I am going to try to get caught up on here some. I know I said that was going to happen yesterday, but it never did.

I keep telling myself the same thing! I hop on here for a sec then got things to do!

That sounds like a wonderful Christmas. "The Bishop's Wife" is one of my favorite Christmas movies. We tend to watch it in the few days before Christmas. I only discovered it a few years ago, and kicked myself for missing it for so many years.

I knew about it but didn't watch it until 2 years ago! I about kicked myself too for missing out on such a wonderful movie. Then I think to myself it's not such a bad thing after all, it just gives me something "new" to look forward to every year!

My dad loves all these types movies and every time Little Shop Around the Corner comes on he calls me to tell me to watch it but it's during a time that I am busy and I have yet to watch it! He called me Christmas Eve day and told me it was on TMC but I was busy preparing food. I did turn it on but just listened to it in the background but really didn't know what was going on. The funny part is that my dad came over later that day and Wayne and he were talking about what a good movie it is. I thought Wayne was playing video games in the room but he was watching the movie for the first time. Now I need to watch it!

Good morning all!

Thursday, December 27th. Wow how could it already be 2 days after Christmas? And on the flip side of that, we're 2 days closer to Christmas Season 2014!! :-)

I keep thinking about Noah going away to college and what that will mean as far as our Christmasses to come. I sort of hope he chooses a different college closer to where we are, but he received a full scholarship to the college in question so rather difficult to turn down.

Last night I was thinking about things I could do to fill that void when he's gone and one thing I thought of was volunteering at the children's hospital teaching art and doing a storytime for them. Particularly around Christmas next year, helping them make their ornaments for the ward's tree for the children who can't go home at Christmas. I have lots of ideas.
We still have one more Christmas to go around here, but won't be till the 31st or 1st now. My SIL won't be in from New Orleans till late on the 30th. Right now I'm really looking forward to Sunday evening the 29th. My son and I are going to walk Munn Park. It's in our historic district and he and I have been doing a walk of the park every year through their light display since he was 4. The first few years we went he was in his sleepy pants, bundled up and wearing Clifford slippers. Clifford eventually moved to Scooby Doo, then it was light up sneakers. LOL Now it's cowboy boots and has been for years. Every year I take a picture of his feet. ROFL It's so funny to me to see those tiny Clifford slippers all the way to these ginormous size 15 cowboy boots. ROFL.
This walk is one of my favorite traditions of the year.

I am in the same boat as you, my daughter will be choosing a college soon. She will not be nearby, it's going to be a big adjustment for me. I think your idea to volunteer is a wonderful idea.
The walk sounds like an awesome tradition, have fun!

No big plans today, other than getting to my annual physical exam on time. Great timing, huh? Two days after Christmas! My blood will be full of sugar cookie sprinkles and eggnog!

We need to run around and pick up a few things at a few places, but I don't know if we'll do that today or tomorrow. We were going to go out yesterday, but it began to snow, so we just fixed some lunch and stayed in. We got about an inch, so it looks more seasonal today than it did on Christmas Day, when we had large stretches of brown grass with a little leftover snow.

I'm really, really enjoying having a long weekend after Christmas, but I'm getting spoiled! I'll have to face going to work Monday morning!

I hope your appointment goes well!

Friends, today has been even more magical than I imagined.

My grandfather met his great granddaughter for the first time. You would have to know how close we were growing up to understand just how important this was to both of us. He just kept patting me on the back and telling me he loved me.

One of the toughest men I have ever seen was brought to tears when he saw his great-granddaughter.

We laughed, we hugged, we exchanged stories, and we ate. There was plenty of pictures being taken, memories being made, and the magic of Christmas was oh so present.

In a few minutes, Santa will be making his first delivery to my daughter. I can't begin to tell you the happiness I feel right now.

I hope you are all having a great night....7 minutes on the east coast....one hour and seven minutes where I am...

But for us...it's Christmas year round....

God Bless!

How special that sounds and what a special moment I am sure that was.

My house is a mess. I really need to stop dragging my feet and clean everything up. I don't think I'm motivated because of the construction going on in here, I have a why bother attitude. I need to snap out of it. I wish my husband would either let someone help him finish this job or pay someone to do it. He is supposed to be off all week and I thought he would get a lot done around here but this is the second day in a row he had to go in to work for a few hours. It's so annoying! I am going to finish my cup of coffee and head out to run a few errands. I am out of trash bags so I'm going to pick them up and come back here to clean and purge. I am going to go room by room until I'm finished!
I also need to make a menu plan and grocery list. I feel like I just went food shopping and I have nothing in the house. Maybe I'll get take out tonight and give myself a break.
I hope everyone is having a great day so far!!!

I LOVE "Shop Around the Corner"! You have to see it! It's basically about the boss and employees of a shop in Budapest. Sounds dull, but very soon you get involved with the characters. It's also the basis of "In the Good Old Summertime" and "You've Got Mail," in that two of the employees are involved in a romance-by-mail relationship without knowing that the co-worker they despise is their pen pal. And the last third or so takes place and Christmastime.

Okay, I work for a doctor, and now I can just see some poor lab tech somewhere...he's got a stand of specimen tubes in front of him filled with cookie crumbs and sprinkles instead of blood....and he's thinking "Here we go again!"

Well.
We made it.
Back again to the greatest single day of the year.

And Crown gets their yearly week off from countdowning!
Will pop in from time to time but it could be irregular as I enjoy a break -- and some of the Bowl games!

Thanks once again for a fantastic year of "counting" on each other.
And I can already sense that 2014 will be even better.
<< Is that possible, Crown? >>
You bet! As has been proven time and time again.

Have a great Christmas Season Days 43-50, Folks!

Hope you and your family had a marvelous Christmas, Crown! Thanks for counting down with us in 2013. Can't wait to count down 2014 with you and everyone here!

Well, My better half did the dreaded job of packing Christmas away for another year. The house just looks so empty. Only a few pieces of christmas and stocking candy lets us know that it was Christmas just 48 hours ago and the occasional pine needle. I hate this time :(

Good Afternoon everyone. Today been trying to clean up the last of the mess from Christmas. This is also the first time ever that the tree is already down most year it comes down late Jan or mid Feb. We just have a huge party set for new-years and needed the room.

Just now taking a quick break and watching a Wresting Shoot Interview with local TN boy Tracy Smothers. Been pretty funny in parts as he talks about his start in the business and fun road stories. The thing about shoot interviews always tell myself to put them on while cleaning for distraction noise but always end up getting suckered into watching and forget about the cleaning.

Okay... Who wants to come over to my house for an organizing party??? Everything is picked up but just need to get organized. It seems a few others on here are doing the same so we can make our rounds. Start off here then get on Seawaters learjet and go to others and organize.

I will play Christmas music and we can have some eggnog! :???:
I'm tired but I need to get moving!!!

I agree with that! My house looks so boring when I take the decorations down. Booo! I still have mine up and will not take it down until I'm ready. The mood usually hits sometime in January but for now I am enjoying it!

Just be sure to visit here often to keep the Christmas cheer! cheesy

What a great idea - taking photos of their feet. Wish I'd done that!!

You should make a date with your dad and watch it. Sounds like a great bonding moment.

Pop Australia on the clean-up crew schedule!!

This was on the Facebook of one of the local radio station hosts this am:

There are 363 days till Christmas and people already have their Christmas lights up.

Unbelievable.
