Happy New Year! Today Ill take down our outside lights. It will take some time. We use 30 strands of 66ft. lights for the house. Plus the fence an arch way and three mega trees I built. Its kind of a tradition to take down the lights, count to see what we need for next year and make notes of what we want to do for the next Christmas. Then later in the evening we go back up in the attic and make a note that says "See boys I told you it would be here before you know it" we put the days hours and minutes and seconds until the next christmas on the note as well as the number of days until we will put it up again. We then put the note in the tree tote with notes from years past. The tradition started years ago when my oldest son said that Christmas decorations are like a time capsule. It always makes us smile when we open the tote on Thanksgiving day to put the tree up, to see the notes. After all this is done today I will get to enjoy one of my newer traditions for the second time. Entering the milestones in my calendar

Good Morning everyone and happy New year hope everyone had a safe night last nigh. The Baby wife an I were all asleep by like 930 last night. Just logged in was shocked that the 2014 countdown page is already at 18 pages wow that was fast lol.

yes, but over 118 of those posts are made and sugar talking into the wee hours of the morning, apparently both had to much of Carl's special blend.

What a slam-bang start up we've had.
I can just feel it. Another record setting year has begun! (Especially if this posting rate continues!)


Cold here with our thermometer standing just half a degree above freezing.
Should be a nice dry day though, to welcome in the new year!

Just got home from work a short while ago. It got busy towards the end of my shift. Apparently someone wants to have a New Years baby!

Good morning!
I hope everyone had a happy and safe New Years Eve!
My oldest had an opening shift this morning so we woke up early. My other two will be going in to work later this afternoon. Not too much planned for me. I am feeling a bit down today. I'm still trying to get my house in order so that will keep me busy. And I have to see how much snow we have heading our way, I may run to the supermarket for a few things.

Looks like the weather channel is now saying 3-5" for my area, but for everyone North of me, look out, I believe you guys are going to get whomped from this storm with some snowfall amounts exceeding 12-18" of snow....:-D

We are up to 3 to 5 inches too and instead of starting tomorrow night into friday morning, it's going to move in tonight.

We went to a friend's house last night for dinner and some wine. Pretty low key. Today we are taking down the tree and outside lights.

We are supposed to get a snow storm starting tomm morning into Fri. They are saying 6-10 inches. I do have to run to the grocery store as the kiddos go back to school tomorrow. I hope they can get in a 1/2 day tomm and will probably have Fri off.

Happy New Year dear friends! May all your dreams and wishes come true. I hope that 2014 brings us good health, contentment, love, friendship and strength when we need it.

It was a quiet New year's eve for us, just how we wanted it. We stayed in and just chilled out home. We counted down the final seconds with Jools Holland on TV and at midnight we opened the front door to let the new year in as we do every year. Some of the neighbours were out so we exchanged best wishes and looked at some fireworks going off.

I woke up this morning somewhat deflated, always the way this time of year as you all know. I am so glad you all are here!!!
I have just listened to my Christmas playlist for probably the last time. My decorations will come down this weekend. Another year over. The Christmas movie channel will soon stop You know it doesn't feel that long ago since Halloween and everything was only just starting!!!! It's been a good Christmas though, I am so grateful for everything.

Happy New Year, Festive!!!! Glad you enjoyed your quiet night at home.

I know what you mean about being deflated. We are all still here to help that Christmas spirit flowing though!!!

Walked Fox the dog around the neighborhood this morning and was pleased to see about 95 percent of the homes that decorated still had theirs up.
Gave me a good feeling!

(But will make me feel a but guilty about starting to take ours down tomorrow.)
