Happy New Year my Christmas Friends!

We went to a friend's house last night for dinner and some wine. Pretty low key. Today we are taking down the tree and outside lights.

We are supposed to get a snow storm starting tomm morning into Fri. They are saying 6-10 inches. I do have to run to the grocery store as the kiddos go back to school tomorrow. I hope they can get in a 1/2 day tomm and will probably have Fri off.

We really need to start our own Christmas Movie Channel!!

Happy New Years Day everyone! What do you all have planned for today? I think we are going to get together with some friends to watch football & of course eat & drink! Geesh! Then we'll do it again Friday for the Buckeye game & THEN it's time to get back on the WW plan!!!! I have a pork loin in the freezer I might try to do something with for today! And the rest will be all leftovers! The new Reuben dip recipe I made last night was a huge hit. It was very good & there is less than a small bowl of it left. Hubby is still sleeping - there might be a short nap in my future too! :smile:

Hi guys! Happy New Year!!! Just loooking at how the posts have increased over the years is INCREDIBLE! I remember wheN I joined in 2008, you'd have to sit aorund waiting for a post on the Countdown! Now, I can't even pretend I can keep up!! But I wanted to wish you all a merry, happy, healthy, prosperous new year!!

Snow is heading our way, too.. the meterologists are going back and forth on the amount. Right now it's 3-6" Thurs-Fri. I am praying they cancel school Friday. If they don't, AM kindergarten has to go in for an hour and 20 minutes! It's such a waste.. and the high will be 18 in the city, so colder out here in the 'burbs! I'd much rather stay cozy at home!

Good morning! Been up and at it since 6:30. Today I'm going to catch up on work and get prepared for tomorrow and Friday. Bambina is getting after it with her Mom in the back, I can hear her playing and laughing. No better way to start our morning.

Going to spend quite a bit of time on Saturday making a checklist of things that we need to do before Christmas next year. I'm also going to drink a heck of a lot of coffee the next four days.

It was great to come home from the lake early evening (last night) & see the whole neighborhood all lit up yet! Not ready for all the lights to go away! Why don't we have "winter lights" around our houses anyway?? It's just a dark time of year! We need to start a new trend... :smile:

I agree!!!! I have a few flame less candles that will come out to help with it some but I really need to find some more things to kind of help keep the magic alive!!

I am on team WINTER LIGHTS, too! What better way to cheer you up on a dark, cold, winter's night than sparkly lights? THey just put everyone in a good mood!!

Ambitious and admirable!

One thing I'm looking forward to in 2014 is having most of the year to pick out music for the Santa Tracking shows. I have a lot of digital music, but also a lot on LPs and cassettes that don't get out to play much. If I could manage to digitize at least one album a week in 2014, I'd have over 40 new albums to pick music from for next year!

I'd like to do that, too, but I do not have something that will digitize. What do you recommend?

As you know I wasn't on much. You know, family stuff and running around like a gingerbread man without his head haha. But everything has died down and I'm back! Wanted to share a few pictures with you from Christmas!

Holiday, my husband said the same thing... kind of wants to go back tomorrow but will miss being at home. This is my first year with a kiddo in school so back at it tomorrow. I wish I could just keep my little ones home with me forever!

Lets do it!!! What I really want to do is keep the tree in the back yard that is in memory of my brother, lit up. Right now we have the trunk wrapped with white lights & the branches with color. I love it. If I have to let Buster out in the middle of the night, the back yard is lit up. I just love it! If there were "winter lights" I could decorate that tree up until March - when they days are finally getting longer & daylight savings begins! :smile: I'm betting our back yard neighbors would like it too! :smile:

Sadly I've put all the decorations away until next year...I've left a few sneaky ones out to remind me that Christmas is a state of mind, not a time of year!

I do that too! Last year I left a winking Santa mug on my kitchen shelf all year, and a little Christmas pillow on my "library" sofa. I think I'll leave my Christmas mugs on the shelf for a while longer this year.

At the office, I keep a candy cane pen in my pen cup year-round. I made a reputation for myself this year as the office Christmas person, so I may sneak in another seasonal reminder or two!
