Christmas Countdown - 2013

Hey everyone! It's been a hectic few days and they are not going to end anytime soon! I just wanted to check in to say howdy to yall and to see how everyone is doing these last few days leading up the Christmas and the end of 2013! Our weather has been blah! Foggy and 35F right now. At least no freezing rain though. We are going to have lows at 15F all week with highs at 33F all week and freezing fog in the forecast day and night for the next 5 days that is why I said blah!lol This weekend it looks to get sunny again and warm up to about 38F during the day...no snow in the next 5 days at least. I hope everyone is making the most of the last few days! I will check back in hopefully tomorrow! Being Christmas Eve I am thinking it may be a tough day for us since mom died we can't help but miss her and Christmas Eve was always our day we did everything. So I am sure there will be some shed tears here and there amongst us siblings! Talk to yall later and Goodnight!

Wishing that cold front would hurry on up. It's so hot outside. My son just said, "I think this is the least it's ever felt like Christmas." :-(

That made me so sad. Maybe it's because I live in a bubble that I created for the most part, but people out there are so not Christmassy. I don't know if it's the weather or just a general bad attitude, but it certainly does make me appreciate MMC all the more. Scroogey people. What's up with them??

Saw the first Hobby Lobby email this evening with 66% off all "Christmas Clearance." What horrible words. I'm pretty sure in Christmas Town that's considered profanity. LOL *sigh* Oh well. Guess I'll just look at it as the great prices I'm getting to make Christmas 2014 totally tinsel! Yes I did rip off that expression from Disney's Prep and Landing. LOL

I usually make my great grandmother's strombolli recipe for Christmas Eve, but this year we're doing dinner with Bud's parents/family on Eve so I did the strombolli tonight. Took Bud and Noah all of about seven minutes to leave just the corner pieces. ROFL

Cleaning up the kitchen, finishing a few layouts for glass designs and then going to bed. I hope you all have a very peaceful and beautiful night.

Good morning!
Prayers for Maggie please, I'm taking her to the vet again this morning. Her cough is flaring up. My husband is going to kill me, we just had a $400 bill last week for bringing Molly to the ER for an ear infection. When it rains it pours.
Anyway, I have a few errands to run afterwards and then back home for daily chores. The girls are all working today, the outlets have been a madhouse. If they want me to drive them in I will, the parking has been terrible.

Hello all...just sat down for a quick break. I spent 2.5 hours just grocery shopping for the next couple of days. Holy cow...it was a marathon. With my kids and grandkids, I was trying to think of everything we'd need for the next few days of celebrating. I'm pooped!
Tonight my daughter and I have a reunion with her high school buddies and their moms. I wish it weren't tonight, but with all the girls in town, I guess it makes sense. They are now 31 years old, but still such good friends. It's fun once I allow myself to relax and stop thinking of all the little details I need to finish.
Tomorrow is brunch with our kids and little ones. Christmas Day is the huge family gathering with my sibs and families...more food and festivity!

Good evening, everyone!

Stopping in for a quick moment. I've returned home from Green Bay. We didn't experience the result we wanted, but at least the Bears lost last night, too. The Packers vs. Bears game next week will see the winner win the division and qualify for the playoffs. A big game, indeed. Still, the game was very exciting and it was quite the experience. Nothing beats Lambeau Field in December, especially when the snow is falling throughout the entire game!

Time to go now though. My best friend from high school is stopping by and we're going out for a short while. I haven't seen Sam since last year, so it will be awesome to catch up with her. We've remained quite close since we first met in grade nine.

Good morning all, it's the Day before the Night Before Christmas! (bonus points to anyone who can remember the song by that name!) Hubby and I went to Herr's last night, to see their Christmas display. For anyone interested, that's Herr's Snack Factory in Nottingham, PA. They have their premises all lit up for Christmas...I've never seen so many trees with lights in one place. Lovely! And the nicest part is it's free....you just show up and drive through. We went around about 5 times, then went and got sandwiches at Wawa. Victor the Wonder Dog went with us, and got his own sandwich. It was a great evening! So, tonight we're going to 34th street and a few other places. Then I can download all the pictures and show them off!
