Christmas Countdown - 2013

You are such a hard worker, Xmas. I can hardly wait to see the pics of your decorations!

The problem is I keep coming up with new ideas, I think I talked my wife into a new one for decorating. If I have the time I may do it. I only have two more days off before Thanksgiving. So I have my work cut out for me.

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

I apologize for my absence yesterday. Our network was down all day, and I'm the local "IT Assistant" for the real IT guys in Nebraska. I spent the day troubleshooting hardware, then replacing the switch. It's finally working, so I'm back.

Today is Elizabeth's 13th birthday! It's also our 19th anniversary! I can't believe Elizabeth is 13. I have a picture of her on my desk when she was around 6. If she jumped up on my lap today looking just like that, it would make me so happy. Not that I'm not happy; she's growing up into a beautiful young lady, inside & out. I'm so very proud of her, but I miss carrying her with one arm, or putting her on my shoulders for the long walk across the Walmart parking lot.

Ack! Ignore me! I'm just a little weepy at her reaching this milestone. I cooked her favorite omelet this morning, and we let her open a couple of presents before school. We'll have a big family party for her on Sunday after Nutcracker.

She has her full Nutcracker dress rehearsal this evening, and she's excited about that. It'll be a long night tonight. LOL

One issue though. There will be a problem with comments added during the year which will separate the 2007-2013 special posts from next year's addition. Perhaps it should be locked for internal comments so all the posts will always be together.
But then, how could we add next year?

Thank you for all the get well wishes for the children. They are much better. I am just having a break with some Christmas music, tea and catching up on here. I managed to put out a couple Christmas knick knacks out last night. My little one broke a small snow globe that Mr. Festive gave me when we first moved in to our house a few years ago It's a shame but atleast he didn't cut himself thank goodness. I can see it's going to be quite the challenge having tree and decorations up with my cheeky little monkey around!

I have so much to plan and get done, anyone else feeling a bit overwhelmed? I love it though......makes it all the more exciting LOL!

Glad he wasn't cut!!! When I was 3, I knocked over my grandma's Christmas tree and broke several of the ornaments. She wasn't to happy and use to bring it up often as I grew up.

You can get your sweet revenge next Thursday by consuming large helpings of one of the offenders. I hope your aches and pains leave you soon. Hang in there, Thanksgiving is coming.

Everyone always asks me I must hate turkey because I have to deal with them. I just tell them, that turkey tastes even better after "slinging" them for the last 1.5 months. It also helps with toning the muscles, but this has already been a painful November for me. cheesy I look forward to a slowdown the week after Thanksgiving, but we are short a week between turkey day and Christmas this year so I may not get that much needed slowdown.

I was just doing a little bit of online Christmas shopping but I need to start moving and get some chores done. The online shopping is great but I could spend all day looking at things and that's not good! I think I'm going to head out to the stores this afternoon to do some more shopping. I have to keep chipping away at that list!
My daughter just texted me and told me she is coming home. She is still so sick. The poor thing. She's upset because she really has to be careful how many hours she misses in this program. It stinks!

I think it's wonderful that she's everywhere, whether it's wishing us a Merry Christmas with her polar bears or by being alive in our hearts

I love that you're putting the polar bear finger puppet on your tree in her memory.

Last year, I purchased a keepsake ornament, it's a lighthouse that has a polar bear & Santa decorating it. She was on the fence about getting it, and so was I, (we had already spent a lot!) but we said "What the heck!" Because it made us happy! It really makes me smile when I look at it.

Good Morning MMC!!!!!! It's going to be a decent day here with a high in the 40's. Some rain will start moving in tonight though. Not much going on here today. Just a few things to get done. I didn't get to sleep until almost 4am though so I'm kinda dragging this morning. The coffee pot will be working over time this afternoon before I leave for the pines. I almost forgot, my extra 2 weeks are up. I can finally stop wearing that crazy aircast boot around the house!!!!!!!! Now lets see if I can get through the next 6 weeks without causing any pain in it. (I highly doubt it)

Good morning,

It is quite chilly this morning, I turned on the electric fireplace to keep warm, not a good sign when I have to work in a cooler/freezer. Watching Thanksgiving Unwrapped to start to get in the Thanksgiving mood, I look forward to watching the parade next week, it is one of my favorite parts of Thanksgiving. Especially when the big guy shows up.

Unfortunately, I have to start to get ready for work.

Well, the sad news (though exciting, too): my daughter leaves for San Diego this Sunday to start life anew after graduating college. San Diego is a mere 2,995 miles from "home"

The great news: she has already purchased her airline ticket to come back for Christmas, arriving on the 22nd and staying until the 27th.

"I'll Be Home for Christmas" and "There's No Place Like Home for the Holidays" will play a special part in our Christmas 2013 celebrations, to be sure.

O boy it is cold there there is a wind that wood cut you in two. but we cant except sunshine in november.
Scooby is doing great had a little scare yesterday with him. but seems ok hes making up for 6 weeks of not eating much. lol
Have started to get the decor for inside down and sorted and started to left leaves outside. to start the outdoor

Hows all the furbabes hoping they are good and being good

Our christmas lights goes on saturday coming so will be a busy few days gives it cold but dry so guess that is something

Have fire lit since this morning as i cant seem to get warm with oil heating

Its sounds so nice to hear you all say about your christmas decor going up,

Can anyone tell me if the card exhange is started yet ?

Scooby is doing great had a little scare yesterday with him. but seems ok hes making up for 6 weeks of not eating much. lol
Have started to get the decor for inside down and sorted and started to left leaves outside. to start the outdoor

It is has been chilly and windy here too. I don't mind the cooler temperatures but the wind makes it feel so much worse. And I really don't like those winds when I'm walking the dogs! I'm happy to hear Scooby is doing well. Mine are all having a good week so far.
