Happy New Year MMC from Australia. I saw the new year in, can hear the local fireworks and now I'm off to bed for a nap before the kids call for lifts home. Cheers and I'll catch up with you all in the 2014 countdown

Good Final Day Morning, Dear Friends.

It has come down to this.

The last day of the year and the last day of this thread.

Permanent lock-down will occur at midnight tonight.

And what a run it has been!

We not only bettered last year's record, we shattered it!

What will 2014 be like?

Well, if all the past years can be our guide, it will surely be another record-setter!

Thanks ever so much for your support this year in both this thread and the Blossoms thread (which also set a new record, by the way!)

Here's to the new year and to counting on you and with you in 2014!

- Crown

Thanks for all you do, Crown!!

Looming forward to counting down with you in 2014, too.

Happy New Year to you & yours!!

Happy New Year, Crown! cheesy

Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!

As our list of Countdown friends grows, we see many around the world who live in different time zones. It's funny to see some posting that they're already in 2014! How cool!

I usually have NY Eve and NY Day off, but the company changed policy. Now we have to work NY Eve. I wouldn't be doing anything but watching TV, anyway.

Hopefully, we'll have an oyster roast at Bernie's tonight. Love those roasted oysters!

I hope y'all have a great New Year's Eve! cheesy

Jinglebelljames has made a suggestion and I have installed it and so far so good. It allows barcode additions. I'm going to have a look at out of milk for my groceries. Thanks graywolf

Great! Glad you found something that works for you! I use OofM for everything. This year made a Christmas list. Catrgories for each thing: gifts, baking and cooking, decorating. The gifts section was categorized by each person too. LOL

Out of Milk and Groceries both also allow you to create recipe items. So say you want to make sugar cookies. You create that with the ingredients needed. The next time you want to make those, you tap "sugar cookies," and all of the ingredients auto-populate into your shopping list.

*moment of self-awareness* Hi I'm Heather... I'm a geek. LOL

It's very sad when things that are a tradition or have long been a part of your life disappear. I'm so sorry all this happened to you at once.

Wow.... well that was disappointing. We went to Munn Park like every year, but this time around they pulled the either CD, mp3 or satellite they were using and instead had a piped in radio station that was playing.... smooth jazz love songs. Phil Collins, Bonnie Rait, Neil Young and the like. Kinda made you wanna hang yourself with a string of lights.

Then they took out about 60% of the lights and displays. The wrapped oak and maple trees covered in white lights - gone. Displays around the lake - gone. Displays around the fountain - gone.

Then the little mom n pop ice cream shop where we always got hot cocoa every year - evidently some time in the last three weeks went out of business.

Noah and I just stood there dumbfounded. I was speechless and heart broken. :-( We left early.

Bud, God love him, tried so hard to make it fun none the less, but it was just sad.

We ended up watching "Holiday Inn" tonight instead of Charlie Brown. We did record good ol' Chuck though. One more day of the year left to go, I am really starting to fight the onset of PCBs, knowing decorations, commercials, music will be disappearing soon. New Year's Day is always one of the most depressing days of the year to me. I wish I didn't feel that way every year, and every year I mope around.

I will leave you tonight with something cheerful, a picture I took of the tree in the red room on Christmas Eve. I just love the way the sun lit up the room.

My large Santa was wrapped in that plastic bag looking thing on the left side of the picture.

Good night, everyone.

Your tree looks great Xmas!!!!
