A little recap of our Christmas.

Christmas Eve we had our family come over for food, games and gift giving. We listened to Kringle Radio the entire time and it was great! Our yearly tradition on Thanksgiving and Christmas is playing bingo and passing out prizes to the winners. Lots of laughs and lots of fun!

Christmas Day, Snow-in-Texas and I exchanged our gifts with each other then went to my job to feed all the animals, they need a little Christmas too! I bought some duck feed from our store and we headed to the lake to feed them. The weather was mild and quite a few people were out there. We passed out duck feed to some of the kids who were there so they could help us feed them. There were LOTS of hungry ducks! We came home and I fixed us a big lunch. We had lunch and watched The Bishop's Wife. I love that movie! We just had a very nice relaxing day listening to music and watching more Christmas movies/shows. It was great!

What a Christmas!! Thank you for sharingn it! :-)

and a very nice day it was!
I love going down to our river and feeding the ducks and swans in the summer.

Good Morning MMC!!!!!! It's going to be a nice day here with a high in the mid 40's. So hopefully by the end of the day, my street won't be a sheet of ice anymore!!! I don't have a whole lot of my agenda for today. The main thing I need to get done is to clean out my closet but with all of the empty totes and boxes from the Christmas decorations in my room. I don't know if I have the room to do it. So I may say forget it and go shopping. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!

LOL Sounds like a good plan to me Made!! Have a great one!

Good morning Sam!
Sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas. I remember when my children were that young, it truly was a magical time. Now that the girls are older I can't help but wonder how many more Christmas mornings I will have with us all together. The time has gone by so fast!
Enjoy the rest of the week!

Here is a house that my daughter, son-in-law and family saw here in Dallas the other night. Wayne and I were in that same neighborhood looking at lights a few nights before that but missed it somehow. That neighborhood has lots of beautiful lights! I got a laugh out of this! I love Santa but.... WOW! It looks like someone else does too!
LOL, that is a lot of Santa's in one place!

Good morning, friends! How are you all doing this morning? I am doing well. I am just sitting relaxing, enjoying DS, as he watches TV and I drink a cup of coffee.

What are your plans for the day? I am going to try to get caught up on here some. I know I said that was going to happen yesterday, but it never did. I got up yesterday cleaned and organized non-stop until I got the kids to bed. I pretty much have it all done, except for doing some laundry and sweeping the house. DH is home until going into work this afternoon, so he will help today, so I'm going to relax for a little while.

I go back to work tonight as well, but will work for just two days. I could really get used to this schedule! I can't hold my breath though! After the holidays, it will be back to normal!

Well, I hope you all have a wonderful day! I am off to read and reply to the posts! Talk to you guys later on. Thinking of you all, your families, and furbabies. God Bless and keep smiling! :-D

Hope you have a peaceful day Snowflake. :-)

I am heading off to work in an hour, working until 5, unless they need me longer.
Until then I will enjoy the myth busters marathon that is on today.

I am looking forward to New year's eve. It will be a quiet one spent just watching TV, movies ,snacking and counting down till midnight. Although I won't take decorations down till around the 6th or 7th New years day is kind of the end here in the house if I'm being honest :(

I know what you're talking about! Mr. and I stay home for New Year's Eve and (what else? cheesy) run a bunch of films downstairs until it's nearly midnight, then we come upstairs and watch the ball drop in Times Square.

Like you, I start to put decorations away not long after New Year's; it makes me a little sad to keep them up when the holiday season is a memory rather than on its way. A friend of ours is visiting on the 5th this year, so I will probably leave our main tree up a little longer so he can see it.

That sounds like a wonderful Christmas. "The Bishop's Wife" is one of my favorite Christmas movies. We tend to watch it in the few days before Christmas. I only discovered it a few years ago, and kicked myself for missing it for so many years.

Good morning all!

Thursday, December 27th. Wow how could it already be 2 days after Christmas? And on the flip side of that, we're 2 days closer to Christmas Season 2014!! :-)

I keep thinking about Noah going away to college and what that will mean as far as our Christmasses to come. I sort of hope he chooses a different college closer to where we are, but he received a full scholarship to the college in question so rather difficult to turn down.

Last night I was thinking about things I could do to fill that void when he's gone and one thing I thought of was volunteering at the children's hospital teaching art and doing a storytime for them. Particularly around Christmas next year, helping them make their ornaments for the ward's tree for the children who can't go home at Christmas. I have lots of ideas. :-)

We still have one more Christmas to go around here, but won't be till the 31st or 1st now. My SIL won't be in from New Orleans till late on the 30th. Right now I'm really looking forward to Sunday evening the 29th. My son and I are going to walk Munn Park. It's in our historic district and he and I have been doing a walk of the park every year through their light display since he was 4. The first few years we went he was in his sleepy pants, bundled up and wearing Clifford slippers. Clifford eventually moved to Scooby Doo, then it was light up sneakers. LOL Now it's cowboy boots and has been for years. Every year I take a picture of his feet. ROFL It's so funny to me to see those tiny Clifford slippers all the way to these ginormous size 15 cowboy boots. ROFL.

It's like a showroom for outdoor Christmas decorations!

This is something I'm trying not to think about! I always try to save a few vacation days, and by arranging a couple of four-day weekends in December, I usually have no five-day weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas. So going back after New Year's and readjusting to five-day weeks is a bit of a wrench! I have today off and then work Monday and Tuesday, but Tuesday will hopefully be a short day due to New Year's Eve.

No big plans today, other than getting to my annual physical exam on time. Great timing, huh? Two days after Christmas! My blood will be full of sugar cookie sprinkles and eggnog!

We need to run around and pick up a few things at a few places, but I don't know if we'll do that today or tomorrow. We were going to go out yesterday, but it began to snow, so we just fixed some lunch and stayed in. We got about an inch, so it looks more seasonal today than it did on Christmas Day, when we had large stretches of brown grass with a little leftover snow.

I'm really, really enjoying having a long weekend after Christmas, but I'm getting spoiled! I'll have to face going to work Monday morning!

Happy Friday, all! I have decided that tomorrow is going to be Cookie Baking Day at my house. I'm going to make cherry winks for hubby, and rosemary shortbread for me. Yum!

What are cherry winks?

I have left over sugar cookie dough that my husband asked for me to make into the shape of a sledgehammer and then put the logo of our friend's company on it so he can take a pic for Facebook. LOL. We're a weird bunch. ;-)

Sounds like you got your house in order yesterday, good for you! I didn't do as well as I would have liked so I'm going to keep chipping away at it today.
I hope you have a wonderful day too!
