Christmas Countdown - 2013

Hey everyone! Is everyone else freezing their beeehinds off? Oh wow that 15 inches of snow we received last week is not going anywhere!! Right now at 2 pm it is 18F tonight is getting down to 5F with wind chills in the -10's!! Yikes! I love it though. Sunday I lost my power during the Christmas party and it was off until Monday morning. I had just the fireplace so I slept in the living room in front of it in a sleeping bag. Brandi and the kids fly home Friday and I think they are seeing some snow in Boston today... I hope everyone is keeping warm!! DId I say I love the winter?? this makes Christmas 100 times better than being 75F in Dec.! Have a good afternoon all!

I am starting to feel better, thanks!! Getting lots of rest, so I am sure that is helping. Also taking lots of vitamin c & zinc.

I am good Sugar, cold, & like every one else this time of year: busy! :smile: Wishing the season would slow down a little!!! I have a lot more movies to watch, music to listen too, shopping & wrapping to do! And I need to finish the lights/outside decorations at my parents! Lol! And how are you?? Hope all is good!!

I am well too! I am cold here too and VERY busy. I have taken off some days coming up from work, which I am REALLY looking forward to. I saved up some of my holidays, which I try to do every year for this time of the year. I like to a lot of special things with my kids. I have most of my shopping done and pretty much all of the wrapping, but I still feel like I'm behind! Hoping you can find time to get everything done soon.

Good afternoon!!! Hope you are all staying warm today! It sure is freezin in Ohio!!! Ready to go home where I can crank up the furnace & get cozy!! :smile: I haven't been on much but I have caught up since yesterday - I think!

Tomorrow night we go to the TSO concert!! So excited!!! Hoping the hubby is done working in time to come along!!!

This Saturday is cookie day with my friend & her kids! Sunday is candy day at Moms with my sisters/sil/nieces! So much to look fwd too this week!! It's just going so fast! Need to check my supplies to make sure I have enough of everthing!

My FIL is having knee replacement surgery Thursday. I know he's nervous about that. Hoping/praying all goes well for him!! He has been in so much pain with his knees, so hopefully this helps him a bunch! He will be in the hospital a minimum of 3 nights! Could be interesting! ;-)

Ok...quitting time here! YAY! Hope you are all having a wonderful Christmassy day!!!

Have a wonderful time seeing TSO! I would love to see them someday. I'm sure it's an amazing show.

Update on the office Christmas tree---there's one in every crowd. One of the writers hung on the tree a cutout of "the finger" with a ribbon tied around the middle finger. Not quite in the spirit of goodwill to men ... More in the spirit, someone else contributed a dollar bill, origami-folded to look like a shirt, and someone else hung red and green dry-erase markers. There's also a cut-out-and-fold-up Nutcracker. If I have time, I'll crochet some little things.

Wow - you're right. One in every crowd. I guess at least people are contributing!

They are calling for another 4"-6" of snow today and I just love it! It's always great when your on the inside looking out and not driving around in the stuff.....

I feel the same way too! The Advent period simply seems to go too fast to me. :]

Yucky, cold day here & I'm not feeling the best in the world. But, I did get my car back yesterday! It was like having a brand new car again to figure out how everything works. I'm sure it'll all come back to me quickly.

Good evening everyone! Hope your day is going well. :] I had a little chat on the phone with my auntie from Norway, and she told me that both she and a baby girl are doing great. The name is yet undecided but she told me it will definitely be Lithuanian one. Yay! Also, I passed her all your wishes and kind words guys, and both she and my cousin appreciate them. :]

Oh, and I am glad for everyone who has snow. I guess majority of you guys have it. This is awesome! There is still not a single snowflake here, in South West Scotland. There was some sleet here late last week but that was it. Anyway, I am keeping my fingers crossed for at least some flurries by Christmas. :]

Oh wow I am so jealous!! The men who created TSO are from here and used to have their opening tour date here at the Lakeland Center every year. My parents and we would all go together. It was like the start of our Christmas season.

Then the Lakeand center started charging TSO too much and they bailed. Now they have concerts in Tampa and Orlando, but not here. My mom doesn't like traveling even a small distance so we don't go anymore. I would, but then I feel guilty going without them. But I have all the CDs, digitals and DVDs. LOL

Couldn't agree more!! I was going to do lights outside today but the sun is blazing and its 87. No thanks. LOL I'm a winter person too.

But lights will go up just the same because Christmas is still Christmas and outside lights are a must. I'll just wait a few more days till that blustery cold front rolls through and drops it down to a frigid 74. ROFL Cracks me up... In the evening when it hits 59 my ILs starting pulling out winter coats and "bundlin up." I'm walking around in a short sleeve shirt and flip flops. They call our house, "The Meat Locker." LOL

Getting on here late today. As soon as I got up I started decorating. The tree looks a little weird because the lower 3rd has lights but no ornaments. 1 11 month old puppy and a 2 month old kitten... I thought it best to "baby proof" the tree. LOL It's okay because when we look at the pictures 3 three years from now it'll be, "Why does the tree look like that? Oh yeah... that's when Moose was a puppy!! Aaaaawwwww!!" LOL

I left to run an errand at noon. Got back at 1:15. Walk in the living room and notice an entire string of lights out on the base of the tree. Yes some od the new ones. At this point I'm turning into Ralphie's dad. Nadafinga!
I guess I should be grateful there were no ornaments so it was easy to pull the whole string off to find the problem. Oh... I found it. One kitten who has not touched the tree since he went base diving into it, grabbed the cord and chewed threw it. One bulb is completely MIA, green housing and all. I tried to strip the wires and reassemble, but it just wasn't working. I'll need to splice them. Soooo.. I went back to the store, got another set and put them on. I'll use the Frankenstein set for something elsewhere around the house. LOL

Have to pick up my MIL from the airport at 10pm, but till then it's all decorating.

Good evening everyone!

Darkness has set in on the first double digit day of December. We're ever so close to our favourite day of the year. I missed checking in early today. I was teaching about an hour away from Ottawa. The drive seemed a bit long, but it was easy. The best part about the drive is that most of the schools are on constantly driven highways, so there should never be too much snow.

Currently, we're sitting at -7c/-8c. About where Canada's capital should be for this time of the year. It seems like a perfect night to stay inside and watch hockey. Thankfully, the Kings are playing Montreal on TV tonight. The Kings are really only on national TV (in Canada) about four times per season and it is quite rare for one of those games to be on at 7pm! It will be a good prep for their game on Saturday here against the Senators. I haven't purchased my ticket yet, but I am waiting for a steal. Not many Kings fans around here and the Sens are not doing very well this year.... Prices will probably come down and I am sure I can get a decent seat at a good price later in the week.

Dinner is almost ready. I am starving. Kim as well! I hope you all have had a great Tuesday. Tomorrow is 'Pines Day! Only three more remain until Christmas Day! Merry Christmas!

Back from the dentist - all went well! No cavities! As usual, though, they insisted on picking and picking like crazy until I was bleeding everywhere. I know they have to clean my teeth, but they can stop before there's blood!!!

My mom is still not feeling good today. She just can't seem to warm up, is tired, and still running a low-grade fever. Thanks for your prayers!

I am actually going to go catch up now and then get ready for my good night of TV. SOA finale!!
