some issues with what seemed like heart attacks 6 years ago and we couldn't trust her to live on her own anymore. So I'm here to monitor her.

Good evening, all! Happy Pines Day! How are you all? I am doing well. Just watching Christmas shows with the kids and getting caught up on here.

What are you all up to? Nothing else is really going on here. I didn't get much sleep today. I got up at 11:30. I had a massage scheduled and went and did that. I ended up falling back asleep around 4, for 45 minutes or so, while DH made dinner. I plan on laying back down here in a little bit. I work again tonight.

Tomorrow, I will be getting up around 11. I will be going in to EA's school. I will be helping with her Thanksgiving party and meal. The chef at her school with be cooking a Thanksgiving meal with all the fixings. It is really nice and I'm looking forward to it.

Well, I am off to read some of the boards, then as I said, I'm going to lay down for a little while. I will talk to you all later! I'm off to the hot tub for a little while! See you guys there! Enjoy your evening! God Bless and keep smiling! :)

Your mom is very lucky to have you!

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

I apologize for my absence yesterday. Our network was down all day, and I'm the local "IT Assistant" for the real IT guys in Nebraska. I spent the day troubleshooting hardware, then replacing the switch. It's finally working, so I'm back.

Today is Elizabeth's 13th birthday! It's also our 19th anniversary! I can't believe Elizabeth is 13. I have a picture of her on my desk when she was around 6. If she jumped up on my lap today looking just like that, it would make me so happy. Not that I'm not happy; she's growing up into a beautiful young lady, inside & out. I'm so very proud of her, but I miss carrying her with one arm, or putting her on my shoulders for the long walk across the Walmart parking lot.

Ack! Ignore me! I'm just a little weepy at her reaching this milestone. I cooked her favorite omelet this morning, and we let her open a couple of presents before school. We'll have a big family party for her on Sunday after Nutcracker.

She has her full Nutcracker dress rehearsal this evening, and she's excited about that. It'll be a long night tonight. LOL

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Happy Birthday to Elizabeth and Happy Anniversary to you and Nancy!

I know how it feels my friend, trust me, that feeling only gets worse as they get older and start dating. It's a punch in the gut, when you see them growing up in front of you and turning into little ladies. There are sooooo many times when I want to pull my daughter back when she wants to do things and keep her here with me, but I know deep down inside that you have to let them go (well at least to a point). I know that I will always be her Dad and she knows that she will always be my baby....:-D And I know that Elizabeth will always feel the same about you~

Prayers for you and your mom! Take care, friend!

Amen... You a good son! I think what you have done and are doing for you mom is wonderful Made; God Bless you!:-D

I remember those days when the kids had Thanksgiving meals at school. With four kids, I was able to attend four of them. I miss those days. Hmmm. Maybe I will go over to the school on Friday and pretend I am a parent there to be with my kiddo, LOL!!!

I think I forgot to tell you, Sugar, that I have two nieces and both of them are nurses supervising the other nurses on their shifts. I am so proud of them!

that is great. My mom live across town, but she is in a seniors building where they are always cheeking up on her. She is also on the waiting list for a unit in a building that has call buttons and 24 hours nursing care if needed.
(across town here is less than 10min drive)
I am the only family member that lives close enough to her should help be needed. I still worry about her though. She is becoming more fragile every year.

I do cherish these days, as I know it will go by fast. I love doing these things with the kids as well!

I am sure you are proud of your nieces, as you should be! They've tried to talk me in to becoming a nurse supervisor, but at this time, I'm just not interested in it. Where I work, our supervisor don't make much more, for the work they do and the load they put up with it.
