Garth is from here so he is pretty big in Oklahoma. It is bringing back memories of high school. If there was a big ol' line dance to Friends in Low Places at your senior prom, you might be a redneck.

LOL!!!!! It's bringing back a lot of memories from High school for me too. I went to see him in concert when I was a Junior (I think) and I have to say that it was the best concert I have ever been to.

He sure is! I'm not a huge fan of modern artists performing Holiday songs but Michael seems to be very down-to-earth guy and he keeps that Holiday spirit in the songs while performing in his own way. (I'm not sure if you know what exactly I mean but if you prefer Christmas songs by, say, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, etc., you when should know what I aim to say.)

I am looking forward to having the weekend off. Lots of Christmassy things planned!

The tree is up and decorated, it's beautiful. It took me nearly 6 hours from bringing it upstairs, to hanging the last ornament. I am exhausted and I work in the morning.

We are excited too! I bought this book to help with teaching the kids about Advent.

Good choice! I'm not sure about the USA, but Advent period has a deep rooted traditions in my country. It really is a magical time, and I feel nostalgic when I see someone else excited about Advent period and its traditions. I'm sure that your children will be very thankful to you in their later life. :]

And as we progress, we can really appreciate the rapidly approaching proximity of Christmas:
Days to Christmas Day: 25 (Barely over 3 1/2 weeks away, now!)
(It is really creeping up fast isn't it?)

Still cold but not quite so frigid yesterday. Calm and sunny.
Really a nice, seasonally chilly day to get in some Christmas shopping which my sister and I did. I'm pretty close to half way finished!
Right now, we are at 30 degrees here in the capital city.

Hello again!
I have The Food Network on in the kitchen right now and they are making pancake lasagna. Yum!
The girls are all off to work. I straightened up the house and started laundry so far. I'm going to walk the dogs after I finish my cup of coffee and then I'm going food shopping. My husband's not feeling well so he is still in bed resting. I think he picked up whatever the girls had last week. Not too much else going on for me. Maybe some Christmas shopping later this afternoon.

Hi all, just having kiev for lunch waiting for paint to dry b4 deciding if I need a second coat. I hate ceilings!! Especially how it looks like I've missed bits after neck breaking hours of work. Unfortunately the house is over 30yrs old and the previous owners did some unfortunate home renos. Even several professionals that I have paid to do plastering haven't done a good job and it fustrates me that I can't get it perfect. Oh well, I'll cover it with tinsel!!!

we have a ceiling paint here that goes on blue so you can see it and drys white, very nice stuff, put out by Beauti-Tone paints, makes that not so nice job a little easier.
Hope it came out ok for you, but you are right, tinsel works great for hiding flaws!

We had some ridiculous people, too. But I took over when they were terrible to our employees. Grrr! Makes me angry.

It is the holiday season, people!! Be kind to each other!

the theater here in town has a policy that when someone is being nasty to an employee, the employees closet to him/her immediately go and stand with them and someone else will go and get the manager (or whoever is in charge). A show of support to let the irate customer know that the employee is not alone. It works great and is also good to know when you work there others have your back.

I am right there with you!! I love Classic Christmas songs the best, and he reminds me if the Crooners!!
