Good morning all. Sorry I've been away so much. I'm afraid I'm too far behind to even attempt to catch up on the posts. Having Thanksgiving and now Christmas season without mom has been difficult. On a positive note, it has also led us to focus more on the true meaning of Christmas as we the celebrate the indescribable gift we have been given. We are trying to make it a much more Jesus centered Christmas.

Next Tuesday 17th with be my last work day until Jan 2nd as the college shuts down for Christmas break. I'm really looking forward to the break. Just wish we had gabulldawg's weather. As many of you know, I love snow and cold weather. It was 19 this morning when I left for work but we are expecting a much too warm high of 43 today.

Have a blessed day everyone.

I will continue to keep you in my thoughts.

Good evening!
Just popping in to say hello. I was in and out of the house all day. I'm hoping tomorrow will be less hectic. Thankfully I got a lot done. I'm pretty sure I am finished shopping for the girls. Hopefully I won't think of anything else I want to get them. Tomorrow I will start to organize everything and then I could start to wrap.
I hope everyone is well and had a wonderful day. Enjoy the rest of the evening!
Goodnight and sweet dreams!

Well folks, it's been one of those days and I'm not feeling the best. So I'm going to call it a night.

Goodnight, Everyone!!!!!!

This time of the year makes me think of my grandma - I miss her so much! I can remember her standing in the kitchen and humming Christmas carols. She would cook and bake endlessly around the holidays and she loved every minute of it. She used to literally beam when I opened my presents from her. She was like a second mom, really. She really had so many medical issues after a messed up surgery and never felt good. Still, she managed to make Christmas so special and it never showed. I think I get my love for Christmas from her. It was passed down to my mom and myself. I just watched a Christmas movie that was one of her favorites and now I can't seem to get her off of my mind!

I hope you all are having a good evening. Thanks again for your prayers for my mom! She's still not better which has us concerned that it's something potentially serious. If it were a virus the fever should be dwindling by now. On top of that, she hasn't had an appetite for a couple of weeks. Guess we'll know more next week when the doctor gets in. Good night! Sleep well and sweet dreams!

If you want to read an interesting take on the Fan, Ebenezer relationship, you should read "Jacob T. Marley" by R. William Bennett. I just finished reading it yesterday, and I really enjoyed it.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Thanks for posting this... you seem to have taken the words right out of my mouth...The older I get the more Christmas becomes more nostalgic than anything else. I mean for me at Christmas although I love my family I can't help but think what would my passed loved ones be doing right now if they were here. Like you my grandma was like a second mother to me...she died in 2003 but here lately I have been having dreams about her and I am always telling her how much I love her and I am introducing her to my wife and kids and telling her her advice did not fall on deaf ears and that she was right about so many things. I was young and you could not tell me anything back in my 20's...but the older I get the more I see my grandma was right about so many things and she just had my best interest at heart. Sorry for rambing on this post just really stirred something in me that I have been dealing with for a while now! I am glad I am not alone in this feeling...Christmas is so great and always will be but the more loved ones have passed the more you have to be stronger this time of year!!!

Hope you feel better soon!

Identity theft can be such a night mare I hear, I so hope it turns out all right for her.

That's for sure! When I got married almost 20 years ago I received paperwork with a marriage packet that allowed me to update my social security card to my married name. I sent all the paperwork in and never received an updated card. About 6 months later I found out that it was fraudulent paper work. About a year after that I started finding incorrect information on my credit report. Three years later when trying to apply for a car loan and getting turned down due to the fact that my credit report stated I had a car repossessed which in fact I never owned . I then learned I was a single woman with seven children living in another city approximately 200 miles away from where I did live and of a different race. Exciting stuff! Lol

Its been almost 20 years since that happened, there are still four things on my credit report with TransUnion that are incorrect from that incident.

Does the lake you live closest to freeze all the way over in the winter? I have often thought to make a huge lake with great depth freeze over it would have to be brutally cold! I have seen pics of some of the great lakes and they looked frozen, like in Chicago.I know I am a nerd when it comes to the weather and stuff like that.lol

Then you should love this picture! Last year my husband was doing part of his tour from Chicago, through Ohio, into Pennsylvania , and then New York. I was with him. We were in a little town called Conneaut, Ohio it's right on the water of Lake Erie. That year the freeze was so bad that something occurred in the lake effect that no one in the town who at ever seen. The water and the waves formed dunes of ice so instead of looking like a regular beach in the winter it looked like glaciers. I think it was one of the coolest things I've ever seen.

Continued prayers for your mom Jennifer. I can appreciate what you're saying about your grandmother and how wonderful it is to have those memories! Merry Christmas to you.
