Christmas Countdown - 2013

Emergency car repairs---the estimate is making me queasy, especially for a geriatric car, but they have to be done to get the car back on the road. Looks like we'll be car shopping before long, as other major repairs are looming but not yet urgent. The car has been paid off for a while, so it'll be tough to have car payments again for a few years. Well, that's life!

I'm hoping this weekend will go at a leisurely pace so I can enjoy the last weekend of the Season. I'm hoping that includes screening some of our Christmas films on 16mm, with fresh hot popcorn ... we have a print of the Seymour Hicks "Scrooge" that looks better than any DVD on the market!

So much for everyone in my family being off next week. My dad has to work on Thurs and Fri. I think it's so rotten that they waited until the absolute last minute to tell him that he didn't have the full week off. :x

Good evening!
My youngest went in to work a little while ago and realized she had a flat tire when she got out of the car. My husband went to take care of it. I hope she wasn't driving on the rim. It's weird, she said she didn't notice anything while she was driving.
Anyway, I'm going to start getting ready soon for hubby's company Christmas party. It usually runs pretty late, I'm not sure if I'll make it back on here tonight.

This has been a crazy busy week, snow will not stop falling!! we have about 18 inches in the back yard and I am not complaining but it's hell to drive on!! Family is coming in starting tonight, and we will have family and in laws here from now until Jan 2!!! So I may not be around much....wait is tonight that thing with Darlene love? or was it last night...oh crap I may have to rearrange some things in my schedule to be here!!!

whew! looks like I did not miss Lovemas as it is called here.lol I only was able to be here in 2011 and it was great seems like it was closer to xmas that year like on the 23rd. Things have been so nuts with family coming in and getting our house ready for the throngs of copelands coming it slipped my mind...but I do plan on being here!

Good Morning MMC!!!!!! It's going to be a warmer day here with a high in the mid 50's and raining. I need to get some work done around the apartment today and then I have some wrapping left to do. I also have to figure out what to make for dinner for my mom's birthday on Sunday. It's a pain trying to figure out something that my mom likes but that everyone else will eat too that is kind of special. I don't think she wants chicken nuggets and that is about all my niece's will eat at the moment. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Good afternoon, everyone!

I made it home. Safe and sound. It took a little longer than I had wanted, but I arrived last night at about 11:30. Delays in Ottawa definitely made me a little extra sleepy. Anyway, I have a lot to do today. Tonight is my annual Christmas Sweater party. We always invite about 30 people but only five or six make an appearance. It's pretty much always the same group, too. Despite the numbers, it is always a good time!

It's great to see old friends and catch up. Plus, it is always enjoyable to wear our Christmas sweaters to the bar as well. Hoping to see some familiar faces tonight. As for now, I have to get ready and go to the gym. It's usually not too busy at 1pm here, so I will continue to stick with that routine while I am here - rather than the 4:30pm I am used to back in Ottawa.

Anyway, I hope everyone has a great 20th of December. It certainly feels like Christmas time. I'm home and ready to enjoy the next 10 days here. Merry Christmas, everyone!

Hi everyone, hope you are all having a wonderful day. I've just finished work until the 2nd of January and Christmas 2013 is in full swing here. Few presents to wrap then catching up on the house chores then it's tv and a glass of red time. I went out for lunch with some work friends and I'm happy to confirm it's definitely Christmas, the place was buzzing and people even looked happy.

That's a bummer, MerryCarey. I just went through this myself. I had my car paid off for a year or so, but my car needed major repairs and wouldn't make it through inspection, so we opted to get a new car. Having the payments isn't fun, but we were just putting the payment into the bank, so at least we had the money I guess. Good luck with car shopping when you do start looking.
