Okay, I'm on my way!!!!! I just made a double batch of Chocolate peanut butter and well, I'll be amazed if it lasts until I get there!!! So I'll stop by the grocery store on the way from the bus station to your house to get the stuff to make another double batch for you.

We are back from the hospital after having all of the testing. My mom already received the results of her kidney and bladder sonograms - all is good. They said small stones and gravel likely would not have shown up. If a stone showed then it would have been big and surgery would have been needed to remove it.

My mom is just going to keep drinking a lot of water and hopefully if there's a small stone it'll pass! I want to avoid doctors and hospitals - don't need to get sick before Christmas!

Glad the tests came back okay!!! Praying she gets feeling better soon.

I have one day off before the holidays- yikes! Will have to do all my wrapping, cleaning, and grocery shopping that day. Ahh!!

Hope we can both get everything done! Too bad we didn't live closer, we could help each other out. Then have a glass of wine, lol.

Thank you---Mr. only has to drive a few miles from the train station, but he's working until 7 p.m. tonight, so I still worry about how heavy the snow will be when he's in it. I have to keep an eye on the driveway and shovel a way through the ridge after the plow goes by.

No work came in until 4 p.m.---then they needed me to review and correct an 8-page PowerPoint presentation in less than 30 minutes. Insane!

I haven't been responding to individual posts, but I'm reading them sending prayers up where they're needed.

I'm so sorry to hear this, HmG. This is a total bummer, I'm sure. Is there anywhere else you can buy it and get your money back or was it specific to that store?

I couldn't find that item anywhere but I did find something else that I think my daughter will be happy with. Thankfully the store gave me a refund for the sold out item that I didn't receive!

Update on my mom. Good news: Her ovarian cancer sonogram came back normal and good. Her blood work also came back normal. The bad news: That led the doctors to be clueless and wonder if she has a serious infection going on somewhere. The other good news: As of this morning, her urine sample came back and led them to believe that she may have kidney stones. This sounds possible because she had them a few months ago. So, today she has to run for some tests and that includes one to check for the stones. Kidney stones could be good or bad. If they are small enough to pass then she should feel better for Christmas. If they are big and need to be removed surgically, that likely wouldn't be taken care of until after Christmas and she would feel no better in the meantime.

So now we just have to hope that there is no infection elsewhere and that if she has kidney stones that they are small.

R: cookies...

When some get to much air and get hard, we seal them up for a day or two with a slice of apple our orange to soften then back up.

To get fluffy cookies...a.k.a..more cakey...i have replaced some or all the shortening with apple sauce at even measures. You may have to add a bit more dry ingredients...or a bit less apple sauce. You might have to experiment to get it right.

I just got used to having more free time this past year- and when I worked 40-50 hours a week in Vegas, we had much smaller celebrations.

so glad it is not cancer, and strange as it sounds hope it is just kidney stones, they are treatable and recovery is quick. Hope it can get all cleared up before Christmas.

Good morning, everyone! How are you all doing? I am well! I am just enjoying sitting by the fire and watching the snow fall. We got a couple of inches last night and we're supposed to get more snow today. We're supposed to get a total for 3-6 inches by tonight.

What are you all up today? I am relaxing right now, watching some Christmas movies and going to finish up my family Christmas cards and going to mail all my cards today. Then later this afternoon, I'm going to take EA to see the new movie, Frozen. It looks really cute. We're then going to go out to dinner. I have to pick up a couple of teacher gifts while I'm at the mall as well.

I'll be heading back to work tonight, work tomorrow night, then I'll be off again. It will be nice to home with DH and the kids for the holidays!

Will your hours go down after the Christmas rush?

Good evening,

Long day here, was able to get a lot of work done today at the job. It is all about the hams now, so we are pushing them to free up some space.

We finally watched "Christmas Vacation" tonight, it's usually one of the first movies we watch but time is disappearing so quickly this year.

If you all could keep my grandmother in your thoughts and prayers it would be greatly appreciated. Her cancer has come back and they will be amputating her arm to try to keep it from spreading. I am nervous about it, she is nearly 90 years old and a tough woman, but I can't help to worry.

My wife and I are heading out to get all the "loose ends" of Christmas done tomorrow. She takes a personal day from work so we can have a Christmas season date day to get everything done. It is suppose to snow so we are hoping we will be able to go.

We are so busy with the house! We aren't putting up a tree or decorations, so I just cannot get into the Christmas Spirit. Hubby already has his Christmas gift from me--an automatic screw putter-inner! Can't think of the technical name right now. That was what he wanted so he can use it before Christmas. I still have to get him something so he will have at least one surprise! Made, I would like some of your fudge. We aren't even making cookies, since we have no oven or stove! If the architect had not taken so long, we would probably have a LOT of the work done by now. But, NOOOO!

We went out for Chinese last night to celebrate Hubby's birthday. That food was so delicious that we will definitely go back, even with the 25-plus miles roundtrip.

Xmas, I am thinking of you and pray a calming spirit for your family. Grandparents are so special, and it is hard to see them having to go through illness, especially as they get into their 90s! You are so lucky to have had her for this long. I envy you that.

For some reason, my computer is running slowly. I sure hope nothing is wrong. I am keeping the site open and will try to check in later.
