I just finished my last assignment ever for school! It isn't due for 10 days, but I was so antsy to get it completed.

I cannot believe that I am graduating college. I am so proud of myself, especially for my grades. I have worked so hard the past four and a half years. I was so disappointed that I had to go an extra semester, but I am just happy to be done now. That is the problem with transferring - some credits won't transfer! I decided not to walk for graduation because it is only a few days before Christmas. If I would have graduated in the spring, I definitely would have walked. I just don't want to risk anyone in my family getting sick right before Christmas. I also do not want to risk anything with the weather - you never know what it is going to do here! It could be a blizzard or an ice storm for all we know.

Now I feel like a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders - except another one will be placed right on top of there in a couple of weeks. I pray that I don't have to get a job far away, especially not in the city. Traffic would be horrendous and it's not a nice drive, especially in the winter. Everyone tells me that I am crazy for going to school for marketing and management. Most of the jobs that I have been discussing with companies are for marketing and are commission based only. I definitely don't want that - I want a salary!

Congratulations for graduating from college. My daughter is in her 2nd year of college right now, and I know how much hard work it takes to graduate from college with a degree. Just remember to take one step at a time and even if the perfect job doesn't fall into your lap at first/ right away, take what you can get and yet quietly keep on trying while collecting a paycheck....I wish you all the luck and sucesss in the world~

Hi friends~

Hope you are all enjoying your evening!

I am having a late dinner and relaxing a bit before heading to bed. Work all weekend. Boo...Just because I am sick, I feel that way. I need the hours.

I am thinking of you all and sending big hugs!! I wish I had time to respond more, but I need to rest.

CS, your cookies are a work of art- I know they taste delicious, too!!

Have a wonderful night, all!

 I know what Harlowe could use for Christmas...Matching red booties to keep her paws dry and warm...:-D

Good Saturday morning, my Christmas friends!

We're finally going to get the decorations up today. Can you believe that I still don't have my tree up?!? I should be tied up with garland and put in the pig pen under some mistletoe.

We went to Lowe's last night and picked up my mom's Christmas gift...an electric fireplace for her place in the mountains! Ok, I might get a little benefit from that, too.

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

That sounds like so much fun!! Have a great time. :-)

I put up a few more things last night while we were packing... Lisa thinks I'm goofy for putting up Christmas decorations while packing everyhing up; Ahhhh, to me, It's not Christmas unless I decorate something....

I just bought one of those electric fireplaces from Lowes just last week. I love it, because it really cranks out the heat and I like the glow from the fake log/ fire as well. I will be taking it with me of course, when I move in a few weeks. Feels good on the toes....

Don't work too hard!!! I hope you feel better soon~

Congrats to you! Question - have you posted your resume online anywhere or mostly just looking for local hires? I'm asking because we own our own business and while we're not looking for marketing at this time, in our industry and others, there are MANY people who hire marketing and management on a freelance basis/independent contractor so you can work satellite from where ever you are, but they do primarily look at sites like Monster.

Case in point, someone we work with is Shoot For a Cure foundation. They target fund raising for childhood leukemia. We spent several days with their marketing and social media director who is recently graduated and handles contracts independently. She's doing extremely well for herself and is really enjoying her work.

Just a thought to supplement some income until you have the permanent position you desire and get things rolling. Always good for the resume too. :)

Praying you much success and happiness!

I haven't posted my resume online yet, but I am definitely going to. I am waiting until I "officially" graduate so that my resume is updated with my graduation. Thank you so much for the useful information! I think posting my resume online is the best way to branch out - it can be challenging locally! Thank you again for your kind words!!

Headed to New York City for the day! I will take lots of pictures. Hope you all have a wonderful day!

I hope that you have a fun and safe trip, Sugar! I am looking forward to seeing pictures!

Good morning!
It is going to be partly sunny today with a high of 40 degrees.
Not too much going on here. Typical day of chores and errands. I must go food shopping, I have nothing in the house. I just found out a couple of days ago that the local supermarket that I have been going to will be closing. I'm so disappointed. I have been going there for over 20 years, I know the employees well and they are all so friendly. They've watched my kids grow up. A Super Stop & Shop opened up nearby and I guess they took a lot of business away from them. It's sad.
Anyway my two oldest are working today. My youngest has off and may go in to the city with her friends. I would love to go but my husband is also working today and I can't leave the dogs alone for that long. If she sends me pictures of the tree in Rockefeller Center I will share them with you.
I will also be doing more Christmas shopping!
I hope everyone is well and has a great day!!!

Good morning, HMG! Awww, I am sorry to hear about the grocery store! That happened to us here about five to six years ago. They actually reopened it as a different chain, but it is nowhere near as good. The prices are outrageous, too. We have to shop about twenty minutes away now compared to two! It sounds like the kids have fun plans for the day! I look forward to seeing some Rockefeller pictures if she sends you any! Have a good day and don't work too hard - find some time to relax!

Good morning, MMC~

Hope you all have a blessed & beautiful, Christmassy day!!

Good morning, Snowflake! Are you working today? I hope that you are feeling tons better by now! You have been in my thoughts and prayers.

Whenever we get wintry weather here, I always think back when I first joined these forums. Because of my name on here, Jeff Westover made a comment to the effect that he didn't know it snowed in Texas. Since joining, we have had a couple of ice storms (including the one we just had), and a few snow storms. The one time we even broke a record for snowfall in the Dallas area with over a foot of snow, and even a white Christmas, which was my wife's first ever in her life, and she grew up here. So yes Mr. Westover, we do have snow in Texas.

It's nice to see you! I have always liked your username and now the explanation was interesting to read!

its morning again,
watching Baby's First Christmas, finishing up some stuff around the house
Have to be at work at 2 until 6, strange hours for me as I am usually on days. After that is our company Christmas party, dinner at 7pm. Supposed to be some door prizes. There will be drinking and dancing...I don't drink and because of my knee cannot dance. At least I can have dinner and enjoy a visit with everyone.
I was going to bake more cookies only my cookie cutters have mysteriously disappeared.
It is trying to snow this morning, just enough flakes to see them.

Good morning, CS! I hope that you have a good day at work! Enjoy your company Christmas party, I hope that you win some awesome prizes! I am sure that there will be plenty of others not dancing, so at least you can all sit, relax, chat, and enjoy the food. I hope that you find your cookie cutters soon - I'm sure they'll turn up. Have a great day!

Goodmorning MMC family

I hope you all have a very blessed and peaceful Christmassy day.

I'm sitting in a grassy parking lot at 9 in the morning in Sarasota and it's 82 degrees. Sarasota is a coastal beach town south of Tampa for those unfamiliar with Florida's geography. This morning I was supposed to be my son's back up alarm at 4:30am to meet friends to drive here for a competition this morning. I set my alarm for 4:30PM instead of AM. His failed to go off though it was set. UGH!! I woke up at 6 the time he was supposed to be meeting everyone in our town. LOL So I volunteered to drive him here and drop him off, so he could do the event and still have fun riding back with his friends.

It's about 3 hours round trip. We had fun on the drive down and since I only have a few more months with him before he leaves for college out of state, I'll take every opportunity I can get. LOL

Heading back to Lakeland now, will do the lights on our tree, engrave some glass and then when he gets back we're going to my parents' house to surprise them with their little tree. I already have the lights on it. It's too cute!! LOL

Good morning, Gray! Whew, 82 degrees? It's only 30 degrees here right now! I have done that before with my alarm! At least your son got to go, and I am sure he will still have fun! That's quite the road trip. That sounds like a nice surprise for your parents and I am sure that they will appreciate it! Have fun today!

Good morning, Brad! LOL! Hey, at least the decorations are going up! I talked to a lady yesterday in the store that said she thought it was too late now so she isn't doing any. That sounds like a great gift for your mom. Have a good day and have fun decorating!

Good Morning MMC!!!!! It's cold here with a high in the mid 20's predicted for today. I have some errands to run since the roads aren't bad and then it will be back home to watch more Christmas movies and to bake some cookies. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning, Made! That's sure a chilly day! That sounds like the perfect day - what kind of cookies are you baking?

Thank you for your advice, I appreciate it! I am sure that it will take quite some time to stumble upon the perfect job. I will be happy just starting to make some money so I can save up! Thank you for the well wishes! I hope the same for your daughter when she graduates!

Good morning, MMC! It sounds like everyone has something fun planned today - decorating, baking, hanging out with family, Christmas parties - I'm jealous! I think my mom and I are going to be heading to the mall to Christmas shop for my brother. He is so hard to buy for! He gave my mom a list a while ago but she already got him everything on there. I feel like my gifts for him are always so boring - clothes, gift cards, that sort of thing. I love to give everyone a nice surprise so I have to figure out something good.

It's definitely cold and snowy outside, although we didn't get as much as they called for. I'm a little relieved because that means I am not stuck in the house all day long.

I hope you all have a wonderful day!!

No, I haven't, but I will definitely try it when our kitchen is completed!

Have you ever made the cranberry orange bread that's listed on the back of the Ocean Spray brand whole cranberries they sell in the freezer section at grocery stores?

I noticed it on the back of a bag 20 years ago, tried it and now make it every year. Of all the things I bake, I think it's my favorite, that I probably make more for myself than anyone else. I still see it on the backs of some of the packages. I've tweaked it a bit here and there, but still think the original base recipe is wonderful.

I know! Wish she would walk in them, but she won't. My friend bought her a pair, and she just freezes. I guess dogs even have pride, lol.

=)

Thanks, friend!!

Thank you, Jennifer!

I am still feeling lousy, and worried that I may have strep. I have been scheduled to work ever since I got sick, so if I still feel bad on Monday I will go to the doctor for a throat culture.

Thanks for thinking of me! Enjoy your weekend!!

We are at the Elks Hoop Shoot. Boo hoo no snow.

Boo to no snow! Have fun at the Hoop Shoot!!

Thank you, Seawaters!!

I got this one. It's on sale right now for $59.00. Regular price is $89.00, it heats up an 18x18 room with no problem and plugs into a standard wall outlet...
